^^^i heard the new batgirl sucked, the artwork's somewhat bland from what i saw, the covers look great though...happy hunting on the sale though...the only girl i ever see every week at my shop buys all that return to wonderland, brothers grimm crap and tells me it's great and worth a buy lol

^^^same deal here, girl was probably mid 20s, redhead, glasses, emo-nerd-ish, and all she was buying was the wonderland stuff and fables...which i do read so we conversed about that...the t&a cheesecake covers turn me off though lol...dude if you're single, you should try to pick her up. Anyone who is actually social in the comic shop is a cool human being in my book lol Where I go, alot of the dudes look like sociopaths and barely talk, if they do they just mutter...or they are loudmouth douchebags wearing indigo lantern shirts lol
anyway, girls who read comics are hot lol... i got my ex into the usual stuff that girls will give a shot...sandman, fables, ex machina, y the last man, some x-men stuff...though I always got the sense she was just humoring me lol
i read batgirl #2 at the shop when it came out...basically, spoiler from the robin series is the new batgirl and barbara gordon is helping her out, there was some shit about weaponized drugs at a college campus or something, scarecrow probably...it didn't grab me, but i was stoned and kind of read through it quickly. It's just standard modern superhero fare, nothing special, not good enough to buy imo.

yeah the covers for RTW seemed aight till i noticed their whole catalog was using that "sex sells" formula (i.e. jack and the bean stalk or 3 blind mice with a sexy-bitches twist) she's a cool cool cat, more so than the dudes in the store.
i don't know why comic shop geeks all follow the same stereotype with the unhygenic, livin in they moms basement style or loud annoying kids that think they on the cool tip cause they "know" the dude that run the shop... and by KNOW i mean hang out by the register and bug him.
i always thought about hollerin at her but her area-of-expertise is VGs. im not too much into games and she always got some conversation goin on in the VG aisle.
thats pretty hott too now that i think about it.
for BG, i sAW spoiler from a mile away. barbra coulda stayed on with nightwing... woulda made some sense but i guess they wanted a whole new look.

i see no diversity in the aspen universe but bought soulfire off the strength of the art alone, i'd do the same with spawn but it's tracks never seem to lead anywhere too interesting so idk when i'd stop buying if i started.
i never bought any of the aspen stuff for the same reason i didn't buy the wonderland stuff...but women like the sexualized stuff as much as dudes, or moreso it seems in terms of comics...i like sexy girls too but these are comic characters lol...most of the people at the shop i go to conform to that stereotype...there's one guy who puts the new books on the shelves and shit, he doesn't even work there, he's just a highly considerate customer lol and he just mutters, hunched over middle aged guy lol

i just came back from the shop and forgot to get astonishing x-men and doctor voodoo and bought sweet tooth #1 (vertigo book) because it was a dollar and it's terrible lol
strange tales #2, house of mystery, luke cage noir, planetary, batman and robin, and zodiac look good but i haven't read them yet

strange tales #2 was as good or better than the first issue...this should be an ongoing series, and just broaden the creators to encompass...anyone really, telling out of continuity short stories...i just wish they weren't all humorous.

^^^the ending was somewhat dissapointing, with maverick's 'i'm fine, by the way' not being explained, andthe blackguard ceo surviving, but logan shooting missiles at the oil rig from the helicopter was badass lol
on the art front, yanick paquette is a good penciler, i think he's alternating arcs with ron garney. they better not lose garney, he's the perfect penciler for this type of book.

this is clearly a huge thread and cant read it all but did you guys finish up Old man Logan? IMO that was one of the greatest Marvel stories ever. Also just got the final 100 bullets GN excited to finish that shit up.
