HELP!!!!!!!!!
Can anyone advise on the correct set up for MPC2000XL(i dont have the 8 outs), Turntable & Mackie 16 ch track mixer?
I wanna have track 1 for my keyboard sounds, Track 2 for the MPC Drums, Tarck 3 shold be for turntable sampling no?
im a little lost on the connection between Turntable, Mixer & MPC..
rite now i have my Turntable directly into my MPC and MPC to mixer and i dont feel thats totally rite.. shouldn't turntable be on a separate track?
Pls Help!
I put my turntable in the mixer but I dont have an mpc so....
my mixer goes into my sound card on my computer.I plug the turntable into the mixer and then use the extra mixer channel for my SP404.
everything into the mixer
mixer out into speakers or receiver or computer.you pick.
ummmmm thanks...... anyone else??
naw man aint nobody else
yea i see that.......................... smh
lol
i got this new machine and it looks really cool...and i know it's a "hip hop" machine. i read about that on the internet. i know that you push buttons and stuff and sounds come out, but there is all this other stuff, wires and connections and stuff. and i'm such a fucking idiot i can't take a week to learn how to use my new "hip hop" machine, I just wanna start hitting buttons and sound like Pete Rock NOW!!!!!!!!!!
lol in all the time ive been posting here ive only just noticed the lower case H in (ThE AUDIO TIPS AND TRICKS THREAD)
lol u guys must be 12 year olds
sometimes when you're starting out you just gotta shut off your internet and mess with the damn machine
it can get tempting to watch tutorial video after video until you realize it's been several hours and you still have the same skill set
loool @ him either way.
as far hardware. yeah you are right, in theory all you need is midi, sounds, DAW...but different kinds of samplers and gear have different sounds that you simply can't replicate with VSTs. also experienced ears can usually pick up on purely digital beats b/c they lack warmth, even if they knock hard, compared to beats that come out of hardware. but you will get as many opinions as producers you ask on this topic.
yeah this is true about experienced ears.Im not gonna say who but an experienced Producer/beatmaker/DJ put me on to something and what he told me I am not gonna really reveal either but I will put it this way
real mf's know when we are using just fl ,midi controller and daw.no matter how tuff you flex it.they know better.you gotta really freak that shit.Im dead serious.
and as far as sitting here fishing for tips goes.... that shit only go so far Dun,.Its cool an all to pick up some shit from the net but FIRST - read your fuckin manuals. Second EXPERIMENT EXPERIMENT EXPERIMENT!!!!
Im not a pro by any means but I love this shit and was Born like this on the real so I know whats up and whats really good.
LMAO @ Sin "I wanna be able to touch pads right now and sound like PEte Rock NOWWWWW!!!!"
hahahaha
but for real though
sometimes if your not gna say anything... you shouldnt.. lol but alas this is Wu corp.. so i expect dick heads to come outta the wood work like sharks hehe, just thought in the Audio help thread cats would wanna help instead being all tsk tsk tsk n give a lecture about shit eh kids these days rite?
dude its just that you keep on with it like you havent even tried to do things hands on yourself. Its like you are looking for an answer to life when you ask how to hook your gear up the way you are.
some of the stuff you are asking is pretty straight forward and you should just try some trial and error in my opinion.
....but like Levar Burton - "dont take my word for it"
jasper you are ill with the beats an all (and I know how you just recently started) but I trust a real producer over you.somebody that this is their bread and butter.I trust when they tell me they have listened to what the Corp audio booth has to offer and they can tell who is and isnt mixing their shit right.
Im not saying that dude said you cant just use fl and a midi. Im saying about the experienced ear.
dont hold bias here buddy.lets be real.
peace
Technically there's nothing you can't do with the MPC you can't with a PC. I'm coming from the technical perspective here. The sound output all depends on what happens with the mastering and mixing. The only difference is psychoacoustics.
Feel free to trust him over me, but I'd be surprised if I had two beats here one coming straight from the MPC the other out of a PC and you could tell which one is which.
"who is and isnt mixing their shit right."
perhaps I shoulda been more specific from the get go and not have complicated this in terms of using FL and a midi.I fell of course of the point of the experienced ear when it comes to the mixing process.
I dont mean to come of like I know it all or know something that nobody else does.my bad for twisting things up if I did.
I forgot what my point was and what we're talking about, so I'll drop it and just post a picture of something I like to mix.

oh now thats whats up right there.
whats faster than zshare.net?
2 paths you could take.streaming.no streaming.
since you say zshare then Im guessing you want streaming. Hit up Box.net for that.
if you dont care about streaming then use sharabee.com. Sharabee creates links for over 5 different other Upload spots. So say if you upload to sharabee then your file can be dl'd thru
DepositFiles
•RapidShare
•Badongo
•Megaupload
•zSHARE
•
by just upping to sharabee
for album DL's I would use sharabee but for streaming Box.net is nice.
make sure you are upping mp3's for streaming as well cuz a wav will take forever to upload and it also is a pain in the as to stream.
hope this helps^
Thanks that helps out a lot.. I can figured the rest out then.. lataz!!
ummm.. wats MIDI??
try www.usershare.net also, it's downloading and an audio stream in one with a simultaneous file upload feature. I like it because when you download it doesn't re-direct you to 1 or more other pages just to get the damn file, there's a button right there to download once you access the link. I know alot of music blogs that use it.
but for music showcase purposes as an artist, I'd go with SoundCloud or Bandcamp.
Oh yeah!!! good lookin out Brandon!!! bandcamp is the shit I FORGOT! I aint signed up for it yet but got it on bookmark for later.shit is real nice though for showcasing. Better than Box.net.
soundcloud is okay
I'm trying out the user share right now and it's uploading a little slow...
I the sharing faster ??

anybody with an sp know the best way to make sure your drums don't get off track? i tried usin that quantize and it works okay but when theres a part where i hit the drum 2 or 3 times real fast the quantize fucks it all up
you just gotta practice and play it right.
make sure that you beginning and end marks are nice and tight too.
also after you make a pattern and you have lag ,try bumping the bpm up 1 or down 1.
I read confirmation of all the above , in the sp forums.

anybody use a 303 and a 404 together?
For all you producers who wanna make your beats sounds full and have life, get Ozone Izotope VST.shit works wonders after a good mixing.
For those of you who dont have Ozone...try it out.

i already use izotope vinyl a lot....well just got it a couple weeks ago but i cant imagine not having it now lol
i just gotta say gotsssdaaamn!! again
this shit makes a HUGE difference
i used to use the FL Studio Gooderizer VST cuz im a n00b who doesn't know how to tamper with the EQ n all that, but this shit is tons better
even though it eats the shit out of my CPU
