Yeah it was a pretty dull game. Constantly stopped cause both sides went real hard with the tackles. Argentina though in the end deserved it. Messi didn't play well in the final, I mean near the end he missed a big big opportunity he completely fucked up his footing. All tournament though he was pretty damn good.
Big final tonight. Surely England wins this, I don't think they will get a better chance. De-facto host nation a pretty comfortable run to the final where they play a good but old team. I expect a pretty boring match with England winning 1-0 or something.
I too think the Three Lions will win. Home advantage and easier opponents earlier on. Italy is a dangerous team but England will win.
I don't watch football much but I enjoyed some of the games I saw in this championship, Portugal and France were pretty entertaining.
I hope it's not a boring final that gets defensive or is too much of a walkover.
Also England sort of shouldn't have won against Denmark, the penalty shouldn't have been given.
Southgate shit the bed with his choices in the penalties. Nobody would have picked those 3 guys out of a team with proven entities.
Agreed on the penalty picks for England.
Good final to watch.
Yeah…… Everyone will blame England and the penalty takers but I think the Italian goalkeeper is a good one? Also I knew Italy was going to win but I feel sorry for England because I thought/was hoping England was going to win. My only hope is that England will win a World Cup before I die (Fingers crossed)?
yeah Donnarumma is a good goal keeper, esp for being so young. still not the best choices for penalty shooters on England's part
now on to the Nations League in October, which to me is a pretty pointless competition. but hey, a competition is a competition I guess
we're gonna get another match between Spain and Italy, will be interesting to compare the games. then there's Belgium vs France
IDK about England winning a world cup. the way they played during the Euro championship, apart perhaps from some of the games we witnessed in the first round that weren't all that, there's great potential there with the current players. there's always Argentina, Brazil, take on more 'surprise' Latin American team and one surprise African team who make it to the quarter or semi finals. fierce competition
I'm interested to see where the new German trainer will take the national team. there's a lot of untapped potential there imo
This was the tournament for England to win and they couldn't. Scored early and they just let Italy completely take over the game. At one point the possession was like 78-22. They lost momentum and Southgate was just watching. Also Italy were weakened. Spinnazola injured earlier on and in the game the man who was leading the charge Chiesa also went off.
They made a real mess of London yesterday as well, fucking hell it was packed. People began drinking from 6am.
Overall though Italy deserved. Better team in the final, they beat arguably the best team in the world in Belgium. They beat the best passing team in Spain. They beat the home team in England. Mancini done a monster job with them.
Ronaldo wins golden boot lol, I mean it just had to happen after Messi wins his first international tournament.
As for the tournament as a whole thought it was pretty good to be honest. The format with the multiple hosts was stupid and should never be done again as some teams got really shafted with the travelling they had to do. No surprise that the 4 semi-finalists were all teams who played their first 3 games at home.
Biggest disappointment for me was obviously how mortifyingly shit Turkey was. In the last 2 years we beat France, the Netherlands and last beat Norway 3-0 away. Everyones thinking with all the talent now playing for big clubs, 3 players from French champions Lille surely we should have done better. We end up being clearly the worst side in the tournament. The manager was fucking clueless and once again the players looked out of sorts.
The Netherlands had the easiest games and they still managed to fuck it all up. At least they didn't kneel, but aside from that I'm ashamed to be Dutch this tournament.
The coach was shit.
That too. But the biggest problem was lazy players. Millionaire kids too busy with their instagram and tiktok.
Some hardbody shit going down in France
When a Marseille player decided to throw a plastic bottle BACK at the Nice fans (after they'd thrown bittles at Marseille playerq during corner shot taking) the Nice fans stormed the pitch and roughed up Marseille players.
After an hour and a half the referee decided to continue tha game but Olympique Marseille refused to play stating some players had sustained lasting injuries from the fight.
Supposedly regulations say Marseille will now lose the game because they refused to play.
WTF lol it ain't safe no mo'.
I hate Club Brugge with a passion (a lot of losers in my hometown became bandwagon supporters for Club Brugge when the home team wasn't doing well in the 80s and 90s - fuck them phonies) BUT they sure gave PSG a run for their money yesterday
1:1 was totally unexpected. Everybody was expecting a PSG walkover
A draw against the most expensive side ever is a big W for Brugge.
I don't think shit will be easy for PSG. They haven't really clicked yet. I do hope we get a CL season where some underdogs go far. Football needs clubs outside of the Super teams to do well.
Newcastle fans are delirious with oil £££ right now lol

^^those pics ROFL
One PSG player has her team mate's legs smashed to pulp with iron bars in what was supposed to look like a robbery / car jacking
the victim was in direct competition with the instigator for the same spot on the team

these hoes ain't playing around
Italy will be missed in Qatar. They owe it to themselves though. Jorginho should have scored those penalty shots in the matches against the Swiss during the qualification run.
I hope Portugal pulls through.
It's pointless that Italy and Turkey now have to play each other. They're both not going to the Cup. What the hell is that match for? How can either team motivate themselves properly for this game. Maybe just give some of the younger players the chance to play on this level and that's about it.
Imagine North Macedonia making it to the Cup (it's not a given yet). Basically they are a shit team. They can't believe their luck they scored against Italy in those last few minutes. They had shown nothing during the game.
Turkey blew it against one of the worst Portugal sides I've seen. We are so shit I just can't be fucked anymore, it's the same ol story with us. We missed an 80th minute penalty to tie the game, Portugal made countless mistakes but we couldn't capitalize and our defense as always is just porous. Stefan Kuntz the manager starts with a formation the teams never played, he plays guys who have been utter shit at club level and whats worse is plays them out of position. Hakan Calhanoglu is a fucking fraud who has never had a good game for the national side but is an automatic starter.
It was a hard draw but if we'd have won we would have Macedonia at home on Tuesday instead of Italy. 20 years without a world cup, it's absolutely fucking depressing.

add this to the reasons why Kids In The Hall hate the Swiss lol
I don't think this considered a real sport my nigga.
Needle spiking has entered Belgian soccer stadions. last week 14 spectators got injected and felt unwell
Media claim the phenomenon first turned up in UK stadions in October 2021
Some minors got injected too wtf. Fookin' savages. I hope they catch those cunts.
Meanwhile ... Man City! That was a close call. KDB is King now for sure lol.
Wild that Liverpool score 90 points over the past couple seasons, a number tally that would make them champions in any other season but yeah Man City are just unbeatable at this point.
Mbappe with the biggest contract in sports to. Where is football going. You have 2 clubs that dominate all and have just signed/kept the two biggest young stars in the game. Mbappe's contract is ridiculous, 300m euro signing on bonus, 100m euro a year salary and on top of all that he gets to make the decisions at the club.
Macron was involved in the Mbappé negotiations. How crazy is that?
Go Feyenoord go tonight! Cyriel Dessers make the lowlands proud.
Thibaut Courtois is god.
It started with the PSG game, he made same top tier saves there to keep Madrid in it. Has to be the toughest run a teams gone through to win the tournament. PSG-Chelsea-City-Liverpool arguably 4 of the 5 best teams on the planet if ppl made a list at the beginning of the season. They parked the bus in the final no doubt, it was Liverpools to win but they just couldn't score. 63rd game of the season I just think Liverpool in the last couple weeks just ran out of gas. Especially guys like Salah who also played in the African nations just had nothing left in them. Real Madrid are just the GOAT club.
Germany VS England for the women's Euro Cup : classic final line up
Napoli may have the best attack on the planet.
Let’s talk about it
This world cup final is wild. Incredible match.
IÂ’m glad Argentina won (They were definitely the peopleÂ’s choice)? Some teams were unlucky and probably played a better brand of football but at the end of the day experience counts and thatÂ’s probably what gets these top tier teams through to the final and winning the WC so much. I really hope next World Cup and beyond some other teams start coming through and winning? ItÂ’s getting a bit boring seeing the same teams in the final and winning it all the time?
^ I would have liked France to win, just to mix it up. I find myself rooting for whatever team looks like they're gonna lose in the first half.
RIP to Pele´
Cristiano Ronaldo is about to earn himself some pocket change in the desert
What everyone think of the world cup? thought it was brilliant, great games, great excitement and pretty much the fairytale with messi winning it. Belgium, Germany and Spain were utter shite in it, and the squads they have. Interesting that Canada had Morocco and Croatia who got to semis and the other team was Belgium, truly the group of death
Analysis on point. Going in, being Belgian, I knew 1/8th finals was the furthest Belgium would go. They didn't even achieve that lol. We now have a new coach called Tedesco. We'll see. The generation that's now saying goodbye should have won prizes, the momentum is definitely over now - it's been over for 3 years at least.
In retrospect 'group of death' yeah sure. But honestly nobody was expecting much from Morocco or Canada going in. And Croatia was 'getting on in years'. Croatia still delivered.
I don't see Morocco repeating their stunt. It annoyed the crap out of me that those dudes were always complaining, putting on a big show that they were being wronged by referees throughout the tournament. How so cunts, you got next level didn't you?
Germany stays losin'. They have good players for sure, in theory they should have gone on in the last few tournaments. IDK, coaches maybe?
Spain : today's players are nothing like the previous generation. Flaccid peen stuff.
lol @ Ronaldo's downfall
Next time round? Brazil beats Argentina. In the first half of the tournament people will hype Switzerland for the same obtuse reasons they did for the last few times. (Honestly, fuck Switzerland.) Some freak nation nobody expects will reach the semis and will go down bitchin' Morocco style.
Yeah, the World Cup was good fun. Looking forward to the next one.
Fifa's probably stupid enough to organize a world cup in Israel. Mark my words, that shit is going down in our lifetime. They'll have games in Jerusalem and shit. They'll make Palestine kiddies hold footballers' hands and stuff.
Trust me, they'll do Israel before they go to central Africa. Which is where they should go but they don't have the balls for it.
Imagine a world cup in East Congo. Nobody gets out alive. I'm up for it.
^^TL; DR : fuck Switzerland
Gerard Pique's seven aside 'King's League' is *really* taking off in Spain atm

lol crazy rules but very attractive to watch, I'd wager
I would guess people who think soccer is 'too slow' might find this to their liking
