If someone did a good job mashing up Windows and Rza’s The Grunge from BOP, that would make for a really dope track.
Also WTF, where is that Alchemist track Ghost played on Versuz!?

I have not listened yet, but it's wild to see the differing opinions here. Especially regarding the new Rae or Ghost being better. I'll find out shortly
GHOST should really retire after this no homo
@hiphopjunky
The beat selection is terrible you ll see
Just listened & 1st impression is LOVE it! GFK sounds so energized, hungry & ablaze w/ the pen game.

Interview on Power 106 Los Angeles. Ghostface tells us the origins of some of the tracks on the album.
Stupid link doesn’t work.
U either misread or misunderstood me. Where did i say 50 year olds drop classic albums all the time? I didn't. I said age shouldn't be a deterrent to making outstanding music.
Ghost is probably rich. From what I've heard he's a deadbeat father and husband, so he probably doesn't have many commitments that he actually cares about. He could've locked himself in a studio (or even a room at home with basic recording equipment and a laptop), and meticulously crafted an incredibly focused and inspired musical expression of what he envisioned SC2 should sound like, over the last 25 odd years, only working on it when he truly felt inspired to do so.
It wouldn't even matter in the slightest if he was at the top of his game as a rapper. He'd just need to deliver something he believed in.
Instead he gave usva mixtape of what r probably old leftovers that never fit on anything else or weren't good enough, and some so so new tracks.
As for naming classic albums 50 yo rappers did, i couldn't name a classic album that came out after madvillian or cold vein, whichever was more recent. Hip hop was only like 20 odd years old at that point. So age isn't the problem. It just became a lot harder to create a hip hop album that matters.
But look to K Rino as an example of an absolutely fucking ridiculously prolific rapper who has been around since the 80s n steadily gotten better with age, and reflected that in the quality of his releases.
Shit, he dropped 7 albums on one day a few years ago, n they were prob the 7 best albums he'd done, at the thyme.
I’ll bite.
im yet to hear a questionable Koop g rap album .
Where are RZA and U-God on this 4th Disciple track ?
How old was Jay z when he dropped 444?
Theres no excuse for sc2 sounding this bad
Shout out to Noel mentioning the GOD K-Rino who gets better with age. First intelligent thing that marsupial raping fag has ever said.
The saddest part about SC2 is that if Rza Exec produced this it COULD have been a worthy sequel. There are elements and building blocks here. And stop defending Ghost, he's lazy and doesn't respect you enough to put real effort and just wanted a cash grab.
The best example is 4th Disciple. He had the beat for ages, who knows when he spit a verse for it, but instead of going back and making it a song, just releases it as is. That's mixtape shit. Could have been so much better. There's good ideas and skeleton songs that could have been refined and expanded. Take off the useless weed carriers and put clan members on some songs and this would be a whole different story. This could have been great with just some.... effort. This is 25 years of laziness.
the LL/qtip joint was fire. Tribe album. Slick rick was good too.
they are good albums … but they aint classic. If they classic ghost got 7 bare minimum himself.
An mc dropping a gem past 40 is the exception, not the rule. . Idk any rappers with the rep of “each ALBUM gets better and better as they age”. Maybe g rap when it comes to greatness year to year. But after his initial solo run, nothing he dropped is considered a smash whatsoever. And even those og albums were nowhere near the albums of rakim nas wu pe etc. of g rap drops an alhum tomorrow, theyll be 5 people in the thread who even listened to it. And noone gon call it classic or be dissapointed if it wasnt
we disappointed because we know what it could be. Least i am. But if one didnt like def jam ghost idk why they are.
For every cuban linx 2 was a war report 2, doe or die 2, jose 2, muddy waters 2 and supreme clientele 2.
Whether they should be able to make a good album at that age or not, is a different story.. one would think yes… but the results show something different.
Aftwe 15 years of weak collab efforts, its obviously just business at this point. But People in here talking like this alhum is a complete wash 1 mic alhum … its not. At all
id say off rip, this album is closer in quality to those records, than those records are to their clsssic albums
edit:
oh hell na noel. K rhino?
you gon shit on ghost. His dope albums he dropped for k rhino. Lmao. Okayyyy
