when they join the big10, pac10, SEC, or big12 and compete against that level of competition week in and week out, year in and year out, and can still put up undefeated seasons, then they'll get the #1 ranking.
They might have to downgrade for the type of schedule teams like Ohio St. had.
tcu is going to a worse conference than the one they were in. they will get a shot at the NC next year because of the conference but they will only be good for a couple more years so they better go undefeated next year. and wisconsin should have had that game but their coach is a fucking retard. i am officially conceding any allegiance i have had to the university of pittsburgh... my alma mater and favorite college team since childhood. i have had season tickets for 22 years and after this head coaching debacle and the teams top 3 offensive players leaving early for the nfl because of it, i can no longer support the university.
i haven't seen a team mishandle it's football program like this since marshall's pilot nosed-dived their airplane into the ground.

Bottom line is it doesnt matter the records so much as it does luck in college football.
To me, Auburn, Alabama, and Ohio State were the most talented teams.
TCU didnt play any regular season game that could rival on the road against Wisconsin.
Until we get a playoff though, none of this can be determined, but what a playoff would do is seperate the best, deepest teams from the lesser teams. I'm not saying there couldnt be upsets, there would be, but I doubt TCU could run the table.
Oregon was good enough to beat Auburn. The game almost went into overtime, if not for some weird play, where they didn't realize the guy wasn't down.
I personally think Ohio State would have beat Auburn and I think in a rematch Alabama would have beaten them. They were up 24-0 in that game.
And you gotta give Auburn a shot because of Cam Newton.
We have this same bullshit discussion every year in college football.
But my opinion is that TCU couldnt hang with the best teams in America. Wisconsin had a good year, but Wisconsin is not as deep and talented as Auburn, Bama or Ohio State. Thats a fact.
Thats not to say that the most talented teams cant be beaten, its just that a true playoff will seperate the pretenders from the contenders.
For instance, if TCU played Wisky in a round one matchup, yea they coulda won, but if they got ALA, AUB or OSU in the next round, i doubt they survive.
