so it looks like we're gonna have a 4 team playoff coming next season which means instead of the top 2 spots giving you a chance to play for a title its now the top 4 spots.
this still doesnt solve a lot of issues with how a champion is determined but its certainly a step in the right direction.
4 is still too small of a number, and there will be a large controversy over it the first year this is implemented, but it is indeed a step in the right direction. If they can get this to 8 teams within a few years of the start, it'll be golden.
Maybe teams like Boise St. will actually start to get a fair chance at the championship.

a team should not be ranked for the current season based on what they did last year. thats just stupid. they should wait a few weaks before ranking. teams that have a great year in the current year end up having to make up too much ground for a chance at a title because of a preseason ranking based on last year's output.
-no more D2 opponents
the "pitter-padder" of scheduling D2 schools needs to come to an end. all D1 teams must schedule D1 opponents. you'll see a whole lot less undefeated season if that happens but you'll get a whole lot more compelling matchups throughout the season as it will force more D1 inter-coference play.
