I give him some slack because I do believe he was injured and the evidence seems to bear it out. Even Sonnen said he believed Silva was injured at the press conference after the fight.

I do agree that his skills might be diminishing but I don't think its that significant. The opening 3 rounds of the Maia fight he totally dicked him and threw all sorts of shit. I have no idea what happened in the last 2.

As for the Sonnen fight, if anything he threw too many kicks and knees for fighting a wrestler, but also connected on some. At the very least of what I remember, he threw a spinning back kick that connected, a sweet leg kick that connected, a jumping body kick, and another flying knee that Chael caught. He was definitely mixing his shit up in this fight, only he barely had the opportunity to do so because of the takedowns.

What was surprising is that Sonnen actually caught him a couple of times which is unheard of. If anything that's the greatest evidence that Silva is beginning to fall off. Him getting mauled by a great wrestler really isn't that unexpected.

True enough. We have no idea what kind of shape Toney is coming to this fight in. Couture's boxing and stand up are fucking bunk and his chin is shot, if he trades for even 5 seconds, Tony is going knock to his ass out.

On the other hand, Couture could come out in the fight,faked an overhand right, shoot on Toney, take him down and that its from there. If Couture closes the distance this fight is over.
