Chelsea had flair, creativity, passion and style that some teams would trade their goalkeeper to get.
Zola, Flo, Hasselbaink, Gudjohnson, Wise, Di Matteo, Poyet, Deschamps, Desailly... Stamford Bridge was never short of colourful characters stretching back to the days of Peter Osgood and Ron Harris

Well to me they were nothing special back then...
Granted they had some exceptional talent but were always lacking
In the department in which they now thrive...
Teams like I'm about to mention would be above them in the skeme of things now.
Think about it if The Russian never came along >
Would they be better than :

Tottenham...No
Aston Villa...No
Everton...No
Blackburn...No

And if you don't agree then you can surely see what I'm saying ???
Arsenal, Man U & Liverpool have always kept a high standard

Dunno if everyone saw this already, but:

The English Premier League is to get one more UEFA Cup slot via Fifa Fair Play. Given that the top four teams in the fair play table are all in Europe anyway (Tottenham, Man U, Arsenal & Liverpool), Man City currently stand to get the spot.

So last season they were nearly dropped to The Championship...
And now they could get into Europe !!!!!
And Sven could go...That's messed up ???

Will help their attemps to get big players, that they can at least offer them Europe B football next season.

I dunno why, but Spurs seem to top the fair play table all the time.

Without Abromovich, it would be Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool as the Top Three as opposed to Top Four like we have now... I have enough common sense to concede that much.

But those teams you've listed? They'd never have got past Chelsea. Apart from Everton, although they were the real "mediocre" team before their recent revival.

They would be around those sides definatly.
It is hard to tell but I honestly think taht they would be on par with those teams.
You did get where I was comming from though.
They wouldn't be where they are now if things stayed the same.
While the teams I put up have worked their way up.
That's why I can't really respect Chelsea...
