the ending with scarlet leaving gotham is some of morrison's best writing in this series. i thought the shit at the end with jason ranting about the lazarus pit was a great ending...gordon has to know at this point lol. this is definitely the most entertainingly written batman title right now.

one thing about daniel's writing on plain old batman that i particularly thought was weak was riddler becoming a villian again, i guess. the moment completely doesn't work from either a writing or art standpoint, besides the absurdity of an explosion causing you to regain your memories and change your behavior. it's like some 'days of our lives' shit.

^^^i'm loving legacy right now...carey's the best writer in the x-offices right now, except for maybe peter david (speaking of carey, you should seriously buy the unwritten, it's only on #6 and while it can occasionally be a little pretentious and overly clever, it's one of the most well written books out imo)...and acuna's art is loverly...ha! i just caught the qward, ny...man do i need to get caught up on GL, all the random issues and trades I've read I've loved, but i never buy it lol

supergod #1 was crazy. buy it.

ill try and check those out..and ya GL has been takin me over as of late..shit is great. the emotional spectrum concept is brilliant imo.

ya it's really an awesome concept, my old roomate got into green lantern with the blackest night event off the strength of the emotional spectrum concept...johns is a genius for that shit, which in retrospect the idea is so fucking obvious lol

this cat at my work and at the shop was hypin it too.

i think quietly's art went better with batman and robin cause his style is sloppy and thats kinda the tone for their new roles it would seem.

daredevil is maintaining its quality. still gritty and the art is still great. i was worried but now, not so much.

and blackest night is good shit too. its "dark reigning" slightly, with all the tie ins and what not. but its a nice, gory read. the booster gold was good shit.

and the iron fist & cage issue of thunderbolts was a cool throwback. the art was decent, not great. and cage was rocking the epmd cap. you cant front on that! lol

are any of the tie-ins for blackest night essential or is it mainly just the miniseries and the gl and gl corps issues?

should i buy a set of all the tpbs released of GL so far (rebirth, no fear, revenge of the green lanterns, hal jordan wanted, all the sinestro corps, rage of thered lanterns, secret origin, and agent orange---the last 3 are hardcovers) for 100 bucks? my comic guy threw that offer out to me last week...don't know when i'll ever read them...is agent orange the last arc before blackest night?

lamest "tie ins" ever

^^^probably because they were conceived immediately prior to blackest night coming out...according to what i've read this was never conceived as a 'universe-wide event', that editorial decided to make zombie flying grayson tie ins and shit...i've only read the origin of black hand and the first issue of blackest night...have they explained why the 'dead body of batman' hasn't been revived? which leads me to ask...how did black hand unearth batman's body when batman and robin #6 shows the body in some chamber...in the bunker i'm assuming? gotta love continuity...what the fuck do they pay editors for? (like aquaman being alive in final crisis #7 even though he's in blackest night lol)

Adam Kubert's art in The List: Spider-Man is phenomenal. He draws a great spidey and highly detailed cityscapes and his page compositions and 'camera angles' are nice as fuck. I wish he was more prolific, I've been a fan since his days on The Hulk.

the powerman & iron fist issue of thunderbolts is this.

[spoilers]

iron fist is captured & wolvie, spidey, bucky-cap & cage are there to save him. once he's free, he proceeds to kill them all except for cage.
then you see hes having tests run on him clockwork orange style by osborn cause hes captured. flashback to how he got captured.
osborn shows up at rands office. he lets him know that he knows hes iron fist and asks him to join the thunderbolts. rand answers by handing the thunderbolts their asses. just when hes about to kick norman in the face, ghost grabs him, dangles him out a window, drops him to headsman on a glider. headsman then smashes rand into a wall knocking him out.
the object is to get luke cage.so at a diner, the thunderbolts attack luke. ant man puts himself inside cage, but it dont work.everyone gets their ass kicked by cage. but then danny shows up, surprising cage. then he kicks him in the face and chi punches him, knocking him out.
cage, now trapped in thunderbolt mountain, escapes his shackles and starts handing out ass whoopins on the way to freedom.everyone except the brainwashed iron fist gets handled. then luke and danny exchange words and blows. ending with a massive chi punch to lukes face, rendering his face a bloody, disgusting mess.
everyone thinking luke is dead cause he looks it, ends up swallowing their tounges when he gets up and starts kicking ass again. danny had freed himself from the mind control, & used a dead rat to explode on cages face, making his face look like a bloody mess.
fist & cage escape. norman gets pissed. and at pm & if's "we just kicked ass and didnt get killed" dinner, cage shits out ant man.
ant man walks out of the diner and down the street, dripping with luke cage feces.

yeah, like i said, the art was not spectacular. but not god awful either.

and the thunderbolts roster as of right now is scourge (nuke), ghost, headsman, paladin, mr. x & ant man.

who are headsman and mr.x? wasn't the blonde black widow in the group? that team is seriously lacking in sex appeal lol...how would you compare the more recent issues with the ellis run or the issues diggle did with roberto de la torre? i think the last issue i got was when they osborn shot a missile at air force one or something lol

i thought this weeks asm was good as well...the art in the back-up alternated between sublime (mainly thanks to the coloring) and incoherent as fuck...but i like what they've done with electro

the blonde black widow turned out to be the real black widow..eloels.

im not really sure who headsman is. i think hes an old avengers villain.
and mr.x is a wolverine bad guy whos a master killer cause he knows what your going to do next. i really dont know him too well, i think he appeared in wolverine comics in the late 90's- early 2k.
and its not a bad read, but nowhere near the ellis run. (witch got me into thunderbolts in the first place.)

spider woman was a drag...and wtf is going on in wolverine? eloels. nice art tho.

wolverine weapon x is dope. this issue was he was in a room with 2 people and there was weapons on the table and someone in another room wanted him to use it on them but then he started to regain his memory back.

spider-woman you can watch all the episodes on hulu i think. the last issue is where all the crap that goes down. i cant believe i bought it for my iphone smh.

^^^having read the pulse issue, and marvel knights: spider-man 1-12, spider-man: the final chapter, etc...how did osborn spin the fact that he's been exposed as the goblin on several occasions?

read the luke cage:noir series as a whole...great art/coloring and the plot and some of the dialogue are good...but overall the plot structure is extremely sloppy.
