that is the point. look at most of the native americans, native aboriginals, and africans. they are all dark. because they spend significant amounts of time more than russians or northern europeans in the sun light because their climate allows them to. if you are outside all the time you will naturally be darker. if you are in side because its cold as fuck where you live you dont need to be protected from the sun. and you are also clothed a lot more when you go out into the sun. as opposed to wearing loin clothes and what not because its hot as fuck where you live and there is no need to wear more. ya diiiiig.

1b. you are pretty sure there is roughly the same amount of night and day everywhere? really? days get longer or shorter depending on the place and time of year. thats why in the winter in alaska and other northern areas there is 24 hour darkness. why would someone need protection from the sun if they were living in a place with 24 hour darkness?

2. by warm places i ment africa, parts of americas, australia, southern asia. places that are warm most of the year, and have usually a lot of sun. when it is warm you can be outside. where it is snowing, people would generally try to build houses and work in buildings where they are covered. a warm place allows the luxury of not worrying about that stuff.

But too much exposure to the sun is not healthy for you. I don't care about that because of my swarthy olive skin, but that is the way it is.

I believe that humans evolved from simians. The simians originally had(and still have) lighter skin, but when hair was lost, the skin became darker, as the hot sun in africa caused an evolutionary darkening of the skin, as the melanin would protect from the harmful rays of the sun, not necessarily to prevent radiation, but probably to regulate folate levels

When people migrated to colder climates, the lack of Vitamin D became a problem, and people became lighter.

Nobody is "white" or "black". People fall within a spectrum. I have seen some dark africans, but nobody is "black".

Technically speaking, somewhere along the transition from simian to human, there was a genetic mutation that caused humans' skin to get darker.

Genetic mutations can be used to describe evolution and adaptation. However, I don't think "albinoism" played any sort of major role in that.

Fair enough.

I'm not going to pretend like I "know" this is what happened, and I fully acknowledge that there are holes in the theory.

But I think that it is the most logical theory available as of now.

Again, that is my opinion.

Scientists and Archaeologists tend to think that differences in skin color are the results of adaptation, and I agree. As far as EXACTLY what led to these adaptations, I don't know for certain.

But my girl is an archaeologist, and I'm sure she has helped sway my opinion.

I don't think that science has figured everything out yet, but I respect their opinions to that of the layperson.

Again, if somebody else has a reasonable theory, while I may not agree, I certainly don't have the ability to disprove it, and respect their right to have it.
