Recently re-brought Return To The 36 Chambers
copped the new big l compilation today (couldn't believe that shit was in best buy), along with kanye's new shit and cudi's new shit
Bought Solitary Confinement by Rhyme Asylum when I was in the queue to see Meth and Red in London the other week, very decent album.
yes it's simply amazing, i'm not sure wether i like "In A Silent Way" or "Bitches Brew" better but 'Silent' is just soooo fucking smooth as Miles and the guys give the music so much space to breathe. perfect music, couldn't be any better in any way if you ask me.
so i received Miles Davis "In A Silent Way" and "A Tribute to Jack Johnson" plus Herbie Hancock's "Headhunters".
I must admit that i gave into it guys - i'm sorry but i bought "My Dark Twisted Fantasy" by Kanye West LOL. i'm not to keen on supporting the guy and making his pockets fatter but the album is just too amazing and i want it in my collection. i picked up the one that has the "Runaway" DVD with it, i thought that would be cool as hell to watch in DVD quality and with the surround system turned up loud while smoking a joint.
i also found these 3 albums for an amazing price, so i'm waiting for them to arrive (hopefully today): D'Angelo's "Brown Sugar", Dexter Gordon's "GO!" and Digable Planets "Reachin'".
yea.. i love the contrast between Bitches Brew and In a Silent Way..
its like a day / night thing..
Kind Of Blue is obviously another favorite of mine..
and you should pick up Miles' - Sketches Of Spain - if you havent already..
as for Herbie Hancock.. Headhunters is a fantastic album..
one of the roots of hip hop.. the funk is everywhere..
Hancock has some great records a couple i would recommend are - Maiden Voyage.. and also - Man-Child..
..
GFK - IronMan FINALLY couldn't get it anywhere
Busta - The Big Bang - heat!
true that, "Kind Of Blue" is one of my favorite jazz albums as well. i've heard about "Sketches of Spain" but i have yet to check out, definitely will though.
"Maiden Voyage" is nice as hell too, that and "Head Hunters" are pretty much the only full albums i've heard by Hancock yet but i'm getting there.
one jazz album i've been listening to quite alot the last few days that i think you might dig based on the albums you recommended is Sun-Ra with the LP "Lanquidity", great shit!
^Sketches of Spain is one of my favourite jazz albums ever, love the vibe of that joint.......... and one track has a familiar sample in it
Kanye West: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Picked this up on the cheap, it's pretty dope and well worth a look.
a tribe called quest - midnight marauders
redman - reggie
rakim - the master
big boi - sir lucious left foot
mf doom - expektoration
and i had a weak moment today when i bought the new kanye album just because i was so amazed by the first track on the cd...
ahahaha i love how everyone who picked up kanye's album has a bit of a guilty conscience about it haha.. shit is dope though.
lol I refuse to listen to it let alone buy it. To me he just dickrides whatever and whoever is hot. If I dropped a hot single tomorrow and had a buzz going he would probably be on the horn to get me on his next album. In the hip hop community..... THEY CALLED THE VAPORS!!!
I picked up The Left - Gas Mask & Group Home - Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal'
With who?
I actually bought this album over a decade ago but just pulled it out from collecting dust, forgot how dope it is...
