Yeah, Deadmau5' first album was cool, i'll check out the most recent.
I saw him live a while ago, puts on a good set.
J-DON, i noticed that track by Xuman on the Danger Danger blog also, it's cool. Vocals are a bit too much for me at some points though.
As he said, Russians are coming up.
Phonat is great, i hadn't heard that "Love Hits The Fan" track before, it's nice. Set Me Free was a awesome, haven't listened to it in ages.
It pains me to hear Beyonce's vocals ruin an Alan Brax beat of this quality. It's a damn shame:

Just ordered the last copy of Phonat's album from amazon, should be here in a week or so.
The Fascination Movement make almost identical music to New Order. Which to me is a good thing.

A lot of Yacht Funk stuff seems to be becoming popular, so i'll post some tracks i like that sort of fit into the loose genre:
(I much prefer Placid Mind, but there is no youtube of it)
^this shit right here.
A lot of Hemingway's recent production has been to my liking, particularly the Pelifics remix. The live bass gives his tracks something a lot of other producers making music in a similar style don't have.
DCUP is another guy who's recent shit i like a lot.
I appreciate simple but moving music essentially. I rarely feel overcomplicated music on anywhere near the level of simple, spacey and funky stuff.

CFCF is the shit, everything he does is sugar.
His EP Panesian Nights is heroin, and his remixes are all worth getting.
I'll try and post some stuff tomorrow.

I haven't really posted any Electronica in this thread.
I guess that's because i predominantly listen to more House or Disco inspired tracks.
I still like a lot of other types of Electronic music though, so i'll try and post a few different things.
Nosaj Thing dropped an album called Drift earlier this year which was cool. Hard to describe what genre it is, but it's good nonetheless.

The Britons here might know of FACT magazine, but i'd never heard of it until a few months ago.
Their site is great, they cover pretty much all genres of electronic music, from Dubstep to wild balearic disco stuff.
Here's the 100th FACT mix, done by Lindstrom (only up for a few weeks).
Lindstrom's albums are all great also, check them out if you haven't had the opportunity.
This might be a bit to out there for some, but to me everyone Paul does is gold.

CFCF's album 'Continent' is my record of the year.
Easily.
Read some lacklustre reviews of it, but i don't know what people didn't like about it.
Hands down best thing i've heard in what has been a pretty great year for electronic music to me.
Probably the best album i've heard in the last few years even.
I'm definitely going to get the double vinyl.
Here's probably my favourite track off the album 'Invitation to Love':
what other good electronic albums came out this year in your opinion?

ha, all i'm saying is that i really like it.
For all i know everyone else will hates thay kind of shit, it's just the kind of music i dig. Download the track i put up, it's a good indication of what the album sounds like.
Other electronic albums from this year?
Hm, i've listened to a lot of tracks, i posted a bunch of the more low end stuff that i liked from this year in the "Download What I Download" thread in the vatican.
Most of the electro house i listen just drops as singles on blogs, so not really many great albums in that regard.
Just looking down my itunes 2009 list though, electro albums (and EP's) that standout are:
DatA - Skywriter
Yuksek - Away From the Sea
Knightlife - Knightlife EP II
In Flagranti - Brash & Vulgar
FACTORYFACTORY - Your Heart EP
Binary - LA Light (compilation)
Valerie - Valerie & Friends (compilation)
Skywriter is definitely the best electro house album of this to me, no other full lengths really came close to it.
As far as other miscellaneous sort of electronic stuff:
HEALTH - Get Colour
DJ Hell - Teufelswerk
Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
Zombi - Spirit Animal
Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
Paul White - The Strange Dreams of Paul White
Dam Funk - Twoeachhizown
Ducktails - Landscapes
Zomby - One Foot Ahead of the Other EP
Sally Shapiro - My Guilty Pleasure
Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport
Circlesquare - Song About Dancing and Drugs
Not that all those were amazing (Dam Funk's album kind of was), but they each have strong points.
On top of that a heap of dubstep, which i guess is technically electronic music.
I figure at the end of the year i'll post a bunch of links to my favourite albums, i'll just wait until a bit later as there are some bombs dropping soon.

Dr. Simon Hurt
That's a good list; I can't say I've heard all of it, but I have heard the majority (I still haven't heard the valerie and friends compilation) but I thought Skywriter and Away From The Sea were kind of crappy. Dam Funk, Zombi, In Flagranti, and Knightlife were all exceptional though.
I'm going to search for some of the new names to me, and I'm interested to see what you hook up later.

You thought Skywriter was shitty?
Heavy.
I thought Away From The Sea had it moments, but wasn't great.
Ducktail's album is one to check out if you haven't heard it.

The casual keyboard jam in this video is the realest thing.
It's great when Herbie is asked about his "african blood" and he goes "aurrhhgg yeayuh".
He takes everyone who denigrates electronic music to school and back, on the bus.
Watching him play makes a mockery of today's "artists" who try infinitely hard to be serious in all aspects of music and to be taken seriously.
These guys are just enjoying it.

Here's a remix of Phonat's 'Set Me Free' by Butyreux.
Not a whole lot different from the original, but still enjoyable.
