the hand thing was what brubaker left the book on.
and roberto delatorre is drawing it.
thanks guys lol
de la torre's a good artist...hopefully they'll let him stay on dd instead of shuffling him around like they did on ms.marvel and iron man.
ya billy tan is doin the list...idk if i dug what i saw that much.
yeah i wasnt impressed too much either. i haven't been sold on DR anything come to think of it. the whole series doesn't seem to live up to what COULD have been i guess.
Tan doesnt seem to have left the early 90s era style imo.
^^^ya he kind of seems like a marc silvestri knock off bt his figure work looks kind of stocky and bloated.
and yes dark reign has failed to live up to it's potential, except for the odd moment of supervillainy backstabbing which is always entertaining lol
im so tired of complete take overs tho...somebody knock bendis off his high horse...lets get back to the normal status quo...eloels.
^^^when was the last time the status quo was normal lol
i hear you on the complete takeovers, it makes the books too interdependent...every marvel book has osborn and hammer in it, just like post civil war every book had shield and a requisite tony stark appearances. once this climaxes with steve rogers killing osborn (heh) they need to put books back in their own world and not have each and every one reflecting the current 'regime' lol
i don't think it's bendis so much as quesada letting bendis run the show...i really feel like quesada should step down and let someone else take over...most of the shit ideas came from his mandates (m-day, end of the spider-marriage)...and then he can go back to penciling where he should be lol
this is why high concept ideas like this should be fleshed out in their own miniseries instead of as line-wide events that takeover the whole continuity.
can you imagine a 12-issue series focused entirely on the cabal and the dark avengers by bendis and maleev or bendis and deodato or fuck it, let warren ellis write it, someone depraved enough to really make it count lol...and it wasn't crossing over with other books but was just telling it's own story? it would probably be a classic.
that steve rogers shit better be a joke...eloels.
^^^oh it is lol...if you don't think cap isn't going to be a huge player in the conclusion of this story though....
they need to blow osborn up when this is all said and done (humilate him publically and then take him off the board seemingly dead but with no body lol) and then he shouldn't be heard from for a few years lol
at that point they can start bringing back the collosal bad guys like thanos, apocalypse, magneto, etc, and have the heroes doing shit other than fighting each other or government sanctioned bad guys lol
cosign
he is practically ruining a universe.
not everything has to be so damned epic!
*edit*
i thought the Gov. Employed bad guys were probably the best part of the story tho. well... at least their introduction maybe.
lol kinda reminded me of one of them flicks where they recruit a bunch of misfits to save the day (mighty ducks 2, armageddon, the replacements... list goes on) but during each members entrance they have this "IM HERE BITCHES" presence.
oh definitely...
i thought the bad guys rising to power was chocked full of win, osborn's rise to power in ellis' thunderbolts, the cabal, the dark avengers idea...this is all potentially awesome stuff, but it's frustrating because it hasn't been taken far enough...bendis shows flashes of brilliance though...it just sees like every series is subordinate to this status quo except for the cosmic ones which kind of suck now lol war of kings was eh...
but maybe now it's coming to some conclusion, i think it's no coindence that they're doing the list one-shots, the x-nation plot point, and captain america: reborn at the same time.
...damn our thread keeps getting moved lower and lower...
we should petition this
comics should be up there next to sports or video games.
^^^it really should
this is getting annoying
hell it should be next to the chamber or ob4cl2
they should make the OB4CL2 thread the comic thread once it's finished being used.
ya i guess....i mean it was my idea to have this section in the first place...ill ask. ill just say, we should be moved up.
coo
i made a thread in the mod chamber about it
check these out

im waiting for all the WTFs in response to Old Man Logan..eloels.
y wuts goin on in it?
well it concluded...and...
SPOILER ALERT
basically Logan massacres the Hulk family and banner comes out lookin like the six flags guy..(lmao) beats the shit out of logan...reveals that he started the family by fuckin she hulk...eventually he turns into the Hulk and fucking eats wolverine.....................
eats wolverine..................
anyway, as u can image, wolverine fucking breaks out of the hulk, which kills him...he takes his little baby..Bruce Banner Jr. and heads off to bring law back to the country/world...w/e
lmao.
^^^sounds fucking stupid imo
to me the old man logan story got proressivly worse as it went on, millar just made a travelogue filled with badass moments rather than a quaity story...his dumb ass had the nerve to call this 'the modern dark knight returns' when the story has none of the complexity in terms of plot or character...it could've been so much more...millar has good ideas but his execution alot of time is very lowest common denominator and has characters acting completely out of pocket just to make fanboys go "whoa!"...hulk/she hulk incest? c'mon son!
Hi everyone, Just recently got back into the comic scene. Wow there's some awesome stuff I missed. I just finished the first 4 volumes of Punisher Max, Batman Black Cowl, Batman R.I.P., most of the Civil Wars stuff, and am in the middle of Sinestro Corp Wars volume 1. Great stuff!!! I have Corp Wars Volume 2 and the HC Final Crisis on order and the new Batman and Robins ( waiting to read Final Crisis before I read these 4 issues)...does anyone have any other recommendations say from the last 3-4 years I should check out? Any interested Spidey or Wolverine series'? Anything at all really based on me liking the above mentioned story lines..
identity crisis
anhillation vol 1-3
the rest of ennis' run on punisher max
batman: private casebook, heart of hush, joker
all-star superman vol. 1-2
silver surfer requiem
justice vol.1-3 (if you like alex ross)
astonishing x-men (by whedon and cassady)
i know i'm not thinking of tons of shit, i've already edited the post twice lol
spider-man is hit or miss--try new way to die and if you like that, get the rest of the brand new day stuff
i read the last issue of old man logan just now...the art is magnificent, but the plotting is awful...the whole stuff with the hulks i hate, he imported the cannibalism angle from the ultimates...i did like banner as the six flags guy but the incest with she-hulk is just ridiculous, where is she anyway? i do like the status quo at the end of the story and am interested in the sequel (how many people are going to bite off of lone wolf and cub though lol)
eloels...ya, OML was wild..i thought it was a terrible plot, however...i enjoyed the ridiculousness...and of course the art...McNiven is my favorite artist right now.
9th chamber, if you want some good comics with BOTH spidey and wolvie in 'em start reading the new avengers. spider-man is written really well in that series and it has wolverine in it as well as some other of marvels best. (cap, cage, ms.marvel, and so on.)
ya new avengers has been pretty good since its start.
no-sign... u had a great list but AS Sup was horrible.
I can see that annihilation would be on ur list but i ddnt find this entertaining... a synopsis to cover what happened for reference would do fine imo.
thats just me.
i thought Dusk's spoiler was just being more quick and to the point because of the she-hulk thing but damn.Quote:

just... damn. i don't know how to take that.
same way she did....eloels...jk
btw, if Gaiman does another Sandman...Tommy Lee Edwards, Alex Maleev, and JH williams...need to be in it.
^lol
hey we got moved up a sub-forum!!
^^^awesome
u didn't like all star superman?
it's one of my favorite superman stories ever and for me, an example of superhero comics done absolutely right? was it the art? it occasionally had the "i'm so fucking clever" tone that grant morrison comics have from time to time, but i loved it.
lol at dusk...
