Cormier will fight pat cummins
That's pretty shitty for Cormier. He doesn't have anything to gain fighting Pat Cummins and a lot to lose. Cormier isn't ranked at Light-Heavyweight (#4 at Heavyweight) but Evan's was at #3. I guess he can look at is as warm-up since he's not use to making a cut to fight.
Very impressive win for Machida over Mousasi, he looked like he was in shape for it & was giving Mousasi a run for his $$$.
CORMIER !! he made a big statement today !
that uppercut almost took pats head off !
Anyone else think Rondas' bout was stopped a bit too early!?
she landed a nice liver shot tho ! Somewhere Bas Rutten is smiling
Rory did good in his bout but i dont feel that hes up there with Condit and Hendricks
My babys mom Rounda Rousy made quick work of Sara McMann this past Saturday. Now there are talks of Cyborg? I don't think she'll make weight.
I'm hoping her next opponent is Holly Holm. On paper and as far as striking/stand-up goes she looks pretty impressive boxing, kickboxing and grappling-wise. Exhibit 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
Unfortunately, her ground game hasn't been seen in any match and her clinch game might be open to mauy thai knees that Ronda was getting a lot of power into last match. Ronda's Judo throws would also pose a problem perhaps.
Vitor Belfort drops out of title fight after Nevada bans testosterone therapy
- Replaced by Lyoto Machida; Lyoto Machida vs Chris Weidman at UFC 173
What a shit deal.
Anyone catch the Fight Night? Just checked out some of the highlights.
- Crazy spinning elbow from Dong
- Does the UFC keep these guys around to fill cards?
- Wish I could find the Nam Phan vs Vaughan Lee fight video. Looks like Nam got beatdown by the stats
Lucky break for Machida, if he comes in ready like he did against Mousasi, he will be champ again.
Imma have to disagree with you Chiba, not taking anything away from Johnny but Lawler imo seems to be hungrier to be champ, he has been waiting a long time for this opportunity & I believe he will defeat Hendricks. Condit better prey he dosent get knocked out by Woodley.
I think Hendricks might take it by decision but I would prefer to see Lawler win
lmao @ DMX at the end of the vid!
I actually think Hendricks is hungrier for the belt.
Yes, hopefully Condit can take him out quick with a submission and not have to stand toe-to-toe. Condit is pretty crazy though and probably thinks he can get the better of the exchange. Really hope he can get pass him, get a title shot again, and gain the belt. Woodley is ranked 10th but other then beating Koscheck, he hasn't proven much. He lost to Jake Shields, no one should lose to him.
I don't think this is going 5 rounds. I really hope Lawler can connect with a good punch and then pummel him for a TKO.
Pulling for Ruthless Robbie. Hopefully he gets a KO. Condit is my boy, but I like Woodley too. Just wanting a good fight there.
How do none of these guys make weight.
Its a tough one to call, I still think hendricks has enough in the tool box
to defeat Lawler. If Hendricks fights smart and uses his wrestling
he can grind out a win. If he stands up and bangs then its 50/50.
Condit is a greg jackson fighter so I can see him and using a defensive and counter strategy thus winning by points
all interesting fights tho
can go either way
lol @ nick diaz in the crowd for making a meal of hendricks not making weight
Hendricks & Lawler fought like warriors this past Saturday night. I had Johnny winning rounds 1 & 2, Robbie definitely had 3 & 4 and if would've kept the momentum going he could've pulled it out but Johnny stood there & dug deep & held his ground & pushed Robbie back. A very exciting & impressive fight. Woodley taking out Condit was a little disappointing the way it ended but he'll be back.
Thats Hendricks' Karma
Robbed then Gifted ! Id like to see them fight again.
Condit losing like that sucks! but its what it is!
the divison is gonna be interesting because all these guys are looking good!
Heard Diaz was calling out Hendricks for a title bout
Probably the most stacked division, I think Rory MacDonald will get the next title shot.
I think I predicted every fight wrong last UFC.
Ovince Saint Preux's choke submission was a surprise. I'd like to see him fight again. He's flown under my radar.
This is the second time Lombard has looked off after the first round. Not sure if he's gassed or what but someone needs to teach him ground and pound. All Shields had a hope for was a lapse in judgement on the ground which came at the end of the 3rd. Must be scary going into a ring with a guy built like Lombard. Bravo to Shields, I doubt he wanted this fight.
Not sure why so many fighters become one-dimensional later in their career. Has Diego forgotten how to utilize all his blackbelt skills in Gaidojutsu and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? Wasn't impressed by Myles Jury.
It's too bad about Condit. It's probably going to take him almost 2-years to get back to form judging by a torn ACL speculation. I actually had him winning even from being on his back a lot. I really don't think that proved much for Woodley and I didn't care for his responses after the fight or post-fight press conference.
Hendricks barely won that fight on points. Sure he barely took Round 1 and 2 but he got thumped in 3 and 4. It's too bad Lawler was one-dimensional with only utilizing his boxing strength. He defended the take downs great but threw barely any kicks and never tried for any takedowns. Exciting fight nonetheless but he hit a wall with 2 minutes in Round 5 which was a shame. Couldn't dig deep like Hendricks did.
Rory MacDonald is boring. Not sure who I would want to see fight Hendricks next. It's hard to believe that Woodley is now ranked #4 from #11 and might be the best bet. Lombard lacked effort or cardio in Round 2 and 3.
Did anyone watch the the rematch between Henderson, and Rua?
Anybody think Teixeira has a chance of defeating Jones at 172?
http://24.media.tumblr.com/13a746d54...mj4go1_400.gif
I think the only one that can give jones a run for the $$ is Gus
Teixera is dangerous as well but i think Jones is preparing properly to avoid another Gus
incident.
Anybody cath Nelson knock out Nogueira...Brutal seeing a legend go down like that
anybody be following the Wandy Vs Sonnen TUF
Wandy seems to be ducking Sonnen
I was late in trying to get tickets for this card that's just in B-more so Im kicking myself in the ass right now. I believe Jones is a better caliber figter than Teixeira, but the way the belts have been changing hands lately which has changed all weight divisions, Tex definitely has a chance. 20 straights wins is pretty impressive. But Im really looking forward to the Davis vs Johnson fight. Im a big Johnson fan & would like to see him make a comeback. I also wanna see Duke fight, think she's sexy.
Bellator 120 is on today, and I really don't care too much about Bellator, but if I have nothing to do, and somehow the Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Mike Alvarado is already over, or does not take place I might watch it. The main event is Quinton Jackson and Muhammed Lawal. Oh also Tito Ortiz is fighting....
UFC 173 this Saturday,
The Three Big fights on the card are:
UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Bară vs. T.J. Dillashaw.
Daniel Cormier vs. Dan Henderson.
Robbie Lawler vs. Jake Ellenberger.
My pics are Bară, Cormier and Ellenberger.
wow Cormier tho !!
hes been really dominant
id like to see cormier vs teixera or Gus
I wanna see Cormier vs. Jones to be honest. He's more than ready for that fight.
Cormier, Lawler, & even Dillashaw looked very impressive in their fights, Looking forward in seeing them all fight again.
Cormier vs Jones is the money fight, especially since the dislike each other.
I lost respect for Wanderlei Silva.
UFC 178 will be Jones vs Gustrafsson 2
Chael Sonnen failed a drug test, so his fight with Vitor Belfort is off, because Sonnen is now suspended.
So both the coaches of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3, Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva, hate each other, and lots of people were looking forward to them settling it in the octagon, but one is afraid to take a drug test, and the other one fails a drug test. Both of them should be ashamed.
Chael Sonnen has retired.
UFC 174 is tonight, with the co-main event being Demetrious Johnson, the defending Flyweight Champion with a record of 19-2-1 vs Ali Bagautinov with a record of 13-2 for the UFC Flyweight Championship, and Rory MacDonald (16-2) vs Tyron Woodley (13-2)
I will try to post a link.
how was it?
