The thing is, reporting crime is greatly discouraged by the police. They make it difficult and tell you they would advise against it. For instance, the criminal could be part of a maffia family and you'd make things worse for yourself because when prosecution follows, the perpetrator will get the victims adress and full name. So even if the dude isn't connected, some friends or family might make things difficult for you.

Or the police don't have enough time for such a small crime. Small being pretty much anything where the victim didn't have to visit a hospital or lose a lot of money.

Or they flat out tell you they're not likely to solve the crime and filling out a report would be a waste of time.

Also, I don't care about the ethnicity of the criminals. It was a response to Rainbows post calling it hysteria, while the chance of getting victimized by a muslim is a lot higher than by a non muslim. But about that, about Morrocans... they're the fastest growing population in my country. And the most criminal. About 15% of the Morrocan population has a criminal record. The numbers are even higher if you limit it to Morrocans between 18 and 40. If you look inside a prison 70% of the guys there are immigrants. So it's a growing problem. The Netherlands does a great job of publishing crime statistics and keeping tracking of what's going on in their country. All indices show that crime has been dropping for well over a decade. So if your jails are 70% Moroccan that's wild (though again you're not backing that with anything other than you being a citizen of a country). that 70% is a large portion of a criminal population that's at a record low. If arrests are low, and crime is low, and immigrant populations are increasing then there's no correlation between crime and Moroccans or immigrants and you're being hysterical like R A I N B O W said. Dutch prisons are emptying fast. The number of prisoners in the Netherlands fell from 20,463 in 2006 to 10,102 in 2016.

This is equal to about 59 prisoners per 100,000 population, according to data from the World Prison Brief. In comparison, the United States, which has the world’s highest incarceration rate, has 666 prisoners per 100,000 population, or a total of more than 2.1 million inmates.

The Netherland’s low incarceration rates are largely thanks to relaxed drug laws, a focus on rehabilitation and an electronic ankle monitor system.

These measures have resulted in the closure of multiple prisons across the country in recent years, including Bijlmerbajes in Amsterdam, which was shut down in 2016.

The site is scheduled to be demolished and converted into housing this year, but in the meantime it has been transformed into a creative hub called Lola Lik, which includes space for start-ups, a language school and a coffee shop.
