To me this is one of the best songs I've heard from ghost.. I've never heard ghost rip a story like this and that's saying something.. Just sections like this:
These fuckin' maricons on the couch watchin' Sanford and Son
Passin' they rum, fried plantains and rice
Big round onions on a T-bone steak, my stomach growling yo I want some
Hold on, somebody's comin', get behind me, knocked at the door
Act like you stickin' me up, put the joint to my face
Push me in quickly when the bitch open up
Remember you don't me, blast him if he reach for his gun
Shit is straight up raw... What do you guys think? How much you
this song?
it's not top ten, Ghost has way too many classics, but it's probably top ten post Supreme Clinetele
Yea far...I mean far from top ten
i disagree as well, but if thats how much you like it....
No one deserves this as much as Ghost. This is going to get him a bigger budget and more craetive control for his next album.
:beer:To Ghost!
The skits are great in this album. They really help the flow from one song to the next.
Cant get my hands on it, fuck this shit.... Dont wanna order it online, just want to buy it in a store, but this shittown WTF
Billboard 200 chart.
http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/chart...11-50&g=Albums
Oh well, does not need the mass media to showcase hwo dope this lp is.
did you honestly think that album was gonna stay up there?
it still needs pushing, so many dope albums just get left to there own devices after they drop
i would be happy with ghost selling 250,000 albums... but the album was 6.99 ... so technically this is doing pretty toney numbers..
i paid £15!!!Quote:

Whats the worst verse on 9 milli bros?
Id say either Ghostface himself or Masta Killa... just a boring verse...
How about worst verse on the album?... prob go to Cappa on Dogs of War. He has that one ill line on it "got family that go to church, coming back like it dont work" but soon after it gets very redundant.
u gotta be kiddin me...that album went platinumQuote:

http://www.nobodysmiling.com/content..._Fishscale.jpgMost geniuses often spend their careers misunderstood. It is not until much later that these avant-gardes receive the recognition they deserve. I wouldn’t go as far as calling Ghostface Killah a genius, but he is definitely ahead of his time. His rambling rhyme style, seamless transitions and storytelling, along with his, at times, complex subject content make him difficult for the average hip hop listener to keep up with, but if you study up you can comprehend the emcee. His ability to paint vivid word pictures via his narratives, above par lyricism, and willingness to step out of the box has procured him a spot amongst hip hop elite. Who else has a discography that is so solid? Each album takes you on a deep pilgrimage through his imaginative mind while maintaining individuality and quality. With his fifth installment, Fishscale, Ghost hopes to continue producing creative and inventive work that is relevant to the hood.
Fishscale displays Ghostface’s versatility as an emcee. Ghost takes the listener to places they would never expect to go including; journeying to the depths of the sea and relating stories of getting his ass whooped by his mom. On the aquatic “Underwater” Ghost narrates a sequence of events about underwater mischief in which he chases mermaids beneath the sea until he reaches a holy destination. This innovative track puts Ghostface’s descriptive skills in the limelight. The sounds of rising bubbles, swimming sounds, and eloquent descriptions of the sea make this story come alive to the senses. His ability to make the words seem palpable is a talent that makes Ghost distinctive in his works. Who else could turn a track about an underwater pilgrimage, mermaids and treasures of the sea into some fly s---? Then there’s the comical satire on new school parenting “Whip You With a Strap.” On the J-Dilla (R.I.P.) produced, Ghost reminisces about getting laced with the leather glock (aka the belt) by his mom as a child over an old school inspired sample of the title. The track serves as a commentary on the lack of discipline being instilled in families now. This track also commemorates Ghost’s mom along with the heartfelt track “Momma.” Just Blaze and Ghost collaborate on “The Champ” in which Ghost triumphantly claims dominance over his native, NY. Ghost flows successfully and incessantly over the Blaze track in his usual manner. All the members of Wu Tang come together on the track “Nine Milli Brothers” to spit over the MF Doom track. U-God puts it accurately when he says, “the rat pack is back.” Each emcee delivers their own piece to the puzzle bringing back nostalgia from those Enter the Wu and Forever days. Raekwon, the Chef, makes a couple of appearances on Fishscale including track “Kilo,” “R.A.G.U.,” and “Three Bricks.” “R.A.G.U.” has Ghost and Raekwon doing what they do best; painting a cinematic portrait of a guy that Raekwon has some beef with. The album ends with the climactic “Three Bricks” a collabo with Raekwon and the late great Notorious B.I.G. (R.I.P.) This track has Raekwon, Biggie and Ghost trading tales of their fatal encounters moving bricks and popping off shots at their enemies. The classic Big verse along with worthy rhymes from the Chef and Ghost serve as a good way to cap off the album.
This is real hip hop. Fishscale will undoubtedly be considered one of the best albums of the year. The production is on point and the rhymes are on point. What more could you want in the words of Phontay from Little Brother? Ghost finds some new acquaintances production wise including MF Doom and the late great J-Dilla updating his sound. As far collaborations, it’s a lot of old friends present. The soulful and humorous aspects of Ghost are still present throughout the album, which are represented in some of the samples and skits. This album similar to the flow of Ghost is a seamless listen taking you through valleys and peaks. I’d definitely recommend this album strongly to any hip hop fan.

Fishcale is he shyt aint nothin else to be said about it but "ITS THE SHIT" those 3 words explain it all go cop that shyt and holla at me when raekwons dumb for not making ghost a key component of the sequel this dude is FRESH ghost made only built for cuban lix how can u now give the nigga at least 5 tracks on da sequel?
^Your facts are backwards. It was Ghostface who was absent from recording sessions because he was too busy with other things. Not Raekwon deciding that Ghostface should be on less of the album.
great album
its not supreme clientele 2
cos its a classic in its own right
loved the beats
loved that cappa and rae were on it 8 times between them
9 milli bros is the one that ima keep comin back to
but i think the whole joint will get mad play
that review on top of the page was exactly wat i would of said, word for word, haha, nah on the real tho i copped fishscale ryte wen it came out and i been bumpin that shit since, got alot of deep shit and the flo was as always immaculate, much props to ghost for reppin the wu and i cant wait for that cuban linx, year of the wu kid
get at me-
The only major comparison between this album and SC is that Ghost did it. Otherwise they are very different albums and alot of people ain't respecting Fishscale for what it actually is. Its nothing like SC as its more streamlined towards drug dealing and the past. The album is like BPW and PT combined and then quality added and multiplied by 100.
IMO this album is not going back to SC, its moving forward from it. Every artist gets stuck with the tag of their last great success. Rae is still stuck on OB4CL, Nas was always compared to illmatic until he managed stillmatic but Ghost was good in that he dropped the tag of Ironman with SC being of high quality. Then he got stuck with SC and on 3rd attempt I think he's freed himself of that. Its great that he managed that cuz now he can move on to the next level of his journey through life and music.
disagree with shaolin darts
stillmatic was a very average album, no better than the albums he did since or before it.
its like cats overate that album so much.
maybe cos it got 5 mics?
i digress
just wanted to say the production style of the album is extremely fresh, very future sounding
nahmean
really unique joint like that
and ghost got some classic darts on there
is all dooms beats been that good recently?
i been sleepin
