Apart from the QB, NFL has to be one of the easiest sports to learn how to play and master. In terms of learning curve. Not talking about tactics, which are admittedly highly complex, but actually playing the sport, is rather primitive. Half of the team just have to stand there and be fat and push against another fat gut, for the whole game. The others just have to run, and catch a ball, and avoid other people who are running and trying to catch a ball.
In terms of ball skill levels, its low. In terms of physical astuteness and body control though, its high. Theres not much in sport like the sight of a WR or RB in full flow dogging anything coming his way with instant reactions combined with improvisation and physical agility mixed with strength. But this is something youre born with mostly. Like I said, apart from QBs, you cant really practise this sport to extreme levels of mastery and touch in the same way you can with Soccer, Hockey or Basketball.
Im saying this because I love watching NFL, but I dont understand when people like vandelay and Tooch compare sports, like this one is better than that. Its just retarded. I like socccer and NFL for completely seperate reasons.
