It's a bit of a joke how the two sides of the draw are. On one side you have
Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, France, Nigeria and probably Germany and then any one of Belgium, Algeria, Russia, Korea
Then you have
Netherlands, Mexico, Costa Rica, Greece, Argentina, Switzerland, probably USA and any one of Belgium, Algeria, Russia, Korea
Argentina should stroll to the semi finals unless Germany finish runner up. Switzerland and then anyone from group H lol c'mon now

Socceroos through to Round of 16 at World Cup due to technical ruling
http://stublogs.wordpress.com/2014/0...hnical-ruling/
^^ahahahaa.
Whats up with Ghana, they are imploding. First the team doesn't go out to training in protest of not getting their world cup bonuses. The President of the country sends a plane full of cash to the players. Now Boateng and Muntari have been sent home for fighting with the coaching staff. Madness right before such a crucial game.
I don't get it with these African teams, first Cameroon refusing to get on the plane to Brazil over pay, now Ghana. Its not like these players are poor they all play for top sides in Europe and get paid very well. Theres no national pride at all.
When a game begins, they show you images of each player. Don't know whether you've noticed, but practically all of these guys look really pissed off in those pics. Find out why now for a whole host of players on this site

SPORTS interview with Bruce Springsteen, amongst other things discussing Luis 'Sanchez' (Luis Suarez) biting opponents.
BTW I would not recognize The Boss anymore, he looks like any other old guy now (and why wouldn't he, huh).
Do you like that they have ties or would you prefer a definite winner?
Ties are okay in the first round of a World Cup.
I don't know how familiar you are with soccer, but in regular national competitions (not league cups, which are by definition knock out games) ties occur a lot too. They don't bother me.
League cup games (= all national teams from all divisions playing each other until there's only one left - I kind of simplified that because it would become too boring otherwise) which end in a tie get 2 periods of 15 minutes with extra playing time (in Belgium at least). If no additional goal(s) are scored which point out a winner, there's a penalty shoot out afterwards. They keep on shooting penalties until one team fucks up. The 2 periods of 15 minutes I just mentioned do not have a sudden death goal rule (once again, I'm talking about Belgium).
I had a quick read up on American sports because I was surprised by your question, check two, and it seems the American sports audience have a kind of aversion to ties. Am I right or am I jumping the gun? I suppose the Americans are on the money here, because indeed everything becomes more exciting without ties.
Yup they hate ties.
Martins Indi probably has the best rotating image at the start of the game.
Draw is fine except for knockout games
We have this fixation in Australia in other sports besides football to find a winner when a game is drawn, it really annoys me tbh
I remember when the MLS first formed in the US they would have a penalty shoot out after a draw. I'm glad we never went down that path here.
5th state, you were surprised by my question? haha
big up argelia! what a waste of time watching russia, the didnt deserve to be in the worldcup, worst team DEF , BYE BYE FAGGOTS!

Glad to see Belgium win its 3rd game, with a host of different players this time around. The South-Koreans played well (strong physical performance and good passes), but they lacked just a little decisiveness in front of the goal. Maybe due to their star strikers, who didn't perform as well as some other Korean players. No wonder the Korean coach called the star strikers off the field.
Once again, not a super convincing performance by my home country, but I'd say for a neutral viewer this was the most enjoyable out of Belgium's three games. Not only did the Belgians play with less mental pressure (they didn't HAVE to win), but the South Koreans played their part as well by attacking whenever they saw a chance. Complete opposite of how the Algerians played against Belgium.
I was especially impressed with Belgian striker Divok Origi (played in the second half). Not only did one of his actions lead to the goal by Vertonghen, he also played very creatively (for a striker, that is).
Steven Defour's foul was completely uncalled for and extremely stupid. But what do you expect with a player who looks like this?

Looks like he plays the guitar for fucking Linkin Park.
I predict he'll be banned for three games.
In the next round the US will play against Belgium. Congrats to all the Americans on the forum, I'm sure you are as happy as I am with the home country making it to the 8th finals. May the best team win the next game!
I have no idea whether any of the American players are injured. It would be cool if both teams could play with their best players. We hope to recuperate Vincent Kompany (midfielder) for the game against the US.
