Jesus was Jewish, and to the Jewish people his message at the time made sense. we aren't Jewish people around 30 CE and we probably consider all prophets as part of a mental institution. the only account we can give of Jesus is in the Bible so i'm sorry that's all i'm referencing because that's all we have. Jesus in the Bible was a collected, coherent individual who was able to intelligently discuss his thoughts and metaphorically deliver them. based on this source he did not come off as a "fuckwad" to me. in some of the gospels he made his disciples swear to tell NO ONE that he was the messiah. in the gospels when a demon possessed individual would try to say he was Christ he would deny them speech. in the Gospel of John is where he starts to become much more outspoken. if you read the first few gospels he was just a guy with an intelligent, new message, who according to the end of the book rose from the dead.

most of what i've gathered about salvation did not come completely from Jesus' teaching. i've been talking about Christianity's opinion more than Jesus', which is greatly founded upon St. Paul's letters (instructing certain new churches how to be good Christians).

Jesus' mentioning of the apocalypse was also only offered to his disciples, it was not a part of his primary message.

and tauro, i wouldn't say "fuck jesus" to your face -- not because i'm scared of you paralyzing me but because it completely lacks tact in a face to face encounter. but if we were familiar with each other and the topic came up then i wouldn't hide the fact that i believe jesus's existence has had a net negative effect on humanity on the whole.

yeah i got you, i know where you're coming from now. this whole little discussion i was just treating as some fun debate, my point was that on the outside jesus looks like a freak, but on the inside when you really read into what was done he doesn't come off as a psycho (at least to me) but there's nothing wrong with your opinion, it is your own.

I don't care if you don't believe in christianity, I have friends of other faiths or athiest, thats their business. As long as they show respect for my beliefs I do the same. I take no issue with people having opinions on christianity, but just don't come on no ignorant shit.

Tolerate was the wrong word, although I kind of see what you mean by tolerance being a negative, but tolerance can lead to understanding and that imo is definatley a good thing.

basically they twisted jesus words and added some other shit to the story from other beliefs and made a hodge podge. bad part about it is that people have been killing each other over this shit for hundreds of years. theres no way imo that a sane person can look at the history of christianity and where it comes from and still be sacred of going to hell if you dont accept jesus as your savior. the world is too beautiful to have such a shitty plotline. its dark ages stuff

i think one of the things this thread has been missing has been a good chunk of verses that have been quoted. Jesus comes from the Bible. so we don't quote from the Bible, but just allow our reasoning to define the truth. no human being is strong enough in reasoning to declare truth without having a good amount of information.

hell i didn't use any myself so i'm just as guilty. just a thought though.

Uh, maybe not by "race" (which is a flawed term anyway, as race doesn't biologically exist in humans), but the Bible refers to just about everyone by their ethnic/cultural group.

I know you think it's a real place, but you have to understand our point of view...we don't think it exists, so it's not going to convince us to be religious. I haven't read through all of the comments since the last time I posted. I just wanted to address this since it caught my attention.

I've personally felt like saying, "Fuck Jesus" cause I really don't dig Christianity. I think that it's counter productive. That's my personal opinion. Everyone has to walk from where they are currently standing. I was standing in the faith of Christianity at one point in time in my life.

I just wanted to post my man's audio for comments to his words. I concur w/a lot of it. The problem with it is that it stirs emotions instead of elevates consciousness. In the midst of like minds it's a good bit, but in the midst of unlike minds it's a wirlwind of anger.

If that's how U feel then so be it. That won't stop me from speaking w/U. So many people have doomed me to eternal fire due to my beliefs that it doesn't even bother me anymore. The only thing that bothers me is when their belief affects my ability to provide for my family. I recall the thought that Columbus and all of the other murders killed in cold blood with the same thought that people like you share.
