With the script being leaked and the film being so close to being released it would look highly unlikely the Avengers movie could have any secrets.

We last saw the Red Skull (Hugo Weaving) at the end of Captain America : The First Avenger where he mysteriously gets teleported out of the crashing plane leaving Steve Rogers in the ice. Undoubtedly to return in one of the later Marvel movies.

From the current set of rumors it looks like the Red Skull will appear in the Avengers, this time not after just a cosmic cube to rule the world but the Infinity Gauntlet of Thanos with the power to rule the universe.

The rumor comes from a recent listing from HeroClix


Avengers Movie HeroClix set features heroes like Captain America and Thor as they battle the villainy of the Red Skull and Loki!

The part about the gauntlet comes from a mysterious spoiler at ComicCon when Marvel wheeled out the Infinity Gauntlet of Thanos. It's unlikely Thanos will appear in the movie just due to it not being 6 hours long and they already have more than enough characters to reintroduce.

This may also coincide with a few rumours that Skrulls wont make this movie. But instead an alien race of Hydra forces will battle the Avengers.

Either way most of us only have to wait till May for the official release date to find out for sure.

the latest issue of Empire Magazine, Marvel Studios' head honcho Kevin Feige has revealed a few new details about the mysterious army set to appear in The Avengers. Below is just a brief excerpt from the article, but be sure to pick the magazine up when it goes on sale later this week to read much, much more.


"Who said they were aliens?" he teases. Beings from the Nine Realms, then, ventures Empire? "Closer...It's not Skrulls, I've been clear about that. Beyond that, we want to hide it. The identity of the alien race is not impactful. It exists in the comic books, but we're not setting up the Kree-Skrull war or anything like that."

"Was Skull vaporised at the end of the movie, or thrust into another realm?" asks Feige. "That remains to be seen. It would be fun to see Skull in future, but he's not in this one." Whedon though is a little more circumspect when Empire confronts him. "I do have a comment on that," he says, before pulling a move worthy of Loki himself. "It's...oh, you're breaking up!"


Well, those Kree/Skrull rumors can now be put to rest for good it seems. It is also interesting that Feige points out that while they are from the comic books, their identity isn't "impactful". As for the Red Skull, it would appear that Marvel Studios definitely have plans for him in the future...let the speculation commence!

■Tom Hiddleston spoke of his role as Loki in an interview by saying, "I can tell you that it's all of them against me. I am the super villain. So it's Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Nick Fury forming a team because I've got so bad ass."

Why does it appear that Ironman is more of a leader than Captain America? I saw a poster of Ironman in the front while Cap is way in the back. WTF?

If this is true, I'm walking out of the movie theater. We all know that Cap is a firm leader. He doesn't appear that way in the trailers but Ironman does, though.

its because iron man has the most successful solo films of all the characters.

marketing strategy dictates that you put him in the front to show the general feeble minded public that downey as iron man is in this film.

on top of the fact that captain america isnt captain america in some countries. for these movies they just call him "super soldier".

i wouldnt get my panties in a bunch over all this. when all is said and done the movie will be about how these characters egos clash, and then they get their shit together to save the world.

Don't think it has, there is a crazy amount of clips out there for some reason. I'm ducking them and waiting on the film now though.

I've seen a couple of the clips floating online right now but I wish I hadn't. No more footage for me as I will be seeing it next week.

Hes n going to be. in fact Whedon & Downey wanted Ironman to be more of a lead role in it but didnt quite fit. He said Cap is more the main dude since hes literally thrust in a time where he feels alone & is just trying to adapt to modern times.

This had better be true because if not, the movie is a total ruin.

they'll probably have cap become the leader organically, after having ego clashes with some of the other characters...stark has rarely ever displayed leadership qualities or been an effective leader in the comics, let alone the way downey plays him...he'll try to be HNIC, but cap will prevail because he's cap'n goddamn 'merica.

i just want a scene where sam jackson yells at all of the avengers for their shortcomings to "motivate them"...he's one of the best actors for a screaming rant.

Anyways, I know I couldnt wait but I spoiled the movie for myself. I know the whole damn movie now lol

The Avengers will definitely have a large motivation in the movie when they assemble.

Yeah I cant wait to see a specific fight w/ Hulk. He was the one I was anticipating the most.

I've only watched one trailer that doesn't give away much, just gonna cop it at the flicks in a few weeks. Should be a good'un

Based on what I've read it looks like the third time is the charm for the Hulk. He is apparently the audience favorite and Ruffalo gives a great performance.

Avengers Was Epic!!!!!!


I just got back from watching it and I have to say, as a long time fan of Marvel heroes this movie totally delivered. It was well written, well directed, well acted, very funny in places and was action packed.

Everyone got their moment in the sun and it was definitely not the Tony Stark show.

Even though there wasn't really a team leader, Captain America was the one that everyone turned to.

Hawkeye and Black Widow are all sorts of awesome in this movie and they get a lot of screen time, especially Black Widow.

Mark Ruffalo was a fantastic Bruce Banner and the Hulk fucking OWNED this flick.

The movie ran for around two hours but it was very well paced and every moment was used properly.

This was a complete success in my eyes, it ticked all the right boxes and hit every note I wanted it to. Marvel should be really proud to have pulled this off and against all odds. With such a large ensemble cast and within the two hour time frame this movie really shouldn't have worked, the movie was able to convey all the necessary character development without bogging it down. I suppose there were some minor nitpicks but that's really what they just were...minor.

This was The Avengers in full team mode, working together all the way :)

All I know is...

Movie is 2:27 long
Thor & Ironman fight for a bit eventually leading into a Triple Threat when Captain joins the mix later realizing they all have the same goal. Hulk doesnt really fight any of the Avengers. He chases Black Widow in a lower deck of Furys ship (seen in the previews) but Thor does his best to distract him from hurting anyone else.

Most of the movie is on Nick Furys ship
