England = Horrible

Yeah Colombia were very impressive. Want to see more of Quintero great young talent. Porto bought him for nothing and will probably sell him on for $40million+.

As for England, well the game had 1 world class player and he just came out of injury and wasn't even 70%. Yet he was the one that won the game.

Previous English teams would have defended better, this one has been awful in defence. They cannot open up teams going forward, they had some chances but against closed defences can't do much.

Rooney is overrated, Gerrard sadly is finished. They still got a chance of going through but its a longshot, they are relying on Italy. They will probably smoke Costa Rica tomorrow and rest their squad against Uruguay.

Rooting for Japan now.

Hanzo I think you are being to kind to England. They where awful, I mean for a country that has the premier league, there level of play was extremely poor. They couldn't keep the ball and there attack is pretty much non existent, but I do agree with you that Uruguay had a closed defence.

Like you said they have a mathematical chance, but I was doing the sums and even if Italy beat Costa Rica and Uruguay and England beat Costa Rica, they would still probably get knocked out on goal difference.


I think the only way England will ever win anything again, is if they get Sir Alex Ferguson to manage them.

Lol zooruka I think england had twice the posession and passes uruguay did.

The main problem with england is that they're too gun ho and thus make too many errors and aren't good tactically.

England weren't bad. Just is that Suarez is one of the best strikers in the world.

There's always less talented teams at tournaments that out preform England because they're willing to go the extra yard. Probably not since Italia 1990 have England had one of these teams and since since Gazza one of those players.

Plus Hodgson is a poor manager.

England have always been overrated. The Premier league is to blame for that, yes its a great league but its stars are all foreign. Its playmakers are all foreign.
There isn't a top team in England where its top player is English. Todays game, Sterling comes off, Lallana comes on. Ok Lallana is a good player he impressed this season, but seriously you aint winning no world cup with him or getting far.

Rooney has never been world class, good player but never ever a top tier carry the team kind of guy. Massively overrated, lets be honest playing for Man Utd, surrounded by great players and a top manager inflated his value.

and like you said other teams simply show more heart, they are all hungrier. Look at Chile yesterday their back 3 all came from teams who have been relegated in England. Yet they played their hearts out. Then on the English side of things you have Rooney asking for £250k a week.

Anyway right now Japan have missed a ton of sitters. fucking terrible.
