The fights before the main event.
Demetrious Johnson with another impressive win. He is the third best fighter Pound for Pound in the world in MMA, and since they made a Flyweight Division he has owned it.
I have to say this was one of the worst UFC's I have ever seen. Not one fight was interesting.
This is 1 card that I didn't bother to see. As you can see I didn't miss anything at all.
I hope UFC 175 is good, the card looks promising with the co-main event being Chris Weidman vs Lyoto Machida and Ronda Rousey vs Alexis Davis.
Haven't saw the last one yet but don't think I'll bother now! 175 should be a good card but it's a shame about Sonnen & Wanderlei, was lookin forward to that one
UFC Fight Night 43 is on live from New Zealand right now, and later today is Fight Night 44.
UFC 175 is this Saturday.
Would love to see wins for Lyoto and Alexis this weekend. I think Lyoto has a good chance but not so sure about Alexis
Alexis has a chance, but a very very small chance.
I expect UFC 175 to more than make up for the lack-luster show that was UFC 174.
Yeah should be good, didn't realize Penn vs Edgar is this Sunday too!
Uriah Hall just fought a fight in which he broke his toe in the first round, and the bone was sticking out, and he was still doing kicks with that foot, and bouncing around like it didn't even hurt: Uriah Hall is the definition of what tough is all about.
The fight between Ronda Rousey, and Alexis Davis was a pretty long fight....
UFC 175 was light years better than UFC 174 was!!!!
Weidman got the win, but perhaps Machida earned a rematch.
Weidman got the win, but perhaps Machida earned a rematch.
Both Ronda Rousey and Chris Weidman looked impressive tonight defending their respective championship belts at UFC 175, and Lyoto Machida showed way he is one of the best in the Middleweight Division.
Later today, or tomorrow depending on where you live, Frankie Edgar battles B.J. Penn on Fox Sports 1
How was the Weidman fight hectic, i missed this PPV.
It was good, the first three rounds he easily won, but in the fourth Machida caught him with some ice hits, and it looked like going into the fifth he had a chance for the ko, but Weidman came back to win a very close round.
Damn, Weidman is the real deal, who's next for him, maybe Belfort?
I think he will be next in line to get a title shot, but if not him than perhaps it will be Luke Rockhold, or Ronaldo Souza if he beats Gegard Mousasi at UFC 176.
Speaking of UFC 176 I think it was unfair for them to ask Ronda Rousey if she wanted to main event the card right after her win today. I mean the event is less than a month away, and to put someone on the spot like that was pretty classless by the people at UFC.
Now am not saying she should not do it, but it was just unfair. What I think it is the UFC is stuck between a rock, and a hard place, because although Ronaldo Souza vs Gegard Mousasi will probably be a decent fight, and a good fight to be the co-main event, it's not a fight that is going to make people want to order the ppv, and Dana White knows this, so he has to try to find a fighter with a big name, and he has very little time to do it.
It also might not be fair to who ever Ronda does fight if she takes the fight, because to fight someone like Ronda on less than a month notice, and less than a month to train is not the best idea.
B.J Penn has retired after his loss to Frankie Edgar last night.
B.J. should have retired before, I wanted him to win but I thought he would get beat, 175 was a good card. Main event was brilliant, edge of the seat for the last 2 rounds lol if only Machida had fought like that in the first 3 it might have been a different result. After watching it I think Belfort definitely has a very good chance to beat Weidman. Ronda fight was crazy, I felt bad for Alexis }:T
Edgar just has Penn's number, and am happy he retired; hopefully he stays retired. I wish Machida would have done something the first three rounds, because I think he could have won. As far as the Ronda fight goes, at first I thought they stopped it way too early, but when Davis tried to fight the ref I knew she was out of it.
UFC 176 has been cancelled.
Silva - Diaz Superfight Set for Super Bowl Weekend
http://www.ufc.com/news/Silva-Diaz-S...r-Bowl-WeekendQuote:
Speculation about possible opponents for newly re-signed UFC star Nick Diaz ended Tuesday afternoon when UFC President Dana White announced on ESPN SportsCenter that the Stockton standout will face future Hall of Famer Anderson Silva on January 31 in Las Vegas.
Silva, sidelined since a leg injury ended his UFC 168 fight against middleweight champion Chris Weidman, has been greenlighted by doctors to fight again, and he has looked sharp in training. Now he has even more to train for as he takes on Diaz in what is expected to be a striking lovers' dream matchup on the UFC's annual Super Bowl weekend event.
Considered by most to be the greatest mixed martial artist of all-time, the 39-year-old Silva shattered record after record during his nearly seven-year reign atop the 185-pound weight class, defeating the likes of Vitor Belfort, Rich Franklin, Chael Sonnen, and Dan Henderson, not to mention Hall of Famers Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar at 205 pounds. In July of 2013, the Brazilian icon lost his title to Weidman and was stopped due to a broken leg in their rematch five months later, but more determined than ever, Silva expects a triumphant return this January against Diaz.
One of the most polarizing figures in MMA, Nick Diaz has the unique ability to captivate fans both in and out of the Octagon, and at 30, the best may be yet to come for the former Strikeforce welterweight champion. Owner of wins over Robbie Lawler, Frank Shamrock, KJ Noons, and BJ Penn, Diaz - like Silva - earned his black belt in jiu-jitsu, but on January 31, he expects to throw hands with Silva in a five-round 185-pound matchup fans have wanted to see for years.
Daaaaamn, thats will be a interesting fight.
A.Silva Vs Diaz should be one interesting fight
the taunting levels will be at an all time high and the crowd will be making a meal out of it!
hopefully Diaz doesn't do anything stupid to get cut from the card.
hope the UFC covers their bases and have a good back-up just in case
Jones vs Cormier should be another good fight!
I think Jones just might squeak past him. I wouldn't be surprised if Cormier wins
Weidman vs Belfort is scheduled for December with Belfort saying hes off the TRT
Im looking forward to Lawler vs Hendricks 2
Surely Lawler learn't his mistakes from the first fight and should beat Hendricks
any thoughts?
cheers gents:beer:
Jones vs Cormier will be a great fight and Cormier has a legit chance to win although Jones is still the favourite. Weidman vs Belfort is another great match up, Weidman should win but Belfort is scary. Lawler Vs Hendricks is going to be another war, could be another Diego Sanchez vs Gilbert Melendez fight.
http://thebiglead.com/2014/08/04/vid...ss-conference/
'During a news conference open to the public Monday in the lobby of the MGM Grand, Jones and Cormier fought. They didn't get paid, and they're fortunate they didn't lose the opportunity for the big paycheck that will come on Sept. 27 when they meet for Jones' light heavyweight title on the other end of the casino in the Grand Garden Arena."
alot of ppl think its staged
might be...nobody got hurt so thats a good thing
What a dick.

The woman MMA fighter War Machine allegedly beat to a pulp says she was actually pummeled within an inch of her life.
Porn star Christy Mack says War Machine broke up with her in May but for some reason showed up at her house at 2 AM Friday. She says he walked in, didn't say a word but unleashed a beating on her friend.
War Machine threw the friend out of the house and then she says he allegedly made her strip and shower in front of him. Then she says the beating began ... resulting in 18 broken bones around her eyes, a broken nose, missing teeth, a fractured rib and ruptured liver.
Mack says War Machine also "sawed much of my hair off with [a] dull knife."
She says he threatened to rape her but was unable to perform.
