You think the agreement Shkreli signed would be transferred to the government then to the buyer if auctioned by said government.
Good luck with that

Who knows what the legal system will do with the album, but it'll be more amusing than whatever's on it.
this is a nice rebuttal. i always find the infighting within the clan petty and a poor reflection on all involved - but it's difficult without being privy to all the details to know who's in the right. the points you make don't exactly invalidate the member's claims to revenue from the album, but it is an insight into how rza has operated the group.
all this said, i think people here were just generally annoyed and amused that you talked about this album for so long, many were looking forward to it, but then you revealed there would only be one copy and no one could hear it and it was now a "wu tang album". seeing this being glowingly reported on in mainstream media just seemed laughable to anyone who had been following it here. everything that has happened since has just added to the ridiculousness of this album.
the discussion of whether it's a "real" clan album or not has just stemmed from this disgruntled foundation.
well, yeah, that is a fake clan album... it's a mathematics compilation album.
everyone here knows that a clan album is:
1) Almost entirely produced by RZA
2) Featuring all members performing at least several verses each - often 4, 5 or 6 on each track.
the second criterion has eroded with time, mainly due to clan members being petty fucks, but generally, the albums fit these criteria - and Math's bullshit and your album do not.
(for the record, this doesn't matter at all to me - i just want to hear good albums - but the fact that maths albums and yours suddenly became "Wu-Tang Clan" albums out of nowhere is pretty funny)
First off, I’m saying it’s a different thing and not fake! ”The Saga Continues" is called a Wu-Tang album, and not a Wu-Tang Clan album. Maybe I’m just being petty for seeing a difference between the two labels? I know I’m not the only one that does that though but maybe since it’s not an obvious difference, maybe it’s not a big deal for everyone. That’s what I’m talking about anyways, and what I believe many other people (including Wu members) are too.
So if any of the other producers you mentioned would do a similar project to ”Once Upon A Time In Shaolin”, imo they'd not be any more official than yours.
Though, if the members know about the recordings being for a Wu-Tang album, that's a difference. Not saying it’s better though! But when y’all agreed on the payment, did they know the plan for the project? Because from my point of view, if it’s a one-time payment, you’d maybe ask for less if it’s a verse that you believe is going to be featured on another artists project. If it’s for a release under the name of your own group and you’re only getting a one-time payment, I’d wan’t more! And if it’s a special deal like this one going down, I’d also feel a bit tricked if I didn’t have that information when I agreed on the amount of the payment.
Big up on replying, it’s an interesting discussion imo and that's what I'm after, not to attack you personal even if we might not agree on certain things!
Would love to show you the release forms with everyone, you'd see the whole thing much clearer, unfortunately I'm legally not allowed to.
Ducked me bringing up the recent interviews wus done shitting on the project. Bout 3rd time thats been dismissed. Noted
Your comparing your Album to maths.
Math is a RESPECTED producer thats been on wu albums for years. You have TWO beats on wu albums, which must number in the 60s by now, and math has 50 beats.
Rza okd maths album and the MEMBERS okd maths album which is why its actually RELEASED
And true DID do a wu album except he used his own name for it instead of leeching off the wus name. Your album would do worse than his stop acting like you did this for any other reason except personal gain. This shit is tiring hearing you spin youre web of excuses.
Theres no excuses.
The govt holds yur album. They can sell it to anyone they want now; and im sure theres gonna be some heavy sampling lawsuits that come from this cuz you didnt clear any. You can deny any of this gon happen but you sold the album in america not morroco so you dont know whats gonna happen. And a piece of paper sayinf an album cant be hears for 88 years aint gon help matters.
You know some fbi wu stan is rippin that shit to his conputer RIGHT NOW. In the end itll be an mp3 album mark my words
So not only did you scam the wu to make yur album, you robbed the artists that provide the samples for “your” beats.
Keep slithering cilvaringz. Someone needs to teach you a thing about moral and business ETHICS cuz you broke EVERY rule to get your music this phantom “hype” cuz you know damn well NOONE cares about the music on here, they care about the spectacle. They care anout everything ELSE about it other than its a hip hop album.
You are NOT 4th disciple or math or true master. You aint even bronze nazareth. You not even arabian knight. Or supreme. Or ykim.
I dont wanna hear about these forbes articles Again until you address ugods book, meths tbs interviews and wus appearance on drink champs.
The Gov can set any terms they want. Are you going to sue the feds? They can make the terms anything they want to any buyer
and why not? i mean perhaps they cant release it commercially to profit off it, but they certainly wont be bound by the terms of the shkreli contract. as thats something they didnt sign. i think that contract is pretty much void once the feds confiscate it.

Wu "ontology" discussions are always tedious and boring, but in this case it's simply absurd to discuss who's album it is for the simple fact that until it is "issued" (for people to buy), it is not an album at all! For all intents and purposes, it is about as real as The Cure, The Abbott and the Drunk Monk, Swift & Changeable or any Shaka Amazulu project. But no doubt it's a hell of a story! And as far as that goes it has surely delivered (and I daresay even beyond the wildest dreams of Ringz himself)! And thus, whether you like it or not, it has been irrevocably added to the Wu-Tang saga. And regardless of whether you think him an upstart, a wanna"bee", a snake, a liar or just a bit of a prick, so has Ringz!
Peace.
Good to see U-God having an ad on the forum.
Is this a OUATIS related remark? If you think about it ... yes.
IT'S COMING !!!!!
http://www.wutang-corp.com/forum/sho...smx-is-coming-!!!!!!!
Hey "TSA"- fuckface, watch your mouth when you speaking of Mef with that tone.
Look at yall talking like you know it all again... lol... the government can do this, they will do that, bla bla... so desperate to see me hurt over this... try reading between the lines for once and think about what they mean by martin handing over his share in the album.
So if Feds have it n Marty goes to jail does that mean u can sell copies for 11.99 on Amazon? Get on Down site bundle for 49.99? I don't see y not at this point. Peace
More of the usual Ringz stuff.
Lol.
More of the usual Corp ignorance too.
Lol.
I don't want to see you hurt over this shit, if that was addressed to me. But it's the Feds bro. Share of this, share of that. If they find a buyer they could PROBABLY set whatever terms they choose.
But what do I know?
If it somehow leaks would you sue the Federal Government if they were in possession at the time? Or be like, well mission accomplished.. Would you be happy or disappointed by the leak?
Is the goal to have the music never available to the general public?
I'm honestly just curious, Peace
I cant address your legal questions re: government at the advice of legal council. A leak however is not in anyone's benefit. As we've always said, the value of this album hinges on exclusivity. Keep it hidden and it retains value, leak it and it loses not only its intrinsic value but also it's public appeal value. If this thing had leaked, nobody would be talking about it right now. But because it's played out the way it did, this thing keeps making headlines, major ones. Remember, on March 26th this will the fourth year since its initial announcement. What album has been talked about this much? What album has continued to trend this many times on social media? For me personally, that's an incredible achievement for something I conceptualized. To see it being talked about by mass media globally, make front page CNN twice, being tweeted about by the FBI, by the House Of Representatives, being discussed by Congress and now seized by the US Federal Government... I'm kinda anxious to see how much further this tale will stretch... So from that aspect I wouldnt want to see it leaked. I like seeing how far this one concept can stretch, for pure egotistical reasons sure. Mystery is everything.
And lastly, someone here said that it didnt matter how good the album was, if leaked it would always be a disappointment simply because of how much this has been played up. You'd always be like "hm ok, is this what all the hype is about?".. And I couldn't agree more.. For the sake of its legendary status, the best thing for this album would be disappearance or destruction. Spirituality outlives physicality.
I see an interview on the breakfast club with Meth. Dude reakons he has copies of the songs hes on from OUATIS. That legit or what? lol
hmmmmmQuote:
According to Mr. Bozorgmehr, when Mr. Shkreli was arrested he even offered the album back to the Wu-Tang Clan. But the deal fell apart in negotiations because, Mr. Bozorgmehr said, “No one trusted Martin.”
what do you mean "his share" in the album. did shkreli not own the entire album? Did he actually just pay for the one copy but not acutally obtain rights to the music in anyway? If so, that means you still own the rights? Would the album possibly revert back to you?
What Meth would have is what others would have.. a different beat with a similar bmp to the final version that noone has and he would only have an instrumental, not verses from anyone.
Like value of Picasso painting decreseas If people take pictures of it...wtf... Art's value should not be thought only in dollars, but that CREAM seems to be the only interest here.
I can't even listen to "I" anymore because of this bullshit.
I grew up studying wu and this shit is opposite to everything i have learned. Wu-Tang is for the children!!
like I said before ''out of sight out of mind''
while the concept is probably the only kind of any type of credit I can give you this still would not have happened without that ''W'' without the ''WU'' without the LOGO
shit without "THE ABBOT" howcome you didn't try this with Lin Brotherz or Most High Brotherz or perhaps with your real good recording friends when you were just starting to leech off the brand name. I mean those are your beats on OUATIS right? hmmmmmm your concept would not have gone anywhere without the real WUTANG CLAN magic behind it. So maybe that's why Clifford Smith says "Still prostituting my crew."
CILVARINGZ you are the one that has to keep reminding or posting new articles about this topic. you keep bringing it up. I don't wake up and think of OUATIS and go surfing the net for new articles or write ups on it. shit I only know about it because I come on this forum. that said man you better keep bringing this shit up til your old and grey cause like I said " OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND"
but no worries my real die hard WUTANG CLAN fans. check this out. http://www.wutang-corp.com/forum/sho...smx-is-coming-!!!!!!!
Appreciate the reply Ringz. I am a fan of your style so selfishly I would like to hear more generals over your beats in the form if this album if released in any way.
But I agree, it is insane how far this has gone. Never in your wildest dreams i'm sure and my stance is that the mystique of this album only adds value to the brand which is why i'm sure RZA backed it in full on top of the artistic vision.
Peace
Here's an un-related non-butthurt question for Ringz:
Was a CD the primary format that you discussed? Or a 12" pressing onto Vinyl?
I know Compact discs can expire after time. I don't know if the CD's would even survive 88 years.
Off topic here Cilvaringz. I just wanted to say I met Bronze Nazareth the other night and he spoke very highly of you. He is an extraordinarily humble guy and is just profoundly passionate about hip hop. Thank You for bringing such an exceptional talent into the Wu Tang fold. Of course I had to ask him about the Dom Pachino song and if you felt some kind of way about it and he told me he spoke to you about it and you understood. Once again, Thank You for introducing him to Rza and bringing in one the most exceptional Wu Tang representatives. He is an incredible live performer as well..
Ringz and/or Rza still own 50% of the recording copyrights of OUATIS according to that NY times article.
" The producers — RZA and Cilvaringz, a Dutch rapper and producer — also retain 50 percent of the album’s recording copyrights, according to Mr. Bozorgmehr, giving the group a level of control. (Mr. Shkreli has none of the songwriting rights, which are distinct.) "
Ringz out of curiosity how did you get the W logo on that LP / Box / Book now? Who can give permission to use it, U-God said in his latest interview he can't even use the W logo on his music now without paying.
How much did you have to pay to use it? And who has made it so that the Generals have to pay for permision to use it?
Wwodbd?
