is any one going to watch the heavyweight fight this week
IF only Mayweather would fight the real top contenders not a washed up De La Hoya. After seeing wht Manny did to him, that win really doesnt mean much now seeing as Pacman dominated him moreso that PBF.
Come on Floyd man, your legacy is at stake. He is blowin it during his prime years. He's gonna be like Roy Jones and wait til he's an old man to take the big fights and get his ass beat.
I got Rahman takin it, that was not the De la Hoya I know that fought Manny that nite.
You must not know de la hoya...
He belongs playin church league softball, he said himself he had the best trainer in boxing and he still got destroyed... That's wen you know your time is up.
well he is just up there in age. what B-hop did was something that is rare to happen. and Rahman will be out by the the 9th round.
De La Hoya is definitely not what he used to be.
I always thought De La Hoya was an overhyped fighter, I mean he's a great fighter, but he's lost most of the big matches he's had.
very true he has. I thought he got robbed on a few decisions tho.
he did get robbed a few times... thats why hes still "up" there..
but now its clearly the end, i mean come on, he should stick to promoting with golden boy he doesn't need fights starring himself for money.
don king the game nahmean?? less painful and less potentially embarassing..
I think he wont fight again. he is smart enough not too, but I could be wrong
DLH did say that his heart is into boxing but physically he has reached a limit.
i hope he fights again, but i would only assume a rematch with mayweather or a fight against hatton, DLH would lose both, he knows that.
Anyone see Klitschko whoop Rahman's ass today? I don't think anyone is on his level (not saying much for the heavyweight class). Wouldn't that be some shit if the Klitschko brothers got all the heavyweight belts?
^^yah I was watching some youtube vid where some dude ranted about "Klits being pussies cos they dont fight good fighters".. but still he couldnt name ANY fighter they should fight.
^Maybe when he beats someone worth naming.
well he can prove himself now cos' apparently haye got himself a fight for june against vitali...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7782894.stm
hmmm vitali is the better of the brothers, and unlike his brother he does not have a weak chin. I have never seen haye fight, but I have been hearing about him. so tell me is he any good, and is he good enough to fight one of the brothers?
^Vitali has fought the better boxers, but has been absent since 2004 before fighting Peter (and he's at the end of his peak). That's about the same time Wladimir started improving his defense with Emmanuel Stewart. Wlamidir is not even close to the same fighter he was when he lost to Brewster.
So Haye dominated the only division weaker than heavyweight? I'm not trying to talk shit, but you guys get a lil too excited when your (british) boxers get passed 20 wins.
Im just saying that Haye will become heavyweight champion, i dont belive that wlad can beat haye.
and vitali is passed his time.
Its time for somebody else to step in and beat the brothers, and it just so happens to be a BRITISH fighter.
I think he wont beat the better of the brothers
mayweather might fight hatton again. that's cool, but why not fight pac man? (let me find out mayweather, that pacman has u in fear)
Nah, it's official, Pac-man vs Hatton May 2nd
Haye is nothing special, he has a pretty weak chin and leaves himself vulnerable to counter shots alot. The much bigger Klitschko brothers are to much to handle for Haye, their size and power is to goo for someone like Haye. I just don't see Haye being able to be the aggresser, like he usually is, against the Klitschko's.
^Should be an interesting fight. You know what weight class they are fighting at? Hopefully Hatton will do a better job than the golden boy.
Also, Vitali has some really nice pin-point accuracy with alot of his trademark shots. I mean, look at his right hand, he landed it nearly everytime when he throws it against almost all of his opponents, Lewis, Peter, etc. And the Klitschko's have the experience advantage, they both have like double the fights as Haye and the same amount of defeats. And I swear, British boxing fans go crazy over a homeland fighter if they go past the 20-0 mark. I mean c'mon, the cruiserweight division has been the only weight division that has suffured with worse competition than the heavyweight division. So that also may discredit the Hayemakers wins. I mean his major wins over bigger fighters ain't nothing special, they ain't even worth mentioning. The Klitschko brothers have been clearing out the heavyweight division for the past 8 years, clearing out every big name fighter, Rahman, Peter, Brock, Brewster, Lewis, etc. I'm just saying. Look at either Klitschko's resume's compared to Haye's; They are much more impressive.
I agree with you on that aspect that Haye's competition hasnt been as memorable as Klitschko's. But Hayes performances have been exceptional, despite fighting mediocre fighters, barrett hardly got a good punch through, Haye does have a heavyweight jab, good movement and great power, and has confidence on top of that.
Im not saying that Haye will dominate Klitschko and then knock him out, i believe it will be a tough fight and a heavyweight fight worth watching. Il definately pay to see it.
And when a british homeland fighter gets past 20 wins they do tend to become champions :)
the heavyweights got too big. They are slow and boring to watch in my opinion.
Valuev > Holyfield tonight.
This is going to be sad to watch.
I heard Holyfield lost a close fight.
Wooow, I'm disapointed in Valuev, although I'm not a fan, it's dispicable that he couldn't put Holyfield away at all through the fight, which he should have. Motherfucker was breathing hard after the 2nd round. Holyfields performance was terrible to, but he did so much more, and he deserved to win by a long shot. This is a disgrace to boxing. Holyfield knows he should have had that title around his waist.
I didn't see the match, but they said Holyfield was in good shape. Maybe since he almost won that title, he can go after one of the Russian brothers. Is Valuev scared to box both of the Klitschko's? I heard that Valuev is the heaviest heavyweight of all time. He was 100 pounds heavier than Holyfield.
Holyfield looked like he was in good shape, just didn't act like it. Just like Evanders fight with Toney, he looked good, just didn't fight good.
And Valuev is the tallest fighter recorded and he has the largest fists ever in the sport. But he's not the heaviest, no doubt Butterbean was heavier then he was.
My bad, Valuev is the heaviest champion of all time.
Haha, in that case, probably. I don't know if Eric Esch ever won a heavyweight title, never actually cared for him and there's to many belts to keep track of lol.
Valuev weighed in at 140kg (308lbs) and holyfield at 97kg(215lbs).
