ehhhhhh wtf tron? i got a laptop and i use an optical mouse that i plugged through the USB slot...it's not like a laptop can't support a mouse...you MUST know that bro?
good thread though guys....I'll ask some Q's once i get home and remember what version i have of CS....i think it's 2 :lmao:
^ Do you make a new sig every day? lol
I'm coming in extremely late here.
IMO, the very best way to get a silhouet is to use the free hand pen tool.
You'll need to learn to get the hang of it, but it gives the best results.
No choppyness, no jagged edges etc....
Just make a selection around the figure you wanna make a silhouet of, and fill it in with whatever color.
^ lol thanks.
How do I add a bleed to an album cover? How big does it have to be?
Most places only require an 1/8th of an inch bleed. So if you just expand your document size by .125" on all sides you'll be all set. Make sure though you expand your colors and images into the bleed area. The whole purpose of the bleed is so that when the cover gets trimmed you dont see a line of white if the trimming shifts. But at the same time you have to make sure that your text and important stuff stays in the safe zone.
Use this link to download a template to help. Depending on what program and how many panels you're doing, you can pick what one you need.

ok thanks a lot man
I don't really understand that template, the area for the cover is too wide.
maybe this will help better

Whats the perfect formula to make something look like it's reflecting?
I came across this from Winter and got curious:

Ok, if you were to do what I did, open the images and then crop and make the work space alot bigger. Then copy+ past the two layers or ctrl + J the layers and free transform, right-click Flip Vertical. Bring down that layer so its connected to the top image. Highlight the bottom images, hit add layer mask. Click on the gradient tool(make sure it's Black[L] to white[R]) and
then do the action bottom to top.
Sweet thanks.
...and don't forget to turn down the opacity of the reflection.
on ULEAD gif animator is there a way i can move all the frames in one go without having to individualy move all 71 frames of my image one by one?
I NEED HELP
I'm makin a new sig
what's a good artistic way to kind of fade out the edge of an image?
a part of the right side of my image just ends flat - I don't want that
create a layer mask then use the gradient till you dig it then right click the layer mask box and apply
many thanks!
I finally found a helpful video on youtube about it too
ah I love this new sig! should have it done soon. kills the shit outta the one I have now, but that was the second time I ever fucked with photoshop.
tho this is only the third time lol.
ill. youtube is pretty much where I got my start, can't wait to see what comes out tho G
actually I'm not sure how to do it the way you described, it gets all fucked up n such
im not very technical with this thing yet, but I think I can do what I wanted to do with this edge now....
this is the fucking hottest thing on third earth
I'd give myself props if I could
[edit]
i think i need to make my blood moon larger tho, do that later
ha ha beautiful... ima give props just on your name lol but damn G, that really is a dope sig. 1000000000000000000x better than your other. no offense but it was kinda boring. good job fam, peace
word many thanks!
I know after I finished this one I was embarrassed for myself haha, like what a n00b
but yeah this is just the 3rd completed photoshop project I've ever done
keep it up G, you obviously have a grasp for it.
nice work...
I'm not sure if this has been covered in this thread, but I'd like to hear some techniques on getting the cleanest possible edges when either cutting objects out of images or creating shapes.
Is it true the pen tool can accomplish this if used a certain way?
yes it can be done with a pen tool...
i always use the polygonal lasso tool... zoom in the image real close and trace it with the lasso. once you have the trace completed... right click > select inverse > press the delete key... if you take your time and zoom in far... you can get a nice cut.
i use the magic wand tool. its quicker if the image has a more contrasting background color then i just refine the edge. i like the lasso tool if i'm looking for a very defined cut.
if i'm doing something more complex then i duplicate a color layer then fuck with levels and the eraser with some other shit that takes forever but worth it if you can get it right
I was using it last night and it looked noticeably better when i cut stuff out, but yes it's definitely tricky to use.
Also I'm left handed but use my right hand with my mouse. I've always have, but performing intricate cuts or trying to write stuff can be hard for me.
I'm going to guess the only way to master the pen is using a Wacom graphics tablet and a stylus.
can anyone easily explain how to create custom textures in photoshop 7? i see Sean use them a lot.....i wanna use it on some text. youtube videos don't seem to be helpin me.
probably - i posted this ages ago lol and haven't used PS much since
i just remember seeing Sean texture his text however he does it
is there anyway to make my own fonts? I don't mean get any custom ones from any sites or nothing, just wanted to know if I could have a font with my own handwriting.
is there a quick/ easy way to insert a moving image on top of a gif?
without having to paste image onto each separate frame?
