Yeah everyones hoping for PSG to go out.
With Besiktas we would have been a bigger threat if we were able to sign Aboubakar at the beginning of the season. He was on loan last season and did a good job, Porto just wanted 6million euros for him but because of financial fair play Besiktas could not buy him. Now look at him at Porto the mans on fire. How can we improve when we cant even buy a player for 6million? The money is there Besiktas has been making a profit for the past 2 seasons, being champions, money from Europe and the new stadium is full every game. Yet can't do anything, can't improve in any way thanks to UEFA.
I would have given us a chance if Ancelotti was still around but yeah its really disheartening drawing a team like Bayern.
75million for Van Dijk so Liverpool can finish at best 3rd. madness.
The money Guardiola has spent on Man City's defense is more than Latvia's fucking actual military defense budget.
Sane gets injured and they bid 60million for Mahrez, its fucking ridiculous. I wonder what Guardiola would actually do if he didn't have such a cheque book?

lolwhut.. guess no wall then..
Got to say it's been a disappointing season overall. Only serie A got a little interesting but no one was going to beat Juve at the end of the day. All the other leagues were finished by the winter.
I totally predict a shit world cup to. Spain will win.
i expect a decent world cup, with some new team surprising everyone and winning it.
Don't know what to fucking say. First of all fuck Sergio Ramos I am fucking certain he did that on purpose.
and Karius for fuck sake you don't even see such errors on a school playground. Champions league final and the man has a meltdown in goal.
soccer player Ronaldinho is marrying two women at the same time.
Well the World Cup is upon us.
Straight away we get some good ol politics. Nike is not going to supply the Iranian players with boots because of some man child. I think its such a bitch move by Nike, it seems petty and not that important but to fucking do a team like this right before the tournament starts is just cuntish behaviour. I'd love to see a few big name Nike stars ditch the brand over it. Never gonna happen ofcourse.
Anyway we are possibly in for one of the worst opening games. Saw Russia against Turkey in a friendly and Russia were pretty bad against a piss poor Turkish side. The Saudi's actually looked threatening against Germany, in the second half atleast. but still they should have atleast tried to have a Russia-Uruguay opening game. Uruguay along with Belgium are my dark horses. That Uruguayan attack is just dirty and they are incredibly solid at the back. If the midfield can pick up the tempo they can take some serious scalps. Belgium is just a shitload of talent that at a minimum should get to a semi final.
Speaking of ze Germans they have looked quite bad in the friendlies, no Sane in the team seems to have caused a stir but I think it shouldn't effect them at all, his performances for the national side have been 'average'. Can't say I wasn't happy to hear Gundogan and Ozil both get booed by German fans. Should of picked Turkey, then atleast they could take as many pictures with our Sultan as they wanted and have a good rest every summer while chilling out with Arda Turan.
Russia probably BOUGHT that opening game. LOL how weak was Saudi Arabia?
And also : how weak was Russia?
I'm sure SA players get paid well but you'll still have a hard time convincing me SA players/coach/whomever weren't leaned upon or paid. MAHNEE!
5-0 is just ridiculous lmao. Russia was so weak in those final 7 games leading up to the WC.
Very poor opening game. But then mostly they are.
Shoutout to HANZO, looking forward to your footy predictions.
Durag, Rame and Masked Avenger : very much looking forward to your contributions too. The best summers are the WC summers!!
Lukaku and Cavani for top goal scorer. Get on I. Good money
Good picks imo.
Spain-Portugal VERY exciting game
lol Iran is group leader now. that's not gonna last long
Saudi Arabia are just bad so no surprise they got beat like that. The defending was horrendous at times but even so this Russian team is old and slow with no creativity apart from Golovin. Lets see how they fair against Egypt (with Salah) and Uruguay.
As for Uruguay they need a bit of width in their play, they need to feed Cavani and Suarez. Suarez looked like dirt in the first game but Cavani was on it. His technique is excellent could of scored 3 epic goals. The team looked like trash but Uruguay if they get into a rhythm with the defence they got they could just be the Italy of the tournament. Winning games by playing shit.
Morocco shot themselves in the foot, they were a better side than Iran but im happy Iran won, apart from the boot thing i didn't know teams cancelled friendlies with them because of diplomatic pressure which is just ridiculous, one of those nations was Kosovo which is just disappointing. Thats it for them though they aint beating Spain or Portugal. As for that game great stuff. Spain played some amazing football at times but were done by simple mistakes. The penalty, De Gea mistake and giving away a foolish free kick. The first Spanish goal shouldn't have counted either, i thought that was a foul on Pepe. I would have preferred if Andre Silva started instead of Guedes as he looked lost at times, Portugal also look better whenever Quaresma is on the field. As for Spain they looked solid apart from the stupid mistakes. Diego Costa off to a good start is important for them.
As for Golden boot I think Diego Costa can stat pad against Morocco and Iran. Poland are in a group with a bunch of shaky defences so Lewandowski can do well to.
Croatia up tomorrow. Let's go u fuckers. U BOJ! U BOJ ZA NAROD SVOJ!
That was definitely a foul on pepe.
Is there any country or tournament where video refereeing actually works?
It caused a lot of bad feelings in our national competition this season, the forst season with VAR. You got 3 people (in Belgium) together in a bus watching the game. How the eff can you still continuoisly make the wrong calls? Makes no sense to me lol.
So VAR used today and look it works. Don't know what Umtiti was thinking, France looks bland. It's all because of Deschamps and his insistence on playing Pogba, Kante and Tollisso. 3 similar players so they lacked any creativity or width. Just play start with Fekir and fuck Lucas Hernandez for the constant play acting. Aussies did well but offered no threat.
Thats where Iceland separate from the other well organised defensive teams. Iceland have a threat going forward. Every time they attacked against Argentina they threatened. Argentina just couldn't penetrate that defense. Though I thought they should have had a second penalty, where was VAR there? the ref didn't even have a look. Argentina yes they have Messi but this team shouldn't revolve around one player, its ridiculous that such a stacked team looks to one man. The tempo in midfield for Argentina was pathetically slow and I blame Mascherano for that, they need a more dynamic midfield. They played with a slow tempo and it effected the guys upfront and made it easy for Iceland to defend. I say all this but 4 years ago Argentina had the same problems and they made it to the final. They need to make use of Dybala though.
whay day does the tournament start?
Belgium has a lot of potential of course. Lots of dutchies support them or Germany but it's just not the same.
Germany lost lol, Mexico played with heart.
I think this'll be the wake up call ze Germans needed.
Yeah the Germans were awful. Muller, Ozil, Khedira were just slow and didn't look interested. Felt like someone brought them by force. The only German who kind of played was Draxler, everyone else was awful. Werner did nothing upfront. This is probably what the Germans needed though to wake up. Loew needs to beat them with a stick or something.
Mexico played with heart but they also had the right gameplan in the first half. Press the Germans in midfield and make sure that instead of Kroos on the ball have Hummels and Boeteng play it out from the back. They did nothing and on top they made huge mistakes. Kept losing the ball and Khedira just didn't offer the protection the centre backs needed. The Mexican gameplan worked great but they did wear themselves out and were wasteful actually. They should have atleast scored 2. More teams need to do this against the big teams, don't let them play. show some teeth and you might actually win.
Brazil also. They looked good for 20 minutes then Switzerland just came back into the game. Brazil ran out of ideas. I prefer them with Firmino, yes Gabriel Jesus is good but Firmino has the skill sets they need.
England and Belgium to win easily tomorrow.
I thought Neymar was ok again in the last few friendlies but idk what the hell he was playing at yesterday. Some seriously weak shit. And Willian ... dude was in lazy bum mode.
Predictably Panama parked the bus in the game against Belgium. The sloppiness of some of the Belgian attacks in the first half won't do against better countries. The second half was good (3 Belgian goals) but honestly, coach, why even select players who are active in the Chinese competition, which is sublevel. Let Witsel and Carrasco count their money on holiday somewhere. Witsel was practically invisible and Carrasco was clearly struggling in his role. He is now used to being an attacker in weak ass China, he doesn't know how to cover a whole flank anymore. He almost caused the Panamese to score.
Should have selected Naingolan.
Still an enjoyable game, especially the second half. Kevin Debruyne should have gotten red for his stupid foot-in-stomach, how dumb can you be as a player. Great player, I really don't understand why this hooligan/ballerina move was 'necessary'.
In the first games all teams have looked shit. For Belgium that was the case to but in the second half I thought they played well and the goals they scored were excellent, especially the second. In the first half the game stopped a lot, a lot of stupid fouls and it killed the momentum of the game, Belgium were walking in the first half literally walking. De Bruyne looks lost or is just unhappy with the position he is playing. Manager needs to sort a few things out but for now I think with the quality Belgium have they should win the group.
As with England they started really well but second half against a team that had no intention of attacking they didn't know what to do. In the end they had to rely on good set pieces and shitting marking from the Tunisian players.
i hear the ref has been checking player's drawls for skid marks
Iran for World Cup winner. You heard it here first.
winner of killing the most olympians?
So far it's been a shit world cup. 9 games have finished 1-0. Only quality game was Spain - Portugal with Mexico - Germany being an good one until the second half. Today was bloody awful, Portugal and Uruguay sat on a 1-0 lead. In the last world cup there were a shit ton of goals in the group stage.
Wow! Argentina bloody hell what a useless performance. Absolutely nothing in midfield, i can't even blame Messi. Didn't even get the ball in a good area. Croatia were terrific in the second half. So far got to say they look the best side of the tournament so far, Modric and Rakitic are just amazing. They ain't lazy either they were pressing Argentina like crazy.
I guess people won't be laughing at the Swiss anymore now. I got Serbian famalam (my sis is married to a Serb) so all is not well at Casa Towers haha.
man, these belgiums are torching tunis
It was actually quite a politically charged game. 4 Kosovans, 1 Bosnian and 2 Croats in the Swiss team who all had to immigrate to Switzerland because of the war. Serbia should of had a penalty though that 2 man faul was ridiculous but VAR not checking that was worse. I don't think the groups done though, Serbia have the quality to beat Brazil.
Belgium just ran a train through Tunisia but Batshuayi's misses lol. He could of got a hat-trick.
I'm normally very critical of the Belgian team (it's a national sport round here, more so than actual soccer hahaha) but yeah this was definitely HUNTING SEASON. A great watch, for neutral soccer fans as well. Glad to hear yall enjoyed the game.
lol @ Batshuayi having only about 15 minutes playing time and still having about four or so good chances
I'm very curious about the game against England next Thursday. It should be the first real indication of how the Belgians hold up against a good team. Then again, there won't be much to win or lose in that last game of the first round for either of the teams, so there's also that.
I have to admit Witsel and Carrasco were much better this time around than in their first half against Panama.
I'd say everybody did well this time around, although there was the occasional mix up in the defensive zone, which led to those two Tunisian goals
I hope Lukaku didn't injure himself. Haven't heard anything about it yet so he's probably alright.
