We've got really high hopes for Bale. He struggled with injury last year but seems to be fit and back on form now. Hopefully he'll have a great season.
I'd imagine that if we keep Berbatov then he'll play behind Darren Bent and Dos Santos and Bale will alternate on the left wing as they're both still teenagers and probably don't have enough in the tank for a 45 odd game season.
It'll be something like this:
Bent
Berbatov
DS/Bale Modric Jenas Bentley
Gilberto Woodgate King Hutton
Gomes
Jenas could be replaced by O'Hara or possibly Huddlestone. If Berbatov does go and Dos Santos moves in behind Bent then Lennon will come in to fill in for Bale or Dos Santos where necessary. Zakora looks to be our utility man filling in where needed.
thats a nice lineup. especially when you can pull a guy like lennon or huddelstone off the bench.
Tottenham need to keep Berbatov if they want to be successful. They got a team with alot of potential. They gotta keep the main pieces together.
It will be a good fight between City and Spurs for 5th place in the premiership. i think they both still behind Liverpool. will take some time catching up.
I dunno, I can see Arsenal possibly slipping up this season, we'll have to wait and see.
I think Spurs will probably finish fifth.
id like to see Arsenal slip up. will make the North London derby more exciting. i remember the days when both sets of fans hated each other, and walking through Islington on match day was a day filled with joy.
nowadays its all too peaceful.
We still hate each other in a football sense, I think the average English football fan just grew up a bit.
"Tottenham must pay £19m to sign Zenit St Petersburg striker Andrei Arshavin as well as make him the highest-paid player in the world. (Daily Mail)"
Someone needs to explain to the Russians that we're the Yid Army.
i didnt know coupet went from lyon to athletico madrid.
i like the makeup of that squad.
the ronaldo saga is back. real going to put in a 60 mil euro bid. i think if that happens chelsea will get robinho. than they are clear favorites for the EPL. man u would have to go out and get someone else no doubt about it, my thinking is a massive bid for berbatov or arshavin. but its reaaaal hard to replace 42 goals man.
real, inter, chelsea my early season CL favorites (if that deal goes through).
MILAN my early season eufa cup favorite. :)
van der vart to madrid is offical. thought to be 9 mil euros.
Real will be stupid to sign Ronaldo. they got a great squad, they really dnt need to add Ronaldo to it. he will destroy the balance in the team.
^^ and a few real players have spoken out about the high wage he'll get over everyone else and some of them aren't happy ... van der vaart is an ill addition though
why do real think they need ronaldo? ... ever since they dropped that galactico shit and bought players who fit the balance they've won la liga twice back to back ... they don't need ronaldo ... it's barca who need him ... speaking of barca who have they added? ...
Barca got Daniel Alves, and Hleb. cant remember anyone else. They havent really strengthened their squad. i would put Villareal ahead of Barca at this moment.
Drogba staying with Chelsea he signing a new deal.
well they've certainly lost out so far in the transfer market ... their squad is going backwards ... lost ronnie, dos santos, deco and possibly eto'o ... bring in hleb LOL ... but daniel alves will fix their right wing problem ... i know barca got messi and krkic looks a thing of the future but damn without deco and ronnie where is the creativity going to come from? ... henry better remember how to bring the ball from his own midfield like he did at le arse
Van Der Vaart for 9 mill is a bargain, bad news for Real though Wesley Sneijder gonna be out for 6 months with injury, good thing they got a lot depth in the squad
Watched Liverpool thrash Rangers the other day in a friendly, Keane was looking a bit nervous, a player the Reds need to promote to first team is Kristian Nemeth, but its likely they gonna let him play reserves again, kid got skills
