The fight was close, and it's not like one fighter clearly won the fight. Which makes me laugh how am reading this was the worst decision in UFC history, like really? Have people just started watching UFC?

For a contender to win a title fight they will have to do a lot more to take that belt. You cant win 2 rounds or even 2.5 rounds and win. maybe even 3 rounds. you need to dominate all rounds if you dont ko or make the belt holder to tap
personally i give GSP 3 rounds to 2 rounds
first round Hendricks won but not by much... he dominated in most strikes 60 or so to 20 from gsp
2nd round Hendricks lost a step and gsp thew more strikes but not by much gsp took Hendricks down
3rd round and only round where a fighter completely dominated another fighter. GSP threw over 80 strikes and hendricks with only 20 and only 10 landed. Hendricks was completely gassed and his punches had nothing on them. I think this is were GSp almost knocked Hendricks down with a leg kick ...GSP laded several head kicks as
well
4th round. Hendrecks came back but didnt completely dominate GSP he just took him down and stayed on top only to throw a few good hits the majority of the round
5th round GSP took it with a few take downs and a submission attempt. both fighters did their thing on the stand up with both taking good blows and taking them
over all pretty close fight. Wish GSP did did better. He wasn't moving his head to whole fight and a he should of threw more kicks and more take downs especially the 2nd round and 4th rounds
Hendricks had some great power punches and almost looked like he would win the first round but just lost his endurance after that round and slowly went downhill in that department while gsp looked liked he could go for another 3 or 5 rounds after the fight. Both fighters have a great chin
Next up is UFC 168 Chris Weidman vs Anderson Silva. I want the spider to win, but I won't be surprised if he lost.
Last nights card was pretty good. I knew that Woodley & Lawler would win, they looked impressive. I think they should fight next. The Rashad vs Sonnen fight was disappointing. The GSP vs Hendricks was crazy! GSP is my fav fighter but I was betting on Hendricks to win. Johnny landed more of the power shots and defended well against the champ but I think that George landed more accurate shots and he did just enough to sway the judges for the victory. The fight could've gone either way really, I don't think that because GSP's face was messed up is a reason to say he lost. He bruises easily, he got beat up but not beat.
I said this to my niggaz yesterday after the fight, "the challenger will never beat the champ by descision in LAS VEGAS."
plus 1 for this and for what hectics wrote!!
On point! I'm sick of everyone saying Hendricks got robbed!
Only thing convincing about Hendricks was his celebration at the end of the bout !
Giving someone a bloody face doesn't mean you won the bout.
with GSP looking like hes retired the belt is up for grabs
Condit & Hendricks look like the next successors
Antonio Bigfoot Silva vs Mark Hunt. Im taking Hunt on this 1, he's a fat boy (not like Roy Nelson) but he's got knockout power & Bigfoots chin is ?able.
diaz fucked maynard up! didnt know he had ko power like that.
Bigfoot vs Hunt fight was 1 of the best heavyweight fights Ive ever seen. It was back & forth the whole way, bothe were bloodied up like hell. I cant believe it went all 5 rounds, I had Hunt winning it but Im not mad about the draw at all.
This FRIDAY- GSP will officially state if he will RETIRE or REMATCH / CONTINUE
Anyone going to watch UFC this Saturday?
Maybe. Half the names I don't recognize or don't remember watching.
- Does anyone care about the flyweight division?
- Can't stand Faber.
- Lauzon and Danzig are one of the only worthwhile fights. Half of me just wants to see what intro music Danzig comes out too.
- Sam Stout needs to get back on a winning streak. Chalking up way too many losses. I guess easier said then done with the competition. If he wasn't such a class act, would he still be in the UFC with a 7-6 record in the UFC?
- I probably should remember Chad Mendes since he's fought some tough fights.
Card is alright but no match-ups I'm dying to see.
I honestly don't even want to see a re-match. Hendricks was a dipshit and cocky in the Post-Fight Press Conference saying he only gave it 70%. Well, then maybe you should of gave it 100% and you wouldn't have lost hot dog! At this point, I vaguely remember the fight and it probably should have gone Hendricks way. It sucks that you have to beat the champ in dominating fashion to get a win but that's the way it is. If this was the old UFC where you fought multiple times in a night, GSP wouldn't be champion. He looks like shit after every fight, even though he plays it safe.
Dana White is also a dipshit in thinking GSP owes him and/or the UFC to continue fighting. Let the man start the second chapter of his life and take some time off if need be. This isn't golf. The amount of brain trauma being seen in the news from other sports these days is soon to carry over to MMA. This is pretty obvious and shouldn't make headlines. Anyways, hope he just relinquishes his belt and do what he needs to do right now.
heavywieght fights are the most boring shit ever. if i want to watch to overgrown steriod freaks smash into each other ill watch football. boring. they are too big to have much technique. boxing also. besides tyson. that mother fucker was a surgeon.
Jus Allah's promotion skills are rubbing off on Mac Danzig. Link
Right on!
Dana is jerk for even saying "GSP took a year off because of an injury"
Do you think GSP was enjoying himself while injured? he had to do a bunch of rehab and get his fitness up ! that whole year off GSP was rebuilding himself, he wasnt in Cancun partying it up !
I hope GSP retires because I know Dana wont give him the time off.
Besides hes been champ for like what 7 or 8 years now.
Hendricks & Dana showed their true colors after that fight.
I really thought Hendricks was this humble guy, but man he's far from it!
hes still bitching about the fight !! zero class!!
Look at Gustaffsons vs Bones, Gus showed class and didn't bitch about losing!
He's not even given a rematch either !
Agree with both these posts 100% How you going to say you only gave it 70% and then cry about it because you lost the decision? Was too close to call imo. Not a GSP fan but if they do have a rematch I hope he beats Hendricks just for his whinging. If he retires he should give Dana a slap as a parting gift lol
yea, 2 lunch boxes smashing into each other
womens mma is more tactical
I enjoyed the women bouts
GSP relinquishes his title. He might come back to the sport, but i don't see it happening. His contract with the UFC has been frozen, so if he does comeback he will see out that contract before signing a new one or extending it.
I don't see GSP returning tho. He has made a ton of cash to live for the next 10 lives.
Looks like it will be Lawler VS Hendricks for the title.
I wouldve preferred Condit vs Lawler to fight Hendricks (while he recovers)
but its what it is. Condit will most likely fight the winner of the 2 which alot of people are favoring Hendricks.
Going off GSP's latest interview, I really don't see him returning either. He went on about how Lennox Lewis retired at the top of his game and still young.
Might not be a factor for GSP but I'm not sure the big money will be there if he returns in terms of sponsors and even contract. Perhaps I don't envision the financial economics a return would bring.
Condit and Lawler are in my Top 10 fighters I like to watch. I kind of agree with you that Condit vs. Lawler would be a good fight because I don't think Lawler is ready to go 5 rounds deep for the title. However, Hendricks doesn't have great stamina either for 5 rounds. Lawler vs. Hendricks is a good fight because they're both sluggers and good at wrestlers. They both last fought on the same card so no one has an advantage over the other for recovering.
Condit has always been a good challenger and is always dangerous, but he never looked dominating at all again Hendricks or GSP. He kind of fits being #3 in that division. I kind of think he would catch Lawler in a submission if they did meet and hopefully one day they do.
Nice win by Mighty Mouse!!!!
Heard Dana say he offered Diaz a. Rematch with Condit.
I just re-watched this UFC since I missed half the fights thinking it started at 9pm EST and not some 5pm bullshit.
Can we talk about Edson Barboza and his next-level Ken Ryu hurricane kicks? I thought Cerrone was a master of devastating kicks but if I blinked, I would miss a 360 kick from Barboza. I'm glad he pulled through and won over Castillo and chalked up another lost for The Meatheads and their gym. Who would of thought cardio would play a factor in MMA? Jesus christ, talk about gassing.
Anyone else want to jump through the television and strangle Danny Green? I prayed that bobble-head Healy connected with just one punch. Talk about being one-dimensional and going to a different game plan in a fight when shit isn't working. I couldn't believe after the fight when Green wanted a bottle of water just so he could spray the camera and the ref with a mouthful. What a knob.
I didn't realize Mac Danzig was a mutant and had midget legs and a disproportionate torso. I hope I never watch another one of his fights. Dumbo eared Lauzon is actually entertaining to watch.
5 days to go!!!!!
Cant wait for this, hope Silva takes it
Weidman will push Silva to the limit in this one - Perhaps it will be another Sonnen vs Silva
type of fight where Weidman uses his wrestling to grind Silva out.
Its a hard one to call.
It all depends which Anderson Silva shows up (there's talks that he wants to retire)
Rousey vs Tate -
these 2 really really hate eachother ! To the point where even the opposing coaches are almost jumping eachother.
Rousey should win armbar or some new submission shes been practicing.
Josh Barnett vs Travis Browne-
Winner of this one supposedly fights Werdum for the #1 contender spot while velasquz is recovering.
I see Barnett winning this fight and eventuallly getting a title shot in the spring. Would like to see Barnett win the title,
I met him live and he was a cool humble guy !
cheers
I hope Rousey gets her head smashed in
Ha^ I think everyone is rooting for Tate on this rematch.
where yall watching this? firstrow is acting fucked up.
vegas got rousey 18-1
get your fat chick to order it
she's a big boned chocolate delight
Leben's fighting style is so one-dimensional. I need to re-visit some of his older fights to remind me why I like watching him. The fight reminded me a lot of Pat Healy's last fight where there's no re-adjustments or game plan. I'm glad Uriah Hall finally got a win. He fought a smart fight and looked good fighting a Lyoto Machida type fight.
I can honestly say I've never seen Gleison Tibau in my life and he's fought 21 times in the UFC. I must go for a beer run every time he fights.
That Travis Browne fight was a head-scratcher and over quick. Josh Barnett looked like a todler (and was still dazed) when he walked over to the ref for the arm-raise portion.
For the love of god, please don't put that gif in your signature. It makes me nauseous everytime the foot wraps around.
:yessad:
Not the result I was hoping for! Even if he does come back he's never gonna be the same after that. It's a shame if that's how it ends though, that gif is nasty 8O
Zuffa, LLC, owner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, released the following statement regarding Anderson Silva's injury.
http://www.ufc.com/news/ufc-168-stat...anderson-silvaQuote:
Following Saturday evening's UFC 168 main event, former champion Anderson Silva was taken to a local Las Vegas hospital where he underwent surgery to repair a broken left leg. The successful surgery, performed by Dr. Steven Sanders, the UFC's orthopedic surgeon, inserted an intramedullary rod into Anderson's left tibia. The broken fibula was stabilized and does not require a separate surgery. Anderson will remain in the hospital for a short while, but no additional surgery is scheduled at this time. Recovery time for such injuries may vary between three and six months.
Anderson is deeply touched by the outpouring of support from his fans and the entire MMA community. There has been no immediate decision about his future, and he would kindly ask for privacy at this time as he deals with his injury and prepares to return home to recover
