Karma definitely, Margarito is going into surgery today to repair a broken eye socket...he's also been hospitalized since the fight. I don't see Mayweather stepping up anytime soon.

I think he's on for Dec. 11.
I don't feel bad for Margarito. After seeing this fight I'm more convinced that he cheated before the Mosley fight as well. He was basically fighting as a Super Middleweight vs. a Welterweight & couldn't do the damage he did before. I know that Pacman has a better defense than Cotto/Cintron but he did land flush shots against Pacman while also wearing 8 oz. Cleto Reyes gloves. Hopefully he fights with Cotto next & takes another beating.
hah what the fuck is that arab just duffing out a crowd for
I don't know but he was dropping them left and right
Hopkins: Manny Pacquiao beatable
ESPN.com news services
Would an African-American boxer stand a better chance against Manny Pacquiao than his most recent competition?
“ Floyd Mayweather would beat Manny Pacquiao because the styles that African-American fighters -- and I mean, black fighters from the streets or the inner cities -- would be successful.Bernard Hopkins thinks so. And while boxing fans wait -- and wait -- for Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs) and Floyd Mayweather Jr. to finally agree to terms for a fight, Hopkins is asserting that an African-American fighter's style would give Pacquiao more of a challenge than Antonio Margarito was able to muster against Pacquiao on Saturday night, according to a story on Fanhouse.com.
” --Bernard Hopkins
And Hopkins -- who said he's voicing what other black fighters and fight fans are thinking but reluctant to say -- is wondering why Pacquaio hasn't fought Mayweather "or any other top-notch black fighter," according to the report.
"Floyd Mayweather would beat Manny Pacquiao because the styles that African-American fighters -- and I mean, black fighters from the streets or the inner cities -- would be successful," said Hopkins, according to Fanhouse.com. "I think Floyd Mayweather would pot-shot Pacquiao and bust him up in between the four-to-five punches that Pacquiao throws and then set him up later on down the line."
Pacquaio fought and defeated Joshua Clottey of Ghana earlier this year, but Hopkins discounted that win, saying "Clottey is 'black,' but not a 'black boxer' from the states with a slick style."
“ The selection of opponents for Manny has nothing to do with race, creed or color. It's all about business. And they can cry all that they want. The Pacquiao and Mayweather camps have twice tried and failed to set up a fight between the two fighters, despite predictions it would become the most lucrative fight ever. The first set of talks broke down in part over disagreements about Olympic-style drug testing.
” -- Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz
Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz strongly denied that Pacquaio is ducking anybody of any color or background, according to the report.
"The selection of opponents for Manny has nothing to do with race, creed or color," Koncz said, according to the report. "It's all about business. And they can cry all that they want. It's all about economics, now, with Manny's career.
"We have the luxury of doing that because Manny has proven to the world that he's got nothing left to prove. If there are any boxing people out there who doubt him, then, to hell with them," Koncz said, according to the report.
Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquaio, said he has heard that argument before, according to the report. He also denied Pacquaio is ducking anyone.
"I have heard that, yes. A lot of people don't articulate it. But a lot of people, in effect, hint at it. But you're absolutely correct, and there is no argument there," Arum said, according to the report. "The notion that he would not fight an African-American fighter is ridiculous."
what a stupid thing to say ha ha ha
“ Floyd Mayweather would beat Manny Pacquiao because the styles that African-American fighters -- and I mean, black fighters from the streets or the inner cities -- would be successful.
” --Bernard Hopkins
^ Hopkins is one of my favorite fighters of all time, but that's some ignorant shit right there.
lol at Hopkins thats some real dumb shit to say.
after Manny abusing Margarito, there is zero chance of a Mayweather-Pacman fight. i just dont see Floyd doing it.
the Haye fight was one of the biggest jokes in boxing history. in 3 rounds Harrison only threw 1 punch. worse thing was that it was hyped as a propa heavyweight title fight. and even worse than that it was pay per view and some ppl actually bought it thinking something special would happen.
Haye's a good fighter, quick, strong and smart. but fighting Harrison then calling out the Klitschko's destroys any credibility he had.
aside from looking at hopkins remarks from a racial politically correct stance, its kinda a stupid analogy.
Mickey Ward and Gatti fought like a couple of street fighters. Floyd fights like a BOXER in the sweet science sense.
and so does Manny, which is why it would be a great fight.
But Floyd is scared.
what a fucking knockout!
i thought paul williams was dead.
his career might be after that
What a KO...the sad part for Martinez is that he has no big fights lined up. Pacman & Mayweather will probably never fight him. Unless Martinez goes to 168. As for Williams, he needs to use his reach more effectively. Those same long arms are not as effective when he's fighting like a smaller man. I think he's still a major threat to anyone so as long as he gets a toolbox to go along with his tools.
I smell Mayweather vs Martinez brewing...
paul williams can go to 154 and dominate tho since that division is kinda weak. i hope martinez gets quality fights after that
I hope that Martinez gets big fights too & some good $$$. But I doubt it, he's going to have to make sacrifices. Go up in weight to 168 (Lucien Bute, or winner of the 168 tournament) or down to 154 or even lower at a catchweight lower than 154 (which I doubt he can do now). But Martinez reminds me of Winky Wright in that he was avoided by many because of high risk (probable loss) & low reward (he's not making Pacman $$).
Roger Mayweather might speak but fuck me if I can understand that motherfucker.
He's a scared pussy who beats up chicks.
I wonder if both of these guys will be free this time next year?
Yo who saw that Amir Kahn vs Marcos Maidana fight on BAD last night? I thought Kahn's face was about to melt off in the 10th, Maidana was tagging him with some concrete block shots but he stood tall.
^^ I did...excellent fight. Khan looked like Pacman in the beginning but then the fight started to change in the middle rounds. Khan should of kept attacking Maidana's body. I respect Khan for being tough, he did take some nasty shots & is proving that he's getting better with Freddie Roach. Maidana reminds me of Ricardo Mayorga...good puncher/brawler but no defense.
I don't know why but they called the Bernard Hopkins v Jean Pascal a DRAW!!!
I still wanna rewatch this fight, cause even tho Hopkins got dropped twice early, one of those Hopkins was clearly hit behind the head and shouldn't have counted.
and Bernard Hopkins still dominated the fight overall. People are thinking rigged that being the fight was in Canada, but I don't (again I gotta see the fight again and come back to this)
chances of a rematch a quite slim, cause Pascal has got a contracutal agreement to fight Chad Dawson again, so Hopkins got to wait until then.
I don't think we'll watch Bernard Hopkins fight ever again, but I don't think he'll keep this as his final fight ever, especially the way it ended.
If Hopkins would have won, why were they billing it as him being the oldest champ of all time? Cause Holyfield won a belt this year, and he's older than Hopkins. Maybe Holyfield's championship isn't ranked as high?
I'm guessing it's because Holyfield probably won something called the IBO or the WBF...some title that's not recognized by many. Everyone's a champ nowadays.
As for Hopkins, I thought he controlled the majority of the second half but started a little slow (as he usually does) in the first half. The first KO was suspect but the second was legit IMO. I thought Hopkins won by a point or two but a draw wasn't out of line for me. Nice crowd that came out in Canada. If this fight were in the U.S. it draws 3K people, LOL.
B-Hop won the fight by ATLEAST 2 points. That's even if you give those 2 knockdown rounds a 10-8 score.
"I come to Canada and face a 28-year-old guy and I get a draw, at 45 years old?" Hopkins said in amazement. "You saw a young guy running from an old grandpa."
Haha that pretty much sums up the fight. Hopkins robbed again. Seems like fights outside the u.s. is always questionable - bad refs, poor judges
...and what's up with Showtime not showing the Malignaggi fight? Remind me to cancel that shit.
GBP probably didn't want their new investment on tv in case he got fucking blugeoned again would be my guess.
Pacquiao vs. Mosley - May 7th - PPV
Who really wants to see this on PPV?????
I'd buy that for a dollar.
Did anyone see The Fighter yet?
I thought it was pretty good. And I remember watching Micky Ward take shots and not throw a punch until like the 10th and drop that guy with one liver shot. It was the undercard of Purnell Whittaker and De La Hoya. I wanna say that was '95 or '96.
Bale was awesome as Dicky Eklund. He will be nominated for best supporting role. Wahlberg was so-so, i think they could have gotten someone better to play the role, but it was Wahlberg who pushes the movie.
More about the Ward/Eklund family than boxing tho, altho boxing is a big theme...it was pretty good.
It looks very good. I have a certain respect for Whalberg that I don't have for most of those Hollywood types. He has done some pretty good movies and his mid, lower level movies I always thought were solid. Gotta check it out.
Bale is a good actor.. his part looks like it could be a stealer.
it is he fuckin nailed it, steals every scene he is in.
Granted, Wahlbergs role of Mickey Ward is obviously more laid back and he plays it well...subtle. He i just too big and pretty to be Micky Ward, but thats the movies.
this is the next best thing to floyd fight. it will be interesting to see who demolishes mosley better, also it will be n entertaing fight because both fighters like to brawl
Uhhhhh no. As a fan I'd rather see Pac face Juan Manuel Marquez, Andre Berto, Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams, Devon Alexander or Timothy Bradley before Mosley (Alexander vs Bradley is booked so neither is available). HOWEVER, this is the right fight to take at the moment. Manny can't fuck up the monster payday with Floyd by taking on a high risk fight and losing. Mosley is just the man for the job....he has a name, the fight should be exciting and Pac should win in vintage fashion. If Floyd doesn't man up this fall then I'd love for Pac to settle the score with JMM then take on Andre Berto and seal his legacy with a fight at 154 against Sergio Martinez (if he still has the linear 154 belt).
dont count mosley out, he isnt a pushover, when all know what happen in the 2nd round of the mayweather fight, shane mosley reminds me of another fighter zab judah, they both in their with a plan and the minute they get bolo they figure all about it, personally i dont think mosley wasnt condition for the mayweather fight all his punches and movement where sluggish
let me ask yall this what do you yall think of Amir Khan
