That was some of the most awful penalties you will ever see, Müller's was disgraceful and wtf was Zaza doing dancing around like that lol Pressure really makes people do extraordinarily weird things.

I hope Löw doesn't play 3 at the back again because it doesn't suit the team at all. Özil was pretty much taken out of the game and Kimmich is no wing back. Kroos was pretty poor as he usually is in big games. Jerome Boateng always has a moment of madness in him, fantastic player but jeez he can have lapses like that.

This tournament is now Germany's to lose, with all due respect to France I don't think any team left should be beating them but as hosts you never know what can happen.

That penalty shootout i mean what the fuck was Zaza doing? he came on just to take a penalty and he was fucking dancing around like an idiot. Then Pelle playing mind games with Neuer before he shamefully dragged it out. The German playmakers took some shocking penalties, everytime I see Ozil come up for a penalty I just know his gonna miss, he has the smug penalty taker look to him.

Overall I thought Germany was the better team, the tactic was simple really. Play like Italy just do it better than them, which they did. It really made Germany less creative going forward but it didn't allow Italy to do much either. These were the 2 best teams in the tournament by far though, shame Italy gets knocked out in the Quarters this game should of been the final.

Italy were up in the shootout with their two strikers to take the next 2 and they both missed the target.

1990 out on penalties
1992 missed a penalty in 0-0 draw to qualify
1994 out on penalties
1996 missed a penalty in 0-0 draw to qualify

Germany and Italy show how a quality manager makes all the difference as well. A lot of people say "well I could coach that team they're so good" well you only need to look st Belgium or England to see how a poor manager stifles a team.

true, Italy have been playing with a consistent plan in mind all along, and Germany today had the common sense to change their game plan by adjusting to Italy's 3-5-2, a system which is usually difficult to counter ... unless you play in a 3-5-2 yourself and are ready for intense one on one dueling (sorry I don't know how to phrase this soccer lingo in English adequately lol)

since Germany & Italy played with the same game plan small individual mistakes made a huge difference (talking both the first goal and the foul that led to the second goal)

the lights suddenly went out with Boateng lol. in the minutes leading up to his incredibly stupid foul (dude this is not volleyball haha) he'd already done something annoyingly bad close to the sideline. did you see the relief on his face after the penalty shootout?

on the forthcoming games ... Portugal really doesn't deserve to get to the finals when you take their tournament results into account. sure sometimes they played well, but in other cases their tactics are pretty questionable and ronaldo has been hit or miss to say the least

I'm not sure that's the kind of game you want to play heading in to a semi final against Germany though. They'll be without Gomez which is a huge blow, it was his work in the build up to the Özil goal and he's much more threatening up front that Götze. I wonder if Löw will have the tactical courage to throw Sanéup front? That would be interesting. Götze is only suited to play in the middle where Özil is, I feel sorry for the guy because he's immensely talented but at club and country he's used as a fix-it solution a lot.

This Portugal side are built to win games, they haven't lost in a while. They have not played good football at all this tournament, yet they have reached the final. I wouldn't be surprised if they win it.

Wales were poor today, they didn't threaten Portugal at all.

Portugal had it easy so far. They only beat Croatia and Wales. All their other games were ties.

I think tomorrow's winner won't have much trouble with them.

This is how football is, the team which plays better makes 2 stupid mistakes and thats it. Germany were far the better side but the ball didn't want to go in for them. Pretty much the same result as the Italy semi-final 4 years ago.

There is no Miroslav Klose replacement anywhere to be seen which is strange because a pure goal scorer is something German football always have had. Once Gomez was injured that pretty much ended them, it's not just about a goal scorer but with only 1 striker in the squad it changes the shape and dynamic of the team they were much better with Gomez than Götze up front. I also think there comes a time when you can have too much possession, see Bayern deep in European competition. Maybe Reus makes a difference to the team if fit? Probably not since he goes missing in big games.

I hope France wipe the floor with Portugal. They're a good team who really haven't played to their potential yet. Iceland played well but they aren't the measuring stick. Good thing Atletici re-signed Griezmann early he's been the clear player of the tournament.

Yeah 2.2million Euro fine for Sneijder, they obviously want him gone. The clubs got financial problems, major ones. They have 2 players they can sell one is Sneijder the other Fernando Muslera, they gave both players monumental fines for no reason. In an effort to sell they fucked up though, Sneijder and other players can go to UEFA and have every right to have their contracts voided because theres no justification for such large fines, meaning they can leave on a free. The clubs run by morons though so them not knowing the players can go to Uefa is normal. This after all is the same club that didn't pay Ribery his wages and he just left on a free and joined Marseille.

I said that they were a team that was hard to beat, you could see that in qualifying. They started shit and then went on a run of 1-0 wins. They did the same in this tournament, they played football in a way you would not associate with Portugal. It worked though and they won without Ronaldo. What drama though, your best player gets injured, goes off in tears and you still win. Gotta give it to the team, they defended perfectly. Pepe however much of a cunt he is was outstanding, he threw up at the at of the game. They all played well, even guys like Nani and Quaresma were running back to help their defense.

Portugal did to France what Greece did to them 12 years ago. Everyone was raving on about France after the Germany game but people forgot that the Germans dominated the game and the French capitalised on two awful mistakes by the Germans.
