where do you guys work that you could call in sick to sit home and watch wu-tang on hulu as soon as it drops?

How much more or good this series would have to be to get a part 2.
And I hope steve rifkind gets mention.
I finally got into some episodes. It's pretty good, and I think it has a lot of potential to get better in the 2nd half of the season and beyond. The fictional version is confusing my memory of the real history though. A few thoughts I had:
Popa Wu is in Central Park doing the speeches
The guy playing Power is literally doing a DEAD ON impression of Stringer Bell, mannerisms, voice and all. It fucking kills me every scene he appears in lol.
The guy playing Ghostface is not a strong actor, he's one of those guys where you can see the mechanics of his acting in every moment. Dave East is kind of wooden but I'll give him a chance to improve. ODB & Rae are doing a great job, the kid who plays RZA has his own interpretation but I think its working. I'm interested to see how they handle the other members.
I'm disappointed that they seem to be omitting RZA's Tommy Boy single, I hope they don't do that with GZA, they should give him a flashback episode to cover his Cold Chillin' era.
I think I saw Steve Rifkind in the cast credits as a character in one of the episodes, where was he?
Does anyone know who produced this cut from the Hulu show?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygrLEVOkcZs
I wish it was Ghost and the clan actually spitting deluxe bars on it.
This beat though is flames. If the next Wu album has this type of sound, you wont hear any complaints from me.
Sha they didnt even get to cold chillin/tommy boy yet. Thatll be next few eps
New episode basically tells us they going to ohio next season. I cant imagine they fit all that in the next few eps.
I dont think well see them form until end season 2 or season 3 the latest.
Shits a wutang deep dive. As a wu fan this blows a 2.5 hr biopic out the water. Im seeing way too many conplaints from so called hip hop fans fho. Wu always went over the general publics heads... this shit is mad deep...
YO no SPOILERS (yet) but eps 6 "Impossible" was the best one yet imo! Cant wait for the next ones... SUUUUUUUUU
Maybe I'm just being impatient, I don't think anything's wrong with the show but I'm confused on some of it's focus choices. I understand that they don't want it to just being a sausage fest with 9 male characters but, I really don't care about Jerome and Gloria. At least not more than I care about Gza.
its just they going for slow burn. They are showing a family dynamic; being rzas house was the spot, showing rzas family/struggle they go through is what brings them all together. His mom is very important to rzas story as he always tells of how she told him it was his last chance when he beat his attenpted murder.
The fact is it looks like we will see all of that which is sick to me. People seem to wanna watch this like a short movie and see all the highlights. I quite enjoy seeing the early dynamics between the members/their real life families. For instance, now it makes sense how ghost stayed with rza the longest post forever.
I have full faith they will turn it up story wise with the other members soon.
Off course this is a fictionalized version of what really happened and i guess im good with that, but other inaccuracies really fuck with me while watching.
Shit like them wearing mid 90s fashion (pelle pelle, kani, etc etc) in all the scenes that must still be the late 80s. There is a big difference in form & fashion between those era's and it just seems weird that the characters sport gear from 98 in 88.
Or RZA discovering/dissing mathematics and the 5 percenters in the park when GZA and Divine and a whole bunch of other cats already got their godbody names and they are obviously way past discovery phase
has this been given the go ahead for several seasons or are people just speculating if it lasts that long?
Love this shit man. I saw someone online say this show had heart and thats exactly it. So far weve seen the family lives of ghost, rza, meth and rae. Wu tang always had more “heart” than other artists imo as their music sounded deeper/more emotional, so i enjoy the slow storytellin here.
I also like that they are showing them struggling versus the traditional rap tale of “i was always the man”. In a way it shows them failing over and over. That will make the come up oh so sweet if we get season 2.
Andre is Melquan? Meth at showcases in 91 fucking it up?
I hope this continues and tells the rest of the story. I want atleast everything until wu tang forever. I wanna see how this shit played out. The attention to detail so far is ridiculous from the old verses from the demotapes (meths verse on get down for my crown) to raekwons spider chain.
One thing tho. I notice odb had a diff style in all appearAnces pre wu tang. Gza and rza have spoken that he used to be more low key intelligent type guy. Seems in the show he was always odb that we know. Just wish we could see more of dirtys development which we havent gotten at all here.
I mean i fuck with divine but id rather see odb grow than focus so much on vines struggle even tho he is wutang too. I consider him a true member; i understand the shurri/ghost shit and ohio move (ONLY if it pays off on what weve heard .. complete with ghost/rza shootings), but idk divines shit is stringing along mad slow.
btw. Here is monica lynch talking about early rza and his demo when he sigjed with tommy boy shown in past episode.

This episode is fire. I like that they expanded on Meth's story. I was worried for a min. Hopefully we'll see more DIRT, Great show
I gotta catch up with the last few eps. I read the latest episode is getting into the making of 'Ooh We Love You Rakeem' haha.
I think the Dirty story is going to be told less due to the possibility of a Dirty bio pic that's been in the talks. So they would keep his storyline for that seperately. Same goes for U-God who probably wants to keep that possibility open with his book as source material.
Does Rza always fuck with his pants on or is that fictional?
Today's episode started slow then got good towards the end. LOL at the original Ooh I love you Rakim video.
Rza actually looked pissed
makes sense, and hope so. I don't think this show depicts dirty accurately. Or at least the way I see him. In this show he's kind of an offbeat goofy kid, but every clip i've seen has just been a dude that's so brutally honest and in his own zone that it accidentally ends up being funny.
Would have been nice to have U-god in the series but its good enough w/o so no complaints.
only one man can answer this question
http://www.vogeltjesdansbende.nl/web...varingzrza.jpg
damn, i'm sexist as fuck. Tara Nicole Weyr is the director... not a guy
man lol. I literally said 'where the fuck is this going?'.
Also, I actually laughed out at the aggressive 5% dude. Shit made no sense. I said earlier on here that they should have started the story with Gza Dirty and Rza. That's 100% where the story is at. Because they started with Rza Ghost and Rae (and Divine) they're going to run into a lot of awkward shit and that's the first of them. They're trying to squeeze in the groups ideological framework like it was some passing convo between Gza and Rza. Then we're (if the show lasts) going to be expected to feel something when dirty spirals out of control or dies but they haven't really given us a reason to believe he has a point other then just floating around making random comments and being obnoxious (in a dumb way).
Rza was going out of his way in the beginning to keep Dirty in school and keep dirty on a good path. He's the only one from a 2 parent home and has a really close relationship with his mother. If they don't establish these things they're going to have one of those BET movie deaths where it's like 'ok nigga' lol.
Even Rza liking hip hop carries 0 narrative weight if you don't show Gza introducing him to it as an escape from the bullshit reality he was in. Then that idea growing into an aspiration to do hip hop, then him spreading it to other people in the same situation.
and what's with dude playing ghost literally never seeing or hearing ghostface in his life? He's literally playing 'generic 2004 Smack DVD battle rap thug' lol.
And I get them wanting to have more women and a romantic story and the one they have is really good (right now) but it's just going to make Ghost look like an irredeemable skunt in the end because he still hasn't matured relationship-wise.
Since they're having a hard time giving Method Man screen time (which is weird), his relationship with his wife and the GRAMMY-AWARD-WINNING-SONG inspired by it is the actual love story if you needed one. He's private about it so maybe that's why it's not there, idk, but the payoff in the end isn't going to work w/ ghost because he literally has about as many seeds as ODB and was recently on a reality show dogging some hood booger the fuck out lol
Chronologically, they’ve skipped past Rza’s attempted murder trial in Steubenville. Not to say they couldn’t go back and hit it with a flashback, but maybe they’re purposely putting it off until after the Oooh I Love You Rakeem fisasco as part of artistic expression to make the story better.
also, what’s this bullshit about rza wanting his soundcheck to be perfect. This mother fucker hasn’t showed up on time toa concert ever, let alone made it for a soundcheck.
LOL he literally made an artform out of bad sound quality. I'm pretty sure wutang soundcheck = arriving to the show 2 hrs late and yelling "fix the fucking mics" during Criminology. I don't get the point of that entire scene. They just kinda had it and dropped it.
I think the kid playing him is schitz. His interpretation of Rza is cool cause it's consistent but I really wonder where the hell it came from. He hasn't looked anyone in the face all season lol. Textbook asperger behavior. He also has the charisma of a wet pube but I think that's a 'new generation' thing. Though the guy playing Divine plays Divine better than Divine
I don't think rappers should be involved in their biopics. Or any musician. Wutang has done the best job so far other than Eminem with 8 Mile, but they're not going to include smoking crack and dust, Rza catching a body (which was literally a pivotal moment for him). etc. Also didn't method man get shot in the leg? Wouldn't that be a better explanation for the cane than 'the only person here that has shown exceptional physical ability pulls a muscle and can't work'? lol Maybe Dave East's limits as an actor and Meth's being private got in the way. Idk.
Only 3 episodes left. Haven't felt the climax yet.
just got HULU and went two episodes in, i'm actually pleasantly surprised about how well made the series is so far
I think my only annoyance is the actor that plays RZA. Any other actor I can visualize the Wu member being in that position except him. Especially his voice tone/ lack of a speech impediment. He doesn't strike me as RZA-esque at all
I got used to that within a few episodes, its more of an interpretation of the character in the writing instead of what the other actors are doing to various different degrees, impersonations.
For me the hack who plays Ghostface is the guy who brings the show down. I don't find him believable as a thug/street guy, let alone as Ghostface himself. He would be more convincing playing Drake or Craig David in a biopic.
Yooooo
My guess this ends with ghost shot in neck and rza attenoted murder. Idk the true details but obviousky they blending stories due to restrictions
But... atleast we getting a season 2 hopefully because this shit really getting good now. The 1 track shots last episode with the ode to mcs who came up with them was dope.
The early formation of the clan having rza rae meth and odb this episode, as well as an escalation in the violence. Ive seen people say that parts unoriginal or whatever but its a important part of their arc growing up.
Great show for a wu fan for sure. The rns callback lol. Hope we see gravediggaz, sunz of man and shit jext season (fingers crossed).
genuinely enjoying the series so far, pretty sure itl'll be greenlit for another season ^O^
I agree that the Ghost guy is doing too much. I get doing your own version of a character but this personality isn't going to make sense when factoring the rest of ghost's life, like wearing a Sherlock Holmes hat or flipping pancakes on his album cover lol. How is he going to justify any of the skits, dude's slang is off.
I REALLY wish these kids could rap. They make wu sound wack as all fuck lol.
So U-God has nothing to do with this but they crowbarred his son iNTeLL into the last episode. He was the one rapping at the party when Rae and Power showed up.
regardless of everything the show has gotten nice reviews...
Just Ice schooled rza on that "Rakeem" name..lol. And the long take shots in episode 8 was good, Quentin T. style.
I see they got my nigga NOODLES
