I don't think this is true. I just think that Rae, Ghost and possibly Deck feel that Wu is known for a particular style and sound and they want to maintain that.
To be honest Rza has lost his touch, with the beats with the rhymes any dj.
I think that the wu as a group is a think of the past. Every member has his own idea of how the wu should sound. Members especially Rae and Ghost certainly wanted a street oriented album. But Iron flag was an album that sound like that... I think that Rza knows the wu sound that gave them fame is over. Hip Hop fans don't want this sound no more. Robert Diggs is trying to find a new original sound but he failed so many times. He can't produce sounds like in the golden era, this Rza is dead. Bronze and dudes like Cilvaringz are trying to emulate Rza early sound, but they sells poorly. I think that Rza can produce raw sounds if he really wants. He is trying to enter a new chamber but many members don't trust him. He can't find a sound that will satisfy all the members. This group needs a leader. Wu members say they want a Wu album why they don't let other wu producers like Bronze, 4th or True Master produce their albums ? I think that Rae and Ghost just want to be the leaders of this group. These dudes are egoist.
And whys GZA have a problem? I thought he's the genius so has a lot of say in the Wu too? Nobody has mentioned this.
Listen ok when these lot were younger they spat that street shit splashed with knowledge and now they older most of their lyrics are just generic street boasting rhymes.. don't put your head in the sand, these are old guys trying to stay relevant in the new HipHop age talking the same ol shit, they supposed to be pioneers. Ok their wordplay and flow still A class but they have it too easy now. I think RZA is on the correct page for vision he trying to lay down something monumental not just the same ol shit. I believe they should make a half n half album light and dark.. Uplift, teach, have fun, speak truth, drop jewels. That's what Wu has always been. Peace
that's the most of a shit i've seen mef give about rapping in a long time. i dont know how to word that sentence.Quote:
I’m tellin’ you, I’m hard-bodied, dawg. Trust me, just listen to some of these features, you’ll see exactly where I’m at with it and how I’m gonna come, ’cause I’m back to cadence. My flows are gonna be switchin’ all over the place—dudes will not be able to keep up.
yeah, they're dropping shit, its cool to listen to, but do those albums really stand out like that? do you go back and listen to them? they're dropping music to stay relevent, to keep up their money.
i dont know about the egoist part, but i think they should let rza find his new sound. cuz if its just them rapping over 90s-esque beats its gonna seem faulty, played out, but if rza gets his new lane they might be able to cook something up. i mean i'm keepng my expectations real low for this, but if it were to be release, and then if it were to be good, two big ifs, i think it would be thru rza operating in a new lane.
just drop it and let the fans decide.
Rza experiments, it's a good and bad thing. If the wu members don't trust him this project will fail like 8 diagrams. I don't give a fuck what Rae or Ghost think. Rza created the wu tang clan, he had a vision and they trust him. I don't think a motherfucker like Rae has a vision. He is just a dope mc no more, he can't be a leader. These motherfuckers can't understand Rza because they don't know what Rza has done. He produced 7 incredible albums from 1993 to 1997. Rza is a pioneer and an adventurer who looks further. Other members are not as clever as him because he is a genius. He has taken risks since the beginning. He doesn't want to imitate anybody. So I don't expect anything for this future project.
I love how this forum is full of cats who Are experts at what wu should do career wise and can gauge their relevancy lol...it never fails
That's not a good excuse. GZA never has a lot of verses on Wu albums, probably because he takes so long writing a verse. But really how long is it taking for him to release another album? 5 years later and nothing. Probably 4 or 5 guest appearances he already recorded before 05. All these rappers lost their focus and they're in denial. Rap is all about the hunger and they don't have that hunger. Maybe they could drop a dope verse, but the music is not going to be up to par.
GZA has the name Genius and last year he said his album would drop in Fall, even though it was just a month away. Someone with brains knows if their albums drops next month. If there is only a month left, it's probably used for shipping and shit. I don't even think it's a matter of label not wanting to release it, it's GZA who probably hasn't even recorded the album for 50%. It's ignorant when artists say they're releasing things very soon, but in the end it takes 5+ years. He said Pro Tools was a compilation. Wu-Tang is no longer fresh. The producer has a vision and the rest of the group wants to live in the 90s. They're no longer artists.
Fans shouldn't tell Wu what to do, for sure. Because fans have no idea what they want.
But at the same time Wu hasn't fed us since 8 Diagrams so we're going to speculate on what the hold up is.
Honestly I think it's that rap is not the #1 most important thing the Clan's lives right now. When rap was #1 for them, they put out heat. Now it's just not. They have families and other business...it's like a job for them. And it shows.
I surely know what I want and what I don't want. I don't want gayshit like "family reunion". I want a wu album with dope and deep lyrics and ill beats from the wu elements. If Rza lost it he could ask wu fans to send them beats. If they can't release a wu album, fuck them. I think they still respect fans but maybe I am wrong.
