^^ This, broadcasters make it hard for me to even watch the EPL, I remember earlier in the season Stoke was beating City 1-0 at half time and the broadcasters said that because Stoke was winning it makes the EPL the best league in the world, as if other top teams in other leagues never lose.Quote:

Well yeah the 'quality' isn't there in the EPL. There isn't a team that plays amazing football, Arsenal and Man City from time to time but both teams have been very inconsistent this season.
I think the poor play in European competition shows that English teams have regressed a little. Still the league has been great this season and its better for the league to have more seasons like this.
The real fucked up story is Liverpool raising the ticket prices, minimum ticket price is going to be £77 up from £59. When you compare with Germany the prices are ridiculous, teams shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

I disagree. Some of the games are crap but I watched West Ham against Man City a few weeks ago and it was one of the best games of football ive seen in a long time. Yeah we dont have a team like Barca or Madrid who play amazing football week in week out but it is so unpredictable that it so enjoyable to follow. Plus, as much as I think Pep is more than likely overrated (how hard is it to manage two of the best teams in the world) I think he will have City playing amazing football, and if Mourihino goes to United we could have two of the best teams in Europe again.Quote:

EPL is so overrated its not even funny (That's why I never watched it). I don't watch soccer anymore (Find it boring). But back in the 90's (everything was better in the 90's lol) every sunday, I watched 'Match of the week' + the weekly round up of Serie A. Back then any player worth their salt, would play in Serie A. Then over night things turned plastic (like everything else in society) and all of a sudden, no name players + EPL/ La Liga / Ridiculous transfer fees ect..... became cool Ahahahahaha
IMO..... The Italian league was and maybe always will be ( not sure now because I don't follow) the best, because you actually had to have real talent and skill.

Englands best ever player ( IMO...One of the world's best ever players) Paul Gascoigne went to Italy in the 90's, to try his luck and didn't do well !

Nah, England has secured the fourth spot for 17/18 as no Italian team is left in any European competition (while England have one in each). Todays Champs league, if Torres wasn't such an idiot Atletico could have gotten much more out of the game against Barca.
This game and the clasico on the weekend showed that this Barca team are fully beatable.
Benfica did a good job just conceding one goal against Bayern.

Great for the sport when its surrounded by so much money and the only way to win anything is literally spend millions and millions. And a team of misfits (basically) who cost next to nothing beat all the billionaire clubs. In a cup is one thing coz but in a league over the course of a full season is something else. Spectacular.

Kidnapped Mexican soccer star Alan Pulido was found and rescued safely by police, according to authorities in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas.
Pulido was kidnapped over the weekend by armed men after he left a party in his hometown of Ciudad Victoria in northern Mexico, officials said.
The rescue happened shortly before midnight involving federal and state forces, the Tamaulipas Coordination Group said in a statement released early this morning.
Pulido also received a medical evaluation, the statement said.
Gov. Egidio Torre Cantú visited the player to make sure he was OK and congratulated police for the successful operation, the statement added.
Pulido is a forward for Olympiakos of Greece. He was a member of Mexico's World Cup team in 2014.
The Greek team tweeted this morning that Pulido was with his family "safe" and "healthy."
Detail, including a potential motive, are still unclear.
Ruben Dario of the Tamaulipas state attorney general's office did not elaborate on the investigation, telling ABC News the family has requested privacy. :mexico:

Theres been some serious violence in this tournament. English fans for the past couple days, today before the game the Russians joining in the party.
