Thanks guys...although i haven't heard all the samples, am happy to know where the samples came from
Al Green - "That's the Way It Is" is just an old rumored sample that came up before the Willie Mitchell samples were found. It does sound a bit like Liquids Swords in a couple parts, but it's obviously not the sample after hearing the Willie Mitchell songs. The song is on the "Full of Fire" album if you still want to check it out.
do you have this sample Willie Mitchell - Mercy Mercy Mercy (Live)?

Ayo Kamikaze check that Bar-Kays song "Yesterday" that's on your instrumental mix @ 0:17. Do those organs sound like they could have been used for Killarmy's "Dancing With Wolves" off The Sting to you? It sure sounds like it to me...
ahh okay. thankz
and here a sample for all ;)
Marva Whitney - It's My Thing (Cappadonna - Splish Splash)
I don't know....It does sound similar, but I think they sound played in Dancing with Wolves
I really don't think that's a sample. I know the breaks lists it as a sample too, but I really don't hear it in the song. Anybody hearing it? Drums maybe? That's the only thing even close that I hear.
New Mix!! (in a week too lol)
Deja Wu mix....all of these songs have been sampled by Wu only different versions of course.
Tom Jones - I (Who Have Nothing)
Gwen McRae - Let's Straighten it Out
Margie Joseph - Strung Out
Mad Lads - I Forgot to Be Your Lover
The Emotions - Ain't No Sunshine

this is splish splash sample Lyn Collins - Ain't No Sunshine
Thanks for this mix! I was thinking the same thing about the Bar Kays joint but I was thinking he might have chopped it up and played it. I agree about the Splish Splash shit too. It's definitely not the drums and Splish Splash was made entirely with the Lyn Collins Ain't No Sunshine sample as far as I know. One Love.
PEACE
is this a wu sample? all i can think is dilated people when i hear this song
from what wu song is this sample from?
@Kamikaze
thx for the answer ;) i check it
and thx for the new mix
None of these were sampled for Wu-Tang songs. What he means is they are different versions of songs that were sampled for Wu-Tang songs. For example, the Tom Jones version of "I Who Have Nothing" wasn't sampled by Wu, but the Terry Knight version of "I Who Have Nothing" was sampled by Gza for Publicity. Maybe this will help.
Gwen McRae-Let's Straighten It Out (OV Wright version sampled for Wu-Tang Clan f/Killah Priest-America)
Margie Joseph-Strung Out (Mavis Staples version sampled for Ghostface-Big Girl)
The Mad Lads-I Forgot To Be Your Lover (William Bell version sampled for Killah Priest-One Step)
The Emotions-Ain't No Sunshine (Lyn Collins version sampled for many, many Wu songs)
Tom Jones-I Who Have Nothing (Terry Knight version sampled for Gza-Publicity)
Hope that helps. One Love.
PEACE
^ oh! ok thanks
i notice they were dilated sample but i thought wu has sample then too cuz this is a wu thread anyway they are good songs
Gwen McRae-Let's Straighten It Out this song was eating my mind cuz sounds a lot like A.I.D.S. then i say i couldn't be cuz the real sample was like you say OV version thanks for clearing that up

haha...that's a very good question. I've had that very version labeled as Al Green, The Lighthouse Family, Otis Redding....and now Bob Marley. My money's on the Lighthouse Family....or none of the above lol.
Just got 421. Here are a couple samples from the liner notes that haven't been posted. I'm pretty sure I have the samples for "Everything" and "Somebody Done F*cked Up" too, but I have to find them. The keys on "Is it Me" sound very familiar...so does Ya Meen.
