starscream kicked ass in the end though that scene was hot when he was fuckin them planes up
Superior ... The storyline was odd with the glasses. Whatever, I enjoyed it. The entire theater clapped at the end. LOL!
I only rate classic when there's absolutely nothing I would change, or a rating of 10/10. Classic is used loosely in this forum.
Starscream makes it evident that their will be a sequel.
And yea - CLASSIC.
my mai complaints was
1:optimus having a flame paint job and a mouth, ridiculous!!!
2:bumblebee as a camaro??? come on
3: rachet as a hummer???? wasnt he a white ambulance in the g1 cartoons??
4: starcream's long gorrilla arms???
only thing saved this movie was the special affects
i understand that general motors would want their carz in the movie but thats not the point im making. these choices were done by the director like for example optimus primes flame paint job and mouth. that has nuthing to do with general motors right???!!! ok then. he also said bumble would be confusing as a bug being that herby the luv bug was a bug. and thats the only reason why he made BumbleBee a camaro instead of a bug.that had nothing to do with general motors. thats just Michael Bay fucking up iconic characters like optimus prime amongst others
that movie was insane,,,,,,nuff said
dope.
I think what you're failing to see is that this is a modern take on the franchise. You couldn't have expected them to stay 100% true to the originals but they still stuck damn close. I actually like Bumblebee better as a Camaro (Cmon, you know in 2009 when those cars drop you gonna want one) and Ratchet was still an ambulance per say, a search and rescue modded H2 is good enough for me. I think they did a very good job and I'm lookin forward to the sequel (You know there's gonna be one.)
If you haven't seen the movie and want to be surprised, don't read on.
I never in my wildest dreams upon hearing last year that transformers would be live action, did I think that this movie would be this excellent. Move over John McClane. The real summer blockbuster has arrived. You wonder how it will work. How will they be able to interact these massive CGI robots with humans and make it look real? After a brief synopsis of the story narrated by Optimus Prime that question is answered. In the opening sequence an American Military base in Qatar is annihilated by decepticon Blackout. The intensity of this opening sequence is off the charts and the movie is well on its way. A few of the military men survive the devastation and Blackout releases Scorponok to chase them down. Following all that action we slow down to learn about our hero sam Witwicky played fantastically by Shia LeBeouf. The next few scenes deal with Sam buying Bumblebee and establishing a relationship with his love interest Mikaela played by the nuclear hot Megan Fox. I mean she's fuckin hot. Seriously. Anyway, after a rendezvous that was concocted by the clever bumblebee, we head back to the desert where the action heats up again with scorponok attacking the retreating soldiers. This is where you learn for the first time (one of the things I was happiest about with this film) that the transformers are not all powerful and can be hurt by conventional weapons. Scorponok gets fuuuuuuuucked up and his tail is amputated as he retreats into the sand. This failure allows the survivors of the base massacre to warn the president aboard air force one of this new threat. Coincidentally decepticon Frenzy is on board hiding as a boom box and he sneaks his way into the computer servers to hack classified information on the Allspark, a powerful object in which the decepticons wish to possess. The transmission is cut short however and when air force one lands frenzy escapes into a waiting barricade disguised as a police car.
Later Sam is awakened by his car and assumes someone is stealing it. He chases it to the junkyard where he sees it transform into bumblebee who shoots the autobot signal into space. The cops arrive and arrest Sam, not believing him at all, thinking that he's probably on drugs. In the morning when Sam returns home, he finds his car has returned and he freaks out trying to run from bumblebee on a girls bike. He instead runs into Barricade who proceeds to get his ass kicked by bumblebee while frenzy is decapitated with a saws-all by sam's new girlfriend who sees sam being chased by his car and joins the action. Frenzy isn't dead however, and his still living head transforms into her cell phone. After an introduction through radio clips (bumblebee is mute) they learn that the transformers are alien robots. As they drive down the street, Mikaela asks "If he's an alien robot, then why would he turn into such a crappy car". Bumblebee slams on his brakes and pushes the kids out. Sam remarks, "See, now you've upset him" as Bumblebee speeds away. Suddenly Bumblebee spins around and gets up on two wheels, and his undercarriage scans a passing car. Bumblebee shifts and changes into a new model Camaro, to Sam and Mikaela's amazement. They hop into Bumblebee and race away.
Next we see meteors falling from the sky and bumblebee and his new friends meet up with the rest of the autobots, jazz, ironhide, ratchet, and of course Optimus Prime. The whole story is revealed and we learn that Sam's grandfather's glasses contain info on the whereabouts of the allspark. Most of the humor in the film revolves around Sam and his family and Bey perfectly sets up the next scene at Sam's house which is an absolute riot. The autobots try to hide from Sam's parents and the result is well slapstick at its best. Sam finds the glasses eventually just as The ultrasecret section 7 shows up to apprehend sam. The autobots intervene and the head agent played by John Turturro is robot "peed on" by bumblebee. Hilarious. Optimus notices that the agent isn't surprised to see him and the agents secretly warn their buddies as the autobots split up. Optimus is trapped and he hides under an underpass but drops Sam and Mikaela who are saved by a diving bumblebee. Bumblebee ends up being captured by the agents and he sam and mikaela are taken to section 7. There they learn of project iceman where Megatron and the allspark are being held. Sector seven is actually encased inside the hoover dam which is the perfect place to hide megatron and the allspark because the mass amounts of concrete can hide their signal. Upon arriving Frenzy transforms and makes contact with the allspark which rejuvenates him. He then signals to the Decepticons around the world. Starscream, Bonecrusher, Devastator (sorry but wasnt devastator the massive robot that was created when the 6 constructacons got together?) Blackout and Barricade respond and head to the dam along with the autobots who have also dicovered the Allspark's location. Frenzy shorts out the device that keeps Megatron frozen while Sam convinces section 7 that bumblebee is on their side and they release him. Bumblebee transforms the massive allspark into a more portable form and they attempt to escape to the city. A newly freed Megatron meets up with Starscream who reports that the Autobots have fled with the Allspark. Megatron remarks, "you have failed me yet again, Starscream". Here we learn that Megatron is aptly voiced by Hugo Weaving of Matrix and V for Vendetta fame.
The following 25 or so minute fight is probably the greatest CGI sequence event ever. Opitimus fights with the massive bonecrusher on the freeway, dispatching him with his flaming sword. In the city, Ratchet and Ironhide go after Devastator and Barricade while Jazz attempts to tackle Megatron and is easily dispatched, being ripped in half. Bumblebee's legs are damaged in the melee and Mikaela grabs a tow truck and picks him up. They drive frantically in reverse toward devastator and bumblebee gets in a great shot crippling the beast. Jets are called in for back up and the biggest highlight of the film for me is the amazing beautifully shot sequence in which starscream systematically destroys the jets transforming in mid air and ripping wings off and shooting mass amounts of bullets. It is incredible. It all leads up to the final battle between Megatron and Optimus where Optimus tells sam that upon failure he will insert the allspark into his chest sacrificing himself to destroy the dangerous object. Sam has other ideas however and ends up inserting the allspark into megatrons chest, killing him and destroying the threat. In the aftermath we learn that jazz has indeed died and cannot be saved. This will come as a shock to loyal fans as jazz was one of the few surviving autobots from the massacre in the first movie. Bumblebee gets his voice and requests to remain with sam. The remaining Decepticon parts are thrown into the Laurental Abyss where the cold temperatures and pressure should keep them entombed for all time. The credits roll and we see Starscream blasting off into space.(In typical Starscream fashion)
This is what the summer movie experience should be all about. Incredibly entertaining. A very strong 3 out of 4 stars. It was action packed and very humorous.
For all those that were disappointed by the transformers not being in their exact original form this movie did a great job of explaining how and why the transformers took their current form. The autobots arrived in large metal balls rather shapeless, then scanned and duplicated vehicles just as bumblebee did in the tunnel. I personally was thrilled that bumblebee was a camaro and not a stupid volkswagon bug.....but I was extremely disappointed that devastator was not the constructacons. Fans should get used to "dying transformers" as new characters must be introduced to keep the flavor. Personally, I hope Starscreams's best friend Jetfire will be the central focus of the next sequel as his story is the most interesting in the transformers saga. I also hope soundwave and unicron(he has to, come on CGI, its gonna be the greatest thing ever) make appearences. Clearly there will be a (several) sequel(s) as this movie will surely surpass $300 million at the box office. It's first day gross for tuesday was 27.5 million, and its sneek preview on monday generated 9 million. I'm going again this weekend. The 11 dollars is well worth it.
Very well written Rock, that's the movie to a tee right there. They did a bang up job and I'd have to agree with the masses that this is the best movie Michael Bay has done to date, better than Bad Boys and Armageddon.
Also, I'd like to send out mad props to my Bot Jazz... Who was voiced by none other than my main man....

Darius McCrary A.K.A. Eddie Winslow - Give it up!!! :)
i think you like alot of people were expecting to see the cartoon
think about it
camaros are 10x cooler than beetles
rescue hummers are cooler than ambulances
you barely see the flat nosed trucks like the old optimus prime on the road anymore
the robots were like people they picked the things that they thought were hottest looking. would you rather be a beetle or a camaro? a ambulance or a hummer? ironhide was a wack ass van in the cartoon.. would u rather be that van or a super duty chevy pick up?
well thats how u feel. i grew up in the g1 era of transformers. and thats was the best time for tranformers before they started fucking the story up. in my opinion that would of been a better movie to keep the vehicles the way they were in g1 obviouslymake the vehicles 2007 models. thats y people loved BumbleBee cuz he was this cute little car which so is a beetle. camaros aint cute their muscle cars. i mean thats defeats the whole purpose of him and being bumble bee.i havent seen the movie yet so imma wait to judge it in its entirely. thats new batman flcik next year is gonna be the shit though. cant wait 4 that.
