'Castle Rock' (Hulu) is not being renewed. So the show with characters, locations and topics from Stephen King's books will be over after its two seasons
tbh I only ever heard of the show JUST NOW but it sounds like something I would watch. Hulu is not available here
'Crawl'. Michael Rapaport in a good movie? It must be election week.
EDIT : turns out that wasn't Rapaport lol. Good movie.
B-dolo McGruder was making a revamp of The Boondocks but John Witherspoon died so I don't know if that's still going ahead.
The Two Popes w/ Anthony Hopkins
much more interesting than the premise would lead you to believe
The Highway Men w/ Costner & Harrelson, on Netflix. recommended
on Robbie's earlier recommendation I just watched the pilot of 'Ozark'. I can't remember the time seeing a pilot that was this good, apart from the shows I'd rank as top 3.
good call Rob. thanks. gonna dip into some of the rest of the first season now
Tales from the cryptkeeper
Wikipedia, states this is a "animated horror childrens series". I would bet it is the only one in the category. It aired in 90s.
Ozark is fantastic. I think TSA called it first.
I'm watching the Kubrick films again. Last night was Barry Lyndon.
Barry Lydon, very underrated film. What's next on Kubrick watch list?
Narcos.
I have not seen The Killing. I have actually not seen any of his earlier work. I have seen everything starting with Spartacus and there after. You watch it and let me know if it worth watching, probably is, but most of older movies no matter how good they may be I have a hard time watching. I think it has someone do with the pacing of films during that time.
^ It's definitely a 50s film stylistically, but if you watch a lot of older films you can tell that Kubrick is working with different ideas than his peers of that era. It still has that cynical, cold view of humanity. As a heist movie it's much less substantial than the films that followed. It's good though, I can imagine that certain elements inspired Tarantino and the Coens. I can't guess if you'd like it.
Also saw The Invisible Man starring Elizabeth Moss. Very entertaining.
Its free on youtube. Going to give a watch.
'Color Out Of Space', the movie based on what is probably H.P. Lovecraft's best story, is out now. Nick Cage is in it. I read a four star review today, supposedly it is VERY good and Cage has some meme worthy moments in it
unfortunately it is shown on platforms I'm not a member of like iTunes, AppleTV, Google Movies. I'll get to see it later
if you won't get to see the movie soon, you can read the short story here : https://www.hplovecraft.com/writings...iction/cs.aspx
That is directed by Richard Stanley. He was the original director of the 1996 version of the Island of Dr. Moreau. Their is a documentary about that entire production called, Lost Souls: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau. If you can find it, it is definitely worth watching. The Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer stories are wild.
I'm definitely interested. Sounds like a good watch for Sunday. thanks
watched all three seasons within the span of a week. the writing and acting is top notch. Garner was definitely a stand out. before, I hadn't realized just how good of an actor Jason Bateman really is.
The casting in its entirety for Ozark was spot on. Jason Bateman was ideal to play Marty. We need one more season, hopefully soon.
Narcos Mexico
I will watch Gemini Man tonight. It looks interesting.
Ironman post some more porn?
I meant some porn video covers (Something CJ would have rented from his local Blockbuster back in the day lol) not some gross old man pervert porn.
MST3k turkey day marathon, what you know about that.
Gemini Man was alright. Decent film overall. The fight scenes were crap CGI for some reason and Will's younger face was really awful in some scenes.
It's been a weak year for films. Can anyone suggest a good drama?
Gonna finish watching The Queen's Gambit later. Entertaining Netflix series starring Anya Taylor Joy as a chessmaster.
I hear it's a real hit, like number one for Netflix in over 60 countries. they had a big spread in the newspaper down here where they interviewed the high ups in the chess competition, like the highest ranking woman down here, and the chess league president and such and they said (for Belgium) chess boards had been flying out of the shops and that the game is being played at an entry competition level online much more now - all because of the show. I absolutely SUCK at chess.
^^Euro story posted for the homie zooruka's enjoyment too :list:
^ I can imagine. I think it's one of the most frustrating games to lose at, because it's a pretty good measure of intelligence.
I play online sometimes and generally lose, but it's strangely addictive.
