yeah mayweather fights good opponents but he never fight the BEST ones and thats where the problem is!!! he didnt fight margarito why? cause he got 2-3 million mores fighting baldomir! he didnt fight cotto and refused a DLH rematch cause he was retiring. he comes back to fight marquez at 144 when we all know marquez is a lightweight fighter, his excuse? it as a tune up.

Manny doesn't need to take the testing mayweather wants him to take, it isnt required by the boxing commission, its mayweather's own made up testing, it is not an olympic fight so manny doesnt need t take olympic style drug tests. Manny agreed to a test after the fight, and he doesnt need to take a test that 40 other of mayweather's opponents didnt take.

Mayweather is ducking Manny, it is pretty obvious to anyone who looks at the facts.

Na, no matter how much people want to take MMA over Boxing. Boxing still puts up better numbers for fights like tonights. Vegas is twice as packed when their are boxing fights compared to UFC fights. MMA went thru its faze, but it's not drawing in any extra fans right now too.

Im far from a Floyd hater. I don't really pick sides, I just want to see the best fight. You are so obviously swinging from his nutsack that its clouding your judgement.

Both men are somewhat at fault.

Mayweather is not a governing body. He does not decide who takes what test.

Manny is well within his rights not to have to take any sort of ridiculous test.

On the other hand, Manny could just take it.

This is a chess match of both men's ego's.


If they don't fight, fuck them both. This is why boxing loses.

Props to Floyd on winning the fight..the 16 month layoff seemed to have hurt Mosley (especially coming in to fight a guy like Mayweather), and at 38 he should fight a couple more times and call it a career. I would still like to see Mosley fight Berto though. As for Mayweather, hopefully the Pacquaio fight still gets made, if not, then maybe Paul Williams at 147. I still think Williams should beat Cintron next week, Cintron is good but when the going gets tough he normally folds.

I applaud Floyd for wanting boxers to take a test that actually can detect designer drugs, which the commissions' test cannot. This was proven by the BALCO owner, who said their test aren't sufficient in this regard.

If you read the articles about Mosley's juicing, it explains how the commissions drug testing did not pick up on the drugs. He was only discovered through an independent investigation of BALCO, not through testing.

Considering Pac-man's non-bulking up but hitting harder, it begs the question: Is he juicing?

Before this board does what it has since the beginning, get stupid, Pacquiao is my favorite fighter, then Mayweather.

So I'm far from a hater, I'm thinking about this logically. From Mayweather stand point, I would have him take the test as well.

If you do your research on designer drugs, they have roids that dissipate within a few hours, no traces at all, no....traces...at....all.

Pac should dead this, take the test, if Mayweather backs out then he's a bitch. Plain and simple.

But, Pacquiao doesn't have to fight Mayweather and doesn't have to bend to his will.

The hate for FLoyd is bigger than Floyd himself, and its not because of FLoyds ego and cockiness. Boxing has always had fighters like that.


THe hate is coming from the fact that the best boxers do not fight eachother anymore. YOu got a bunch of different belts and all this politics and no one fights.

And when you self proclaim yourself as the best, but you are not fighting the other best fighter, than people are going to not give you props.

Its that simple.

Ali never ducked ANYONE. Look at the great battles LaMotta and Sugar Ray Robinson had. Leonard/Hearns....Gatti/War.

Now that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has dispatched Shane Mosley, talk immediately turned to the potential showdown with Manny Pacquiao, who has apparently softened his stance on the drug testing procedures that derailed their negotiations in January.

Pacquiao and Mayweather, universally regarded as the top two fighters in boxing, tried to make the mega fight in December and January.


The camps had agreed on all terms except for the way to handle drug testing for what many believe would be the biggest money fight in boxing history. The all-time pay-per-view record of 2.45 million was set in Mayweather's victory against Oscar De La Hoya in 2007.

When Pacquiao and Mayweather reached an impasse, Pacquiao went on to easily defeat Joshua Clottey on March 13 and Mayweather took a lopsided unanimous decision against Mosley in their welterweight super fight on Saturday night.
Mayweather, who accused Pacquiao of using performance enhancing drugs despite having no evidence, had insisted on strict blood and urine testing, which was employed during the lead up and immediate aftermath of his fight with Mosley.
Pacquiao, who has a defamation lawsuit pending against Mayweather and his team over the accusations, agreed to unlimited urine testing -- but with limits on how many blood tests he would take and how close to the fight he would agree to be tested.
Now, less than 48 hours after Mayweather's victory, Pacquiao seems to be in a compromising mood in order to make a fight for which official negotiations have not yet begun.

"I am willing to help the sport for the future of the sport. I do not want to see anyone cheat or cheat this sport. For that reason I am willing to consider taking blood [tests] as close as 14 days prior to the fight, as long as my opponent does the same, and it is not a lot of blood, just enough to test," Pacquiao is quoted as saying on his official website.

Mayweather has no issue undergoing the same kind of testing as his opponent.
During the previous negotiation, Pacquiao had insisted on a cut off of blood testing 30 days before the fight and eventually moved to 24 days when it came to light that he had taken a blood test during that time frame before his second-round knockout of Ricky Hatton in May 2009.

Pacquiao had agreed all along to take a blood test immediately after the fight.
"I do not want anyone having an unfair advantage where someone may get hurt," said Pacquiao, who is in the final days of his congressional campaign in the Philippines. "I am willing to do my part to help this sport out."

Pacquiao had said previously he did not want to have blood drawn too close to the fight because he feels like it weakens him.

"Mayweather is the furthest thing on our mind," Michael Koncz, Pacquiao's adviser, said in a statement to Pacquiao's website. "Our focus has been and continues to be Manny's desire to become congressman."

Following the election, Pacquiao and his family are expected to go on vacation and the fighter will discuss his next bout upon his return. "As Manny has stated many times, we are willing to fight anyone, anytime, anywhere in accordance with the athletic commission's rules and regulations in which ever state we fight in. We will not be bullied into or entertain any additional rules or regulations to be imposed by our opponent."

Top Rank's Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter is headed to the Philippines to support Pacquiao in the final days of his campaign. He told ESPN.com on Monday that during the trip he will not talk to Pacquiao about Mayweather, drug testing or any boxing business.

"As far as I am concerned, I am not even going to raise anything," Arum said. "We're not even going to talk about future plans until after election and that's the truth.
"I have no thoughts about the other stuff but I have an open mind to everything. Obviously, he's my fighter and I will do what he asks me to do, but there's a time for everything. And the time is not now."

Mayweather said after the fight Saturday night that he would fight Pacquiao under the same kind of Olympic-style testing used for the fight with Mosley.
"If he wants to fight it's not that hard to find me," Mayweather said. "We tried to fight before and it didn't work, and we moved on. Mosley did what I asked him to do and if every athlete in the sport would do that, we know we would have a clean sport. Everyone should take the test. I am willing to take the tests. If Manny takes the test we can make the fight happen. If he doesn't we don't have a fight."

I hear Pacquaio's people mention Margarito as a possible opponen. As for Mayweather, he can lure Paul Williams at 147 (assuming he beats Cintron this week). But my money is on Pacman-Money this fall, Pacman is starting to ease up on the timing of the testings, and said he wants to do it for boxing. We'll see, I think both fighters realize there's too much money involved NOT to make it happen, and after both of their last performances the hype will be even bigger than last year.

i used to train with kermit. i know his style because i trained with the same people.i even sparred him when he had his first 3-4 pro fights.he wont beat floyd. unless he gets a 1 hitt KO which aint gonna happen especially after the fmosley fight. i would rather see kermit fight mosley. that would be a brawl
