I saw the movie last week.. i liked it.. i thought it was something different.. rorschach was a badass motherfucker in that movie.. alot of people where disapointed with the movie.. that i know.. saying it was boring.. the plot was sucky.. it needed more action.. it was a knockoff of batman <-- wtf?
i did expect more action doh. lol i still like the movie but i wanted to see rorschach kick some more ass..

yeah rorschach is the da man in the movie, i liked it allot it was very surreal but long and allot of people whom don't know anything won't like it because they ain't that popular or anything like that. but this movie was very good i bought the graphic novel myself and i think i'll get the companion book by david gibbons called "watching the watchmen"

I saw Watchmen again last night, and I want to see it...again for a third time. After seeing it twice, I saw things that I didn't see the first time. Watchmen is one of those movies you have to see a second time. Watchmen is similar to V for Vendetta.

Great movie. Stayed really true to the original comic. Certain things were altered but it didnt take away from my enjoying the movie. Those who didn't enjoy it probably haven't read the book and are expecting it to be another dark knight which it wasn't. It was better.

I was amazed at how true they were able to stay to the original material. Most of us have painful love affairs with similar material (V for Vendetta, the upcoming Dragon Ball Z, Streetfighter, etc) and even if you discount the original material, Watchmen is an amazing movie (for those that can appreciate it without expectations). I loved it and I cant wait to buy it!

Had no expectations going to see (I believe if you read the comic youll want spot on carbon copies of the novel transfered into film therefore making yall nitpick anything that didnt go along with it or bitch about any changes). Didnt like it @ all, way too damn slow, 3 people left during the movie, afterwards even my other 2 friends were on the same page with me disliking the film. My other boy who went to see it opening day said the same thing about people leaving (1 left after Manhattans junk was shown lol)

I thought the movie was fantastic, I did think the marketing wasn't quite right for this movie, alot of people had preconcieved notions going into this and were left disappointed. I heard some people sitting across from me commenting on how they hated it.

It really isn't for everyone but I think if most people had gone in with an open mind, they may have got a better reaction to the film.

Overall I give it a very high 8/10

I say they should all read the Graphic Novel then watch the motion comics(which I might upload soon) then go see the movie...I have yet to watch it yet(clear version has not been released yet)....the motion comics are really good though.........

i saw it last night and i liked it. I havent read the comics neither but it was pretty awesome. I hope the Blue ray version come out with more tities scenes. I will def buy it.

i think this is one of the movies whose dvd u definately have to buy because they left out alotta stuff from the book in the movie so im thinking they are going to incorporate that into the bonus feature section of the dvd,atleast i hope so..id like to see all the content

There will be a directors cut which will run about 3 hours and 10 minutes and then another that will have Tales of the Black Freighter tie-in which will run at 3 hours and 40 minutes if I'm correct.

Yeah, i was looking forward to it, because generally, even if a film isn't particularly engaging dialogue and story wise, if it's aesthetically pleasing i can enjoy it regardless.

But this to me was just uninteresting universally.

The acting was pretty weak, dialogue was unnecessarily trite (obviously with a comic book adaptation this is inevitable to some extent, i just felt it was over the top).

In terms of the story line, as i haven't read the GN, maybe i don't have many legitimate complaints. However, i feel if you do adapt from another text, the creation should speak for itself. The storyline of the film was completely disjointed and failed to engage me at any stage.

Add to this certain ideological undercurrents which came off as not only corny, but as completely flawed and illogical.

I don't know, just not my thing.

totally disagree.

its like after september 11th here. america was attacked. not just republicans or democrats. you saw everyone waving our flag. its the same thing when the world was attacked, but magnified but a massive amount. you forget about the petty bullshit and realize theres something that really binds everyone on the planet together, the fact that we are humans and its useless to fight over any of that other shit, when that other shit wont matter if they dont unite against the common enemy.

i thought the politcal interweavings were great. the comedian being hired to assasinat jfk. the burning monk. nixon winning the war and being elected 5 times. the joke at the end about "who wants a cowboy in the white house anyway", a clear dig at george bush. plus the others. thats what made the film so much more rich than any and every other super hero film out there.

It's funny for me to say this, but I like this movie more than the Dark Knight. At least everything is in it's place and logical in the end.

Entirely agree.

Probably the main reason why I didn't like the film. In reality, the world would turn back to violence and terror after about 5 years. It doesn't sound as smart as the movie tried to make it be.

one. in the end its a movie.

two. you are talking about our reality, they live in a different place. you cant impose our reality on a fictional world that is massively different. if so the whole premise and plot of every super hero movie, in reality most movies even made, should not be liked because they wouldnt work in our world.
