emphatically agree on the x-men stuff, the age of apocalypse graphic novels were packaged stupidly imo, the first volume is completely inessential to the overall story

im gonna say Weapon X and also Wolverine..claremonts mini...those are beautiful books.
^^^ya that;s want i meant when i said wolverine by frank miller, i always forget he didn't write that
you can actually get both weapon x and the wolverine miniseries in the 'best of wolverine' hardcover or the wolverine omnibus
was the amazing spider-man annual a waste of money? i haven't read it yet, i just realized i bought it looking through my comics lol
i'm still trying to wrap my head around the twist at the end of bruce wayne #2...and i feel like people who didn't read 'final crisis' are probably more lost than i am lol, but i feel like it will all come together in an unpredictable fashion
havent read shit yet but i bought it all..not that spidey annual tho, and my bad i didnt see u said wolverine, otherwise ida co signed. he was on his grizzly, art wise.
^^^it's not your fault, for some reason it's ingrained in my head that frank miller wrote it when he didn't lol
i need to re-read secret warriors 11-15 before i read the newest one...who knows when that'll happen lol
did you get secret avengers? my shop was out of them before i came in...on a side note, the 'heroic age' banner is probably the ugliest logo or design element i have seen adorn the cover of a comic book in a loooooong time. it makes the covers look like decorations for a 5 year olds birthday party.
FUCK i forgot secret warriors..i got secret avengers tho
it looks like more of a birthday party invitation. i'll probably go to the shop tomorrow. theres a con this weekend with stan lee and i think a flock of seagulls is going to perform later that day LOL
there also giving out a jrsr variant of avengers 1 but 20 bucks to get in is not worth it.
damn, im confused now too..eloels, wtf happened in return of bruce?? shit was fuckin ridiculously mysterious.
^^i enjoyed it, i love the excitement of not knowing what's going to happen.
morrison's writing will always get your synapses firing...no one could've seen the vanishing point revelation coming lol
and the witch summoned bruce? this plays into my theory that bruce himself is barbatos and hurt's going to end up being the one to bring him back
its bad all it needs is rob liefeld to draw feet, random heads, body parts, captain america with a huge bust holding the largest gun ever made that takes up half of the screen and to top it off have jeph loeb write a story about it and joe q praising it
ya that banner is fuckin wack..although im not a huge fan of them banners anyway.
^^^hahahaha @ kza
i actually like 'ultimate x' though, i'm not going to lie...but it might be art adams' artwork is so awesome it makes loeb's writing look good lol
the banners are just embrassingly amateurish...i don't mean to harp on it, but they look so...childish? is this the disney influence lol
wouldnt surprised if such information was released.
^^^alias!
yes!
i'll cosign everything else in the thread, but yes...buy that!
also grant morrison's new x-men run
also, the immortal iron fist series
how could i forget immortal iron fist.
thats a must cop, especially if your a fan of the character. really well done.
Ahh I feel so out of the loop!! I have this new dealer who gives me 33% off the cover price and delivers the comics to my house the only drawback is he only delivers every second sunday!! I can't wait till this Sunday!!! I'm trying to read any spoilers!!
^^^spoilers for which title?
my girlfriend pointed out how 'embarassingly little' cyclop's package is on the adi granov cover of 'the x-men' #1 that's coming out... i had never noticed and now it has ruined the image for me lol
she called it a 'baby penis' hahahaha
http://www.comicbookresources.com/as...1274905192.jpg
did she, panda? did she? eloels.
yes, she did lol
i couldn't stop laughing for a minute, i was looking at the gischler interview on cbr and enlarged the image and she walked up and was like "hahaha...why does that guy have a baby penis?"
anyway...the more i think about the bruce wayne/barbatos thing, the more it makes sense...the tribe changed it's name to bat people because of him and they thought him as well as supes/gl and booster gold were gods so...
true..makes perfect sense...in related and unrelated news..Neal Adams got that batman odessey mini coming out and Alan Davis is doing AvPrime...two old school legends back in the game..thoughts?
i wish alan davis drew everything lol...he draws awesome superhero comics and has since before either of us were alive. seriously, why isn't he doing a regular series for marvel...he's another person who should be drawing Avengers instead of jrjr
Batman Odyssey i will cop when the inevitable trade or hardcover comes out because the art looks boss as hell to me. Anybody that has seen any of his art knows he's got the goods, the story on the other hand...
ya i feel the same way about both things u said, did u read Tbolts? thoughts?
^^didn't read it, i haven't read thunderbolts since i think the fourth or fifth issue of diggle's run...was this with luke cage?
ya
speaking of batman.. in arkham asylum 2 mark hamil said its going to be the last time he voices joker
any trailers or any shit like that for arkham 2?
i loved the first one also
gametrailers or youtube probably has them.
amazing spider-man this week was dope. im enjoying the shed story so far.
davis on any book is a benefit. his stuff on excalibur was classic. this avengers mini hes doing looks really entertaining. honestly, i wouldnt mind seeing him on ANY marvel team book.
and thunderbolts was a good read. the "team recruitment" issue. interesting line up. and im a fan of the sketchy art style of it.
as far as secret avengers.finally, a marvel black ops squad. run by rogers at that. issue 1 was the typical "team recruitment" issue also. but this one really has the potential for great stories to be told. and valkyrie is back.
also read atlas #1. somethin about this team appeals to me. and i really enjoy the artist on it, too. a new age in marvel has begun. lol
thunderbolts was pretty good, although the team recruitment issue is getting fairly cliche by now lol...loved the inclusion of man thing and cage in a leadership role, although i thought crossbones was like a neo-nazi white supremacist lol
i loved the art style and the coloring especially
ya the art was bugged out..its what made me decide to buy it at the store...btw..Mark Stron is playing Sinestro apparently..lmao.
http://www.spinoffonline.com/2010/05...lantern-movie/
tss..Alan Davis and Michael Allred took the week. ridiculous art.
i didn't buy shit this week except scalped vol 6 and the 70s star wars omnibus lol
did i,zombie pick up at all? i didn't even see it at the store...
avengers prime was a good looking book and seemed cool, but leafing through it i can already tell it's one of those 'two issues of story streched' things...i might buy the trade because alan davis is that dude.
what happened to 'batman:odyssey'?
idk..did tht come out? i only got brightest, prime and zombie..and ya zombie picked up a bit..but honestly even if the story gets really shitty..the art got me hooked. some of allreds absolute best work.
^^^i might buy the trade, but the story didn't do anything for me
and odyssey didn't drop...and now it's not even listed on dc's site for the rest of the month which is weird
how is brightest day? i just bought #0 which imo was actually really good, but i just forgot about it i guess lol
comes out july..
http://www.comicbookresources.com/as...rv5319_cov.jpg
and i havent read BD3 yet but the series has been boring as hell to me really..i feel like the momentum is dead. we'll see where it goes.
