...seriously, wtf?... its basically my old PE kit with a badge stuck on from a cereal box.
i like it.
maybe they are trying wear a throw back hoping for 66 to repeat itself.
^or maybe they're just cutting costs because of the economy? they had to be approved of only having one number (on the back) of the kit or something.
hah come on tage. cutting back by saving the cost of putting something else on the front? by the english FA of all associations?
the economies are not THAT bad.
The new kit has been tailored to each England player individually in a highly sophisticated way never before seen.
Quote:
The all-white strip has been billed as the "most sophisticated football kit ever" and promises to mould bespoke tailoring with innovative design to create what Umbro have called "an articulated second-skin armour."
However, with unemployment soaring and many football clubs freezing prices, fans groups yesterday reacted with shock at the new shirt's £50 tag - which represents a 25 per cent price hike.
"It's certainly expensive, and I think a lot of England fans who are already feeling the pinch won't won't rush out to buy the shirt," said England Fans spokesman Mark Perryman.
"In these times it would have been a nice gesture to say that this will be the home shirt for the next four years, rather than just two, because there will also be another away kit coming out before the World Cup."
The Football Association have confirmed that pricing policy is set by Umbro, whose senior designer David Blanch said: "The RRP reflects the level of research, craftsmanship, sports tailoring and style innovation that has gone into the kit design."
Blanch also insisted the design would help England's chances against Slovakia.
"Fabio Capello was an inspiration in the design process, and he understands the psychological lift that this kind of bespoke tailored kit can give the players. It's the difference between putting on a suit and putting on a sweatshirt. It gives them a sense of pride and confidence that is tangible."
England's new home shirt: £50
England away shirt: £39.99
Manchester United home shirt: £39.99
Scotland home shirt: £40
Stoke City home shirt: £35
^wow... nice info. didn't know each shirt was bespoke.
i wasnt actually a big fan of it when i saw it on TV though
that England kit is shit. England should have a kit like Inter's old one with the cross on it. well something like that, it needs to be more colourful.
the new addidas international kits are nice especially Spain's.
Nike are gay cause they keep changing the Turkey kit, we got rid of the Turquoise away kit which i thought was pretty nice.
England wont have a good kit until they get rid of fucking UMBRO LOL!!
wtf are they doing with Umbro anyway, so wack
