I saw snippets of the interview with the police officer responsible. I must say he seemed very convincing that he did nothing wrong. I was lol when the mother of the dude killed said, her son didn't do anything wrong or would not do anything to hurt anyone (or something to that effect). Yet just moments before dude was shot, he was strong arming a helpless shop attendent so he could steal stuff.

The mother gave to strangest answer when questioned if her son was capable of the words exchanged with the officer before the altercation.
She didn't believe he was capable of saying a few sentences in a 5 minute window of time? Huh?? His aunt had just driven past the scene moments prior so the conversation couldn't unfold that fast? Not sure WTF point she was trying to make.
I think she was attempting to dodge the question, but did it in a non-coherent way.
I guess some peole that are protesting the purchase of items during the sales over the next few days already did some of their 'shopping' anyway.

No I don't think he deserved to get shot to death. I was just trying to explain why both sides might say what they did.
Let me expound and say, that most normal people or people who think they are normal do not want to think they killed somebody unjustifiably. They are gonna find reasons to justify it. People would like to think they are right in the actions they do. So the police is gonna justify himself, and the mother is gonna say her son is innocent and didn't deserve it.
