but lmao at how this thread fell apart into a hate fest before it dropped and instantaneous write off not even 24hrs

very… more fish / big doe rehab / late era def jam sounding. As i expected.

if you hated those. You will hate this. If you like those. Youll be able to enjoy most of this. I already stated those are like 3.5 mic GOOD albums. This is a return to that.

but if you think its cuban 2 style.. its not. That was the exception not the rule. The name seems to have made people think the past 15 years didnt exist and ghost eas gon pull a rabbit. Some of these are not even close to as bad as yall making it. But yall already admitted ya didnt like the def jam run so its kinda moot point.

this is a very runnable album. Its not cracking ghosts top 5. Maybe not even top 10. Bur acting like nothing on here is good is a wu corp classic. He aint 25-30 no more. Hes 50. It you are here to compare it to that era your already losing.

if ya enjoy any of gjosts recent albums since 2010, this is better than all of them at very least.

There's actually absolutely no reason at all that it should be harder to make memorable hip hop when you're in ur 50s. I don't think anybody who uses that excuse actually thinks about it. Yeah you're less likely to have the drive n passion for it, but then don't even bother. Most people don't. But as far as ability goes, there's absolutely no reason age should be any kind of deterrent to making outstanding hip hop.

He literally said Wu paved the way. But to be Honest Roc Marciano & Griselda is on a whole different wave. Roc started this new shit thats going on in the underground for the last 10+ years. Wu at that time was starting to follow trends. Ghost was making tracks with Ron Brows "She's a Killer". Raekwon has been trying to chase the Rick Ross sound. In the end only Rza knows how to get them right but the issue is Rza beats aren't that great anymore if we're keeping it real. Again, they've moved on from the Wu-Tang sound.

Roc Marciano is just trying to stay underground and it's cool but he's never really been famous as Ghost and Wu been in the past. Roc has his style and he's very good at it but that's it imho. His new album with Premier is boring to be honest (but the mixing is 10 times better than SC2).

name 1 classic hip hop by an old man…. You sayvthat as if it happens all the time when we know it doesnt 99.9% of the time as all we do is yearn for the og album for 30 years straight lol. We all thought 80s rappers were done by 90s. 90s by 2000s. Rappers avg like 3 years at most before falling off…

Yall hate the stuff when he was 30 40 50 , asking for the stuff when they 20 , then say that all nonchalant like 50 yr old mcs dropping gems left n right.

Not understanding hip hop is youth culture at its core and acting like it has no impact is a disconnect. hence the fresh crop of new mcs on every wu record.

Have to give it a more gold listen but its a good album so far. It all depends what you are expecting. For me I try to be neutral to everything new I listned to. At least its miles better than snoops album missionary. That album is really really bad.

Jay Z dropped a classic album 4:44 at 52, Pete Rock & Common dropped a dope-ass album a year ago and they're over 53 and 55 respectively. Nas been droppin hot shit for years now. Absolutely agree on this. Check Nine he an older cat who dropped a dope album ( 2018 ) and lately some dope singles ( if you havent go check them out i highly recommend them )
Ghost even says something like " i aint trying to win a Grammy" . that to me says everything. Imagine a DH hitter in MLB saying i aint trying to go up there and get a hit or a homerun. wtf do i want you as my DH. This SC2 is good for putting on at work on spotify and let it roll. i listened to it last night on my earphones somewhat excited and i came away with like yea this wont get too many spins from me . Im not expecting GFK to sound or write like the early days but fuck dont call this SC2 just setting yourself up.

REALLY MISS RZA AND LORD SUPERB ON THIS SC2.

Now im looking forward to Method Man next album.

I wasnt expecting much but most beats are below average mixtape material... Raekwons new album is 10 times better than this mess. Rate 1.5 out of 5. Im way more excited for the Flygod 3 tape
