That's what happens when you do stupid things.
More trouble in NOMORELEBRONVILLE.
punk ass ray small runnin his mouth is making this shit worse. our penalty def. should not be as bad as USC's. im just hopin they don't ban us from a bowl game this year
jim tressel = pete carol
dude has been wallowing in the mud for the past decade. there's no reason for him to leave over some ring sales other than being totally exposed. he knows this is just the tip of the iceberg just like carol did.
well, he got one NC, a bunch of big ten titles, and got over on michigan so i guess it was worth it.
if you aint cheatin', you aint tryin.
I don't know how i feel about this, but The Ohio State University is nothin like USC. I wasn't a huge fan of tressel and his coaching, but he shouldn't have went out like that.
anyways, I don't think we'll stop winning like we always do, and we can't lose with the list of coaches that might take over. IMO Tressel's coaching style is why The Ohio State University was mostly an underachieving program. I think with somebody like Meyer, Peterson, or Dantoni, we would have a better chance at a NC
And let me add, we have never cheated. Cheating and breaking rules are two different things. those players broke the rules
fine,
if you aint "breaking the rules", you aint tryin.
reggie bush was "breaking the rules" when a booster bought him a house. schools "break the rules" all the time to get players to play at their school. bribes, favors, you name it.
there's a lot more going on than players selling stuff on ebay.
we reload.
Fickell will be interim coach for this lost year and than they will more than likely bring in Urban Meyer.
could almost be an upgrade really. Braxton Miller running Meyers offense in another year...
watch out.
and every big time program breaks the rules. The rules are ridiculous anyway, and the NCAA is nothing but a bunch of hypocrites ESPECIALLY after they let Pryor and alll those guys play in the Sugar Bowl.
Its all about MONEY.....they know this, they need to get off their high horse.
he resigned. There is no way they would have fired him.
nuh doubt.
It's good the bum left, get the sheep out of there.
abandon ship!!
Shit is crazy if its true
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/201...&sct=hp_t11_a5
there's a pretty good chance that it is.
tressel pretty much indicted himself by resigning. he knew the NCAA was gonna be coming for his ass and he got the hell outa dodge.
so some kids sold some junk for some discounted ink and you didnt tell anyone. serve your suspension, lose an NC bid, get back to business next year. OSU wasnt gonna fire him. take your lumps and keep it moving.
its gonna get ugly.
I heard Pryor rolled up to a players only meeting in a brand new Nissan with rims. LOL.
They're all pigs. And they act like they deserve something. PLease, these guys are coddled since gradeschool.
But, we are probably gonna get Bob Stoops or Urban Meyer out of this.
This year....well as long ast they beat Michigan I'll be happy. The younger guys will have a lot to prove and make up for the mistakes of these douchebag seniors.
I believe I heard Pryor ws leaving the team?
Good, thats the best thing that could happen for next year. He would be nothing but a major distraction.
Fickell is an OSU guy and will get the young guys he was part of recruiting to play hard, and I think we will see alot of Braxton Miller.
We will probably still win the Big Ten, but I expect Michigan to improve and Nebraska to be a player.
he might as well leave, hes gonna get suspended for more than 5 games. i heard posey and herron were looking at leaving too but idk. we'll get the USC penalties at the least, but well still be a good team. Fickell is a more aggressive coach who won't play real conservative like tressel did.
Russell Wilson need to come to OSU
People with rims on their cars usually aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.
I told ya Pryor was a piece of shit!
We got talented young guys anyway, so it really doesnt matter. This season will be kind of a wash anyway.
It all depends what the NCAA can prove. Right now, all Tressel did was lie to the NCAA. Which is much less severe than what Pete Carroll did at USC.
looks like USCs 04 title has been taken off the books.
i love when they do that. It doesnt matter if its off the books, we watched that game and they beat the shit outta Oklahoma.
which is why i said it was "taken off the books". i guess now you wont be able to look up that teams info on wikipedia? they cant erase what happened on that field.
i saw that shit.
exactly..they did the same BS with the fab five....it happened. LOL.
NCAA is so full of shit
pryor out.
what a dumbass.
--What happened to Mitch Mustain?
Mitch Mustain was once the best high school football player in the country — voted the Gatorade, USA Today and Parade Magazine National Player of the Year in 2005 after leading Springdale High in Arkansas to a 14-0 season and a state championship. The quarterback certainly never expected that five total seasons in two of the NCAA's biggest and most successful programs would lead him to a pro career in Canada instead of the NFL, but that's where things stand now.
Recruited by Arkansas, Mustain played well enough as a true freshman to see the Razorbacks go 8-0 in the games he started. The stats didn't quite match up (69 of 132 for 894 yards, 10 touchdowns, and nine interceptions), but something was happening, and it was pretty impressive. Mustain transferred to USC after that 2006 season after offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn — Mustain's high school coach -- departed for the Tulsa staff, and the road that led him to his role as the offensive coordinator of the national champion Auburn Tigers.
After sitting out his 2007 season under NCAA transfer rules, Mustain threw just 16 total passes as a sophomore backup for the Trojans. And as the Trojans moved from Mark Sanchez(notes) to Matt Barkley, Mustain could never punch through the glass ceiling, and finished his USC career with 52 completions in 89 attempts, three touchdowns and three interceptions. There was some talk about his transferring away from USC to get a chance elsewhere, but in the end, the former high school stud simply flamed out.
Mustain decided to stay at USC because in a pro-style offense, he thought he'd be more attractive to NFL teams. Though he received several calls from other NCAA programs when the USC program was hit with sanctions, Mustain decided to stay put. "You've got to be able to get on the board in front of GMs and coaches come January, February and March and explain what you're doing, explain protections, that you understand where the O-line is going, that you can command an offense," Mustain told ESPN Los Angeles. "I feel like this is the best place to learn that."
But he never got the chance to talk to those GMs and coaches in an official capacity; Mustain didn't get an invite to the scouting combine, which may have had something to do with the fact that he was arrested in early February for suspicion of selling prescription drugs. It turned out that what he sold to an undercover police officer was not considered a controlled substance by the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, and Mustain was placed in a pre-file diversion program. "I'm not a problem child," Mustain told the Sports Xchange at the time. "It sucks. I wish I hadn't done it. But I did. I don't feel my character is an issue. It was an isolated incident."
Mustain did get to work out at USC's pro day in April, but went undrafted, and he's now trying to make an impact on a professional roster — in Canada. The former No. 1 high school prospect is attempting to stick with the Hamilton (Ontario) Tiger-Cats, with whom he recently signed a contract.
It's a precipitous fall, but there is one good side to Mustain's potential CFL adventure. Instead of waiting out the lockout like all the NFL rookies, Mustain will get to play football through his new team's rookie camp, and hopefully into the season. And maybe, after a college career that went very wrong, he can finally get a shot.
Maybe Pryor can be a backup in the Canadian league
best thing that coulda happened Pryor leaving.
good riddance, never liked you.
he wont be a pro. .....definitelly wont be a QB...
maybe a TE but he has zero experience there.
the kids a moron. he has no brain in his head
Bucks probably wont face severe sanction.
And they shouldnt.
The NCAA has found no additional violations aside from Tressel not informing the dept. and NCAA about the knowledge he had of players selling their personal items.
Ohio State has vacated its wins from last year, suspened six players, and Pryor and the legendary Tressel are gone.
Thats punishment enough.
Only Buckeye haters (and there is plenty of them) beg for more severe sanction because...well basically, it helps there cause if Ohio State is weakened in any way.
Either way, losing Pryor for the year does hurt. He was a senior and while he underachieved, he was still one of the best in the country.
Posey, Herron and Adams being out hurts too...senior leadership, but they will be back for the bulk of the Big Ten season.
Braxton Miller is the man now. Lot of pressure for a true freshman but he is a blue chip talent so we'll see.
I think we still win the Big Ten because of our defense. Its one of the main reasons we dominate this league year in and out and go to BCS bowls every year.
Our D is always on point.
Its why Michigan is especially shitty lately.
if LSU was put on probation for that recruiting bullshit, we should be ok. but then again, the NCAA loves the SEC and they can do whatever they want and get away with it. as long as there is no bowl ban ill be ok
well from what the NCAA has said, there probably wont be.
And there shouldnt be.
The SEC gets hit with shit but you dont hear about it as much because none of those programs are as high profile or have as big a following as Ohio State, or a team like Texas.
The Big Ten makes a shit load more money than the SEC. Plus the SEC's academice standards are MUCH lower.
WIll the Seminoles finally be contenders?
They have been hyped lately but they looks like the same old recent FSU. I think with Meyer gone, thats huge.
especially for Ohio State cuz he will be coaching us in a year
^^Seeing as if they win the ACC they get an automatic BCS Bid...that was stupid.
It was all TEBOW, not Meyer, Dooch.
We've got some big body seniors on that O-Line, couple good RB's 1 of which I think could be breakout in Thompson and Thomas, Greg Reid is dangerous on the return game -- want to see him turn in to a shutdown corner though. You know our defense is going to be tops. I think we can finally take claim to that #1 Defense in the country this year. It's up to them what they do, I really think the sky's the limit. We'll see, they usually always find a way to fuck things up.
Urban Meyers system made Tebow as good as he could be. Meyer has Utah going undefeated too.
So don't underestimate him as a coach and recruiter. The guy turned Florida into a powerhouse and the top school in the state.
FSU wont be shit unless they find a QB. They always have a good Defense and talent, but their QBs have been a joke.
Week 3 we'll see what FSU's all about is all I can say.
I think Miami whoops Ohio State easily. Stephen Morris or Harris at QB it won't matter. Ohio State is obviously looking at a sub .500 record this year.
