I refuse to watch it due to the awful acting... Shits corny as fuck LOL
The show has had its moments.
When it comes to rapping - I don't remember Cube's son or any other dude who played NWA had any skills. It's difficult to expect that any actor can actually rap like rappers from every person's GOAT list.
This is basically Hallmark-like fairy tale but it has some quality.
The guy who plays RZA kinda dropped the ball though.
I really don't get what people want or expect. The budget is pretty high for this show. There is a ton of creativity and the pacing is fantastic. They are not trying to rush through the story, but they are spending 126 seasons with every tiny detail. The actors are way off for the most part, but we all followed these guys for 25 years now very closely. The fans are going to notice every tiny inconsistency. I let it go a while ago that these cast really won't resemble the clan very much. The ones who I feel are pretty close are def Raekwon, ODB, Divine, Power, and U-God. In fact so far I think U-God is the closest. He's got that I'm down, but I got myself to worry about attitude. He's got his Napoleon complex down. The one's who are WAY off are Deck, I don't feel Deck acted like this in real life whatsoever. And I hate GZA's portrayal the most, so goofy...it's awful. Ghost is hit or miss, he's got that stubborn behavior down, but his body language is way off. But for all the things I don't like, I'm just happy I live in the present day where Ican see my favorite artists of all time get shine in the media like this well into their fifties.
Typical wu stans on the corp complaining about everything.
the only problem on the show is the rza actors voice and actors being being slightly off per how much us wu STANS know them BUT thats only an issue for US STANS. Theres never been a show were there are 15 recreations of obscure people in history and expecting every single one to be dead on. If anything rza did a GREAT job showing these quirks in guys personalities with little scenes without explaining ; ie. Rae wanting to be his own man from day one, gza being in and out and rarely being around everyone, meth being low key as fuck just wan talk about comics, ugod looking at shit sideways all the time and playing devils advocate, rzas work ethic ruining his relationship with his girl
odb. Rae divine power and ghost are KILLING season 2. Yall complaining about the clothing, its called a budget bruh. Its not gonna be easy dressing 15+ dudes in vintage 30 yr old gear. Complaining about the language… this show is brough to us by DISNEY.. its not gon have deep godbody vernacular every episode. Its a tv show, it has to relate to the masses, not just wu fans… complaining they dont sound like the real people on the recreated tracks for the show… REACCCCCH. not even hollywood budgets are able to pull that off with movies about ONE singer… let alone 10…
PETTY. Especially that last reason about their voices on the songs. Opinions like this and this forums history of complaining about every wu album in existance is why this forum is a laughing stock on all other forums when it is brought up.
i knew something was off when every hip hop forum/discussion spot has threads with hundreds of replies deep talking about how good the show is but theres like 3 people talkkng about it on the wu forum itself…
season 2 is a huge step above season 1. Bigger budget. Deeper dive into their history. Yet you complaining about a wu show that has WISE, RNS, references to 4th, Pop the Brown Hornet, easy mo bee, rhyme recka, etc. The last 3 episodes (5,6,7) are wu fans dreams come true; everyone is saying how good it is… but wu corp in its infinite wisdom strikes again ( SORRY TO YALL THAT LOVE IT, the lack of talk on the subject/history of the forum had me seeing this opinion a mile away).
never change wu corp. 20 years of never being happy with wu going STRONG
I think the show not being discussed much on here has more to do with these reasons :
*fewer members posting in WuChamber than say 5 to 7 years ago (people who didn't return after the 2 most recent crashes)
*some members who do still post not having (immediate) access to the show because they don't live in the US
People complaining is of course something different, everybody's gonna have their opinion. I'm not touching on that in this post.
I think some people are expecting dead on impersonations of the real people, which rarely happens in biopics, and mostly is not worth doing over capturing the characters emotionally.
Some of the actors are very good in this, and then some of them are soap opera level. It could have been better, but its a solid watch so far. S3 should be interesting.
Nobody should be complaining about this show. The goal is to get the younger generation into their music, and that's that. This isn't Scorsese quality filmmaking. Keeping the Wu Tang relevant is the important thing here
Yall hatin on the show but in fact it's really cool. It's creative, the acting is not top notch but the characters have grown on me maybe except RZA who is not bad but not good either. ODB, Rae, U-God, Meth, Inspectah are depicted really cool. The actor who plays Ghost also has his moments. Yall really stop hating on everything Wu-related. I wasn't a big fan at the beginning but the show is truly banging
I'll get around to watching the show eventually...my issue right now is time
havent seen season 2, but season 1 was pretty bad imo, the actors do not act, talk and dress like the real Wu-Generals, worst of them is Ghostface Killah, GFK is a super fly dude, the actor interpreting him isnt fly at all, or at least isnt fly in the way GFK is.
I also dont really like that dude Dave East as an actor and also as a rapper, his whole attitude and voice is annoying as fuck.
dont know how RZA is directing the whole thing and didnt made things right, oh I get it know, RZA was a fly ass dude in the 90´s, now he dresses like a motobiker.
The show is peace & SSN 2 is better than 1.
Things like the visualizations of the making of the beat & verses for Protect Ya Neck are dope or Rae & Ghost bonding over the Killer culminating in an action scene are just great fun and inventive TV.
Also newest ep even had a character based on Corp contributor G the Promoter popping up.
I have always wondered since Rza is much more spiritually in tune these days, does he regret having never reached out to Too Poetic? I know Too Poetic's publicist has said that he felt betrayed and hurt that Rza never attempted to contact him after his terminal diagnosis.
this was art bruh plain and simple,we're all going to have different interpretations
The show is great. Can't wait to peep season 2.
It's interesting seeing how some people love it and some people hate it here lol
Love the show. My gf loves the show. My ex loves the show. And they ain't even into Wu-Tang.
Some people just love to hate, especially on here.
Beats me why they come here every day, but hey, it's been going on for decades, going back to the DSC, Kenny RZA page and all that, so not surprised.
Peace.
Most people do love it. In real life i got multiple friends who never even listened to wutang like that saying how good it is. One watches it on discord with a huge group of people every week like its a party. Yet WE dont even have a OFFICIAL THREAD! the same people conplaining a show is too long (like in here, movie>series??!???) are the same ones who woulda said a movie isnt long enough to tell the story. Every real wu fan loves this show because the chances of it happening were slim to none. Only nwa, eminem and 50 got this treatment. Wus story is PERFECT for tv today; and the lil moments are great for the true fans who know the story.
people on here hating it is wucorp 101. Like i said wucorp hating on everything wutang is well known on other forums. I brought up to my boy who used to post here with me and the first thing he said was “what wucorp still hating lmao”. He hasntnposted here in 15 years and even he knows the deal. Cant please these dudes with anything that isnt PERFECT. In wu corp world, 5 mics = great, 4.5 = good , 4 mics = passable. Anything below that is trash. They cant get over the 5 classic albums. If its below that quality they wont even check it.
I can see someone who's literally never heard of wutang or whatever your saying liking this show lol. The issue is if you've ever heard Rza's name, you'll at least know the kid playing him is a joke. Minimum. Yet to see wucorp complain about something that wasn't complaint worthy. Between 7 year album delays, and casting a person that literally can't act to play your frontline group member, I think wutang fans are pretty patient.
I honestly don't 'hate' it, it just think the actors suck. It's crazy that in a wutang show the weakest part of the show are the wutang clan members. And among the wutang clan members Rza, Method Man, Gza and Ghostface can barely hold their depiction of the character together. That's completely ridiculous lol. The guy that plays ghost is playing a generic 2008 thug, which is insane because ghost's personality is more than a big part of the picture. The kid playing Rza should offed in a plot twist s3. That kid is very lame. I don't even blame dave east, I blame the person who thought cast a guy that has never acted before and isn't a good actor should depict what is without question the #1 draw character for the show, especially among casuals.
Plot wise it's not that bad. The writing is ok. And the nostalgia factor is enough to carry it into watchability.
Anybody know how the generals themselves have responded to their portrayals on the show so far?
The writing isn´t so bad I guess. But the acting is horrific third grade school level shit. I used to watch OZ on HBO and The Sopranos those were actually great shows. So now anyone that complains about the show´s low budget acting is hating FOH...
too corny:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIpwyQ29ikA
I just want to know why the the actors don't dress like the characters they are representing, Ghostface or Raekwon would never use the jeans the same way the actors representing them use them
Dressing and style is also something really important in the Wu-Tang Clan Imo.
I could see the appeal for the casual fan or someone just getting into the w. If you grew up in this time frame and lived it I donÂ’t think there is much entertainment value.
I have my own memories of that time and donÂ’t really care to replace them with a Hollywood version that makes for good television. Not to mention Wu was unique at the time and a bunch of actors trying to recapture that almost 30 years later ainÂ’t happening. The trailer and about 20 minutes into the first episode was enough for me.
Nothing wrong with people liking it. However, I found it extremely corny, unauthentic, and poorly casted. Not for me
I think its fun to just enjoy it for what it is. Its not 'Atlanta' level writing or acting but it has a few strong actors and the stories are always interesting.
I'm so in for S3 which surely would be all the drugs and conflict of Forever.

Protect your neck with the odb intro from their first show?
hahah bruh. idk man haha. tf is this? These kids need to do some fucking push-ups bruh lol
How can your job be acting and this is what your doing on your job bruh LOL. The kid playing ghost....there's nothing in his character, body language etc to imply he's playing ghost in the slightest way. Is there a reason they don't wear 90s cloths on this show? lol damn
and what is this dumb ass anyone touch my girl shit? Is this the one with the dry pussy that spat on your dick blud?! lol
lol, it's really weird that the hardest part of this show to watch are 'the wutang members' lol. Everything else is pretty decent.
also, why don't they dress like it's the 90s on this show? really weird
LOL did they dub ghosts verse in!? AHAHahah, nigga had a stunt double do karaoke for him
Season 2 finale was dope
That was a dope finish conisdering the budget and the rest.
Will open the doors for the younger generation of fans.
