well that is a good question, sadly there isnt an answer to it. but i can suggest that maybe he had a good goal scoring record and is english, so they can be sure that he can produce the same performances for them. it was less risky then signing a foreigner. obvious flop though.Quote:

i dont know why i never brought this up before, i just thought of it for some reason.
but at the time he was bought defoe was still on their books. and their top 2 strikers are a lock. so they basically bought a 3rd or 4th forward at the time, for 16 million dollars. that is such a riduclous waste of money i cant even comprehend. maybe if they would have spent that on 1 or 2 good backs they wouldnt be sitting mid table.
and im not trying to rip on spurs excessivley, i actually dont mind them. its just the more i think about that, the more i scratch my head.

barcas defense is bad. saw them loose to valencia in the copa del ray today. first goal from valencia was a great strike.
they really miss messi too. bojan kinda plays like him, but not quite yet. and i dont think valdez is world class either. they should invest in a better keeper.
sunday is gonna be insane, gonna get a couple of blunts, go round my mates house(cos he's got skyTV), watch both games in a row.
