i've been watching the wire
hajime no ippo-
anime about a kid who goes from being picked on at school to featherweight world champ.
great boxing series. very informative in terms of boxing technique, not alot of filler its training then match ,training then match, then comedy then training... the 1st 20 eps covers over a years time.
each ep centers around a technique or boxing style.
the main char ippo is like tyson, short but has a powerful punch, so his coach taught him the tyson peekaboo stance to fight with.
see all 72 eps on www.crunchyroll.com - the biggest anime selection on line.

^^A friend of mine raves about this anime, I may have to check it out.
yeah the story is good, char development is good, the fights are crazy(realistic not DBZ style). i find myself cheering ippo outloud. plus the comedy is hilarious.
I will take a look. Thanks for the link.
Been watching....
Planet Terror (fantastic)
Disturbia
Juno
The Thin Red Line- Watched it for the 3rd time. Everyone needs to just give this film a chance, for gods sake! I first watched it when I was about 13, and was bored without loads of brutal violence (Saving Private Ryan), but watching it last week, I looked at it with a whole new perspective. It has a fir amount of action, and definitely is a war movie, but I would consider it a character study and a drama more so. I love this movie now, amazing score by Hans Zimmer, beautiful and captivating cinematography, and one can not say enough about the cast.
^^ new jersey drive, i tried to push that movie to you guys but finally some1 got to see it, the soundtrack for that movie is pretty ill.
the thin red line - yeah it has alot of violence long movie but good action

Does your soul have a cold - its a japanese documentary about depression in japan, also known as "utsi" i believe, it was a very interesting documentary, depression was not know to man in japan until the late 90's, which to me was suprising
gangs of new york- great movie, what can i say about leo, THE DOOD KNOWS HOW TO ACT. great storyline

just watched skins. saddest episode ever. anyone see it?
the hugging bit in the club was probably the best bit of film/tv I've ever seen. It was so well done.
This week I have mostly been watching Naruto. I'm on episode 35 and I'm trying to catch up to my mates who are up to date with Japan I think on episode 267!!
Think I'm gonna cut out most of the filler episodes (136-220), but still a lot to watch!
Well I recently bought Deer Hunter, finally watched it, for the first time. I cant say enough about the acting, I just feel weird about it the outcome. I really want to like it, but some moments dragged on, and the ending in the bar wasn't what I was expecting. I would still give it a 4/5, because it overwhelms you with emotion.
No country for old men
There will be blood
Jumper
Bourne trilogy
40 year old virgin
Its definetly a well directed show, but i'm just not convinced by the overall tone of the show and the storylines. It just seems like sensationalism for sensationalisms sake. Its like a bunch of friends that have all this exciting stuff going on in their lives. My teenage years were not like that and I can't relate to all this crazy stuff. People that different would never be friends in real life. But hey maybe if I'd had a plethora of different friends (Black, Female, Muslim, Gay etc) at high school and a bunch of parties to go to I might feel different about the show.
Anyways my most recently watched flick is Junebug, which is real slice of Southern American life brilliantly acted and knowledgeably directed. The main themes are family dynamics and change and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
^^ Skins is so unreal its like english late night neighbours...
Its one of those shows thats made by people who never experienced that shit but pretend thats what ts like... Bit gay in my opinion
Yeah I can't relate to it either ?
