So this is.....Mathematics Presents - Wu-Tang Clan & Friends 2
So far so good. Considering I only heard about this album for the first time about a month ago, I'm pretty hyped. It's out soon and Mathz always brings it on the beats. This time he's got the clan with him on most of the songs.
That joint Pearl Harbor..just saying it now, that will be the hardest beat on there. Check that line up..P!
Sounds like this will be on par with legendary weapons etc. Hyped to hear that Mef, Priest and Chris Rivers track though.
Looks like redman is filling in for u-god, killah priest filling for gza and r-mean for eyez low from the last math albums
R-Mean who is featured on the upcoming album dropped a new freestyle track where he rips a few classic Wu beats..

No, that was already done. Check Mathematics Presents...Return of the Wu & Friends, which had some remixes of previously released songs and that. This is more along the lines of the "Wu-Tang"-billed compilation albums RZA put together which include Chamber Music (fully prod. by Soul Temple's live band The Revelations), Legendary Weapons, and The Saga Continues is like the part 3 of that, just fully produced by in-house Wu-producer Mathematics. On those, not every Wu member gets featured, but they link up with very talented and equally respected underground MC's which are dope collaborations. To me, it's in the same vein as Dreddy Kruger Presents...Think Differently Music: Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture, the first one, which was a heavy release at the time.

I knew rza would find a way to promote his shitty ass garments lol
how do you think wu-tang came up? in the early days it was constant self-promotion that helped push them to success. aside from Nas on OB4CL, there werent many guest spots if any on their early group and solo albums, it was all clan members helping and promoting each other. i wrote a 10 page paper on this shit in college back in 97
that's effin dope.
thanks. i wouldnt be able to pull it off today. of the 10 required, most of my sources were hip hop magazines such as The Source, Vibe, Rap Page, etc, even a High Times magazine. I dont buy any hip hop mags today. back then they were great especially without regular internet access. i think we were allowed one or two internet sources as well. i dont know how i was able to get 10 pages on it, typed(in a normal sized font), but i managed. i'm more old school wu-tang, i dont get with too much of this new stuff, many of the guys yall count as wu, are not wu to me. back then were the days of the original and official wu-tang.com site advertised on the Forever cd case. That was the first web forum i ever joined, then you had theDSC.com and Howsers wu site as the main news sources. eventually wu-tang.com passed the forum onto SeanD of theDSC.com i believe and everyone went there. skipping ahead, theres a few of the old wu-tang.com/DSC people still around that do or have posted here before...i left out a lot of history there, but its not relevant anyways, and i dont want to get started on the lead up to kennyrza and his WTW site. its just too much lol
the only reason i launched an attack on WTW was because of the way all the eurofags acted when a few of us showed up there after the DSC was closed down. never gave us a chance to be worthwhile contributors, labeled us as devils. there were some dumb ass people on that site too, like shaolins bloody sword. we tricked that guy in a thread to give us his yahoo email security question answer lol. and that french canadian dude jean was so close to giving me his password, he was a moderator and i was gonna cause havoc on that site. shortly after it was closed down. and that aint even close to half of what i done to people on that site. good times indeed.
The album is already being sold somewhere cause it's on Discogs now

It's matter of hours to leak it
GZA is on this album "If What You Say Is True"
Sounds dope for the most part.
When is this dropping?
It drops this Friday... And GZA isn’t on this.
Doesn't sound that dope
Gza is on it,listen to the snippets
To me, some of these beats sound like instrumentals that would have made it onto wu-projects in the late 90's and early 2000's. This is a solid album. I like most of what I've heard so far. We'll still have to wait for the full album though. I'm not feeling some of the r n b artists on here tbh.
i'll wait till friday but good to hear they got GZA on there after all
Only listened briefly, but not immediately blown away by those snippets - but they are just that: snippets.
Need to wait to hear and digest the full project, of course.
"People Say" is cool - I definitely bump this. But it is very much in the same vein as Keep Watch from ABT - i.e. a wu-ish sounding loop, but with a live vocalist made to sound a bit like a sample... hopefully there is some more heat on this album.
Hope U-God is on the track also.
From the snippets, i think it will be a good compilation. Superior to ABT for sure. Nothing groundbreaking to be honest but nothing wack aswell. Like CL2coming said, it looks like live instrumentation, not samples. Beats are very clean.
That's the main problem for me. Wu-tang can't be wu-tang without dirty piano and violin loops. But well, at least this one looks decent.
Yeah - had a better listen to the snippets. Sounds like there might actually be some bangers on there. Look forward to hearing in full.
Re: the beats sounding clean - Math acknowledged this in an interview, where he talked about wanting to capture the old wu sound, but clean it up so that tracks don't sound out of place played next to new/modern tracks. And he talked about listening to both Enter the Wu-tang and Dre's 2001 for inspiration.
Yes he is
Who is? U God? If so, how do u know?
It is shocking this hasn't leaked yet. Very impressive!
Intro, track 14 and outro (same beat) remind me of I Can't Go To Sleep. Which is good of course.
These snippets sound better than anything Wu-Tang related I've heard in a long time.
I've checked only a few snippets from it and maybe I'm bitching and maybe I've become a whiny-ass punk, but I don't feel that Math's productions almost at all. I don't know why but it sounds like nothing fresh and nothing that I would like to hear more than twice max. It's actually sad 'cause I've been in love with Wu for so many years and I'm starting to really feel that they are not capable of recording something REALLY dope together. And I don't mean dope but REALLY dope.
Damn, albums like Iron Flag or even OB4CL II sound so great comparing to this one and I don't even consider them close to Wu classic.
It's funny to me when Math says he was inspired by Wu's 36 Chambers and Dre's Chronic 2001 but this album sounds like nothing from those two mentioned (at least the part I've heard so far). I know being inspired by something doesn't imply that it should be a exact copy but I don't feel any vibe on "The Saga Continuous" that could be compared to RZA's or Dre's works.
You can add me to that list!! Math seems like a real cool and humble dude!! I been watching the interviews. BUT, as far beats go man Im not feeling it. He got a few but his drums are just so thin and clean man. What happened to the dusty grimey beats?? If i listen to that Cilva beat album he just dropped like someone just said its a cryme nobody used those beats! This is far from a masterpiece and its not a Clan album neither!!!! I feel rza is doing the same thing again as with OUATIS! Only OUATIS actually comes across like a real clan album and this like a Mathematics compilation! And an average one at best. C'mon Math! Give us beats like SNUFFED OUT !!!!!
