Porto were too athleticly strong for us last night. We really couldnt match them physically i felt. Fernando was a BEAST. Dominated MF.
we also lost simple focus for some reason, Evans for the first goal, and O shea and Neville for the 2nd. We miss Rio big time.
We also have no midfielders able to pressure players now. Scholes im afriad is just too old for this level of football now, not technically, but physically. There are simply too many strong players out there for him to be impactful.
We miss Hargreaves in these games. He closes gaps between mid and def.
We actually scored 2 great goals though. The fact we didnt know how to close out 2 minutes of a game at home is just embarrasing. Unforgivable.
