Thanks!
Can anybody tell me whether Parks & Recreation gets better? I watched the pilot and was surprisingly unimpressed.

^ Seasons 2 & 3 are funny, then the quality starts to drop off.
Hey thanks I'll sit through a few more eps in S1, if I don't like them I'll move on to S2 and give that a go
^ The same thing happened with the first season of the office remake - they were sort of figuring out the characters and performers but from season 2 it's great. The Office kept up the quality though, Parks & Rec gradually gets worse.
Still S2 & 3 and a lot of 4 are great.
The Game - A fucking 2 hour jerkoff. I'd like to punch Fincher in the face.
I don't know what to tell you. I hated the fucking shit out of that movie.
If someone pulls a douchey prank like that on me for my birthday I'm just gonna stab them in the head with an icepick.
Law and Order: SVU and Organized Crime.
It's good to see Stabler back in action. Organized Crime is off to a good start. Good idea to have a continuing story vs every episode is a different case. Like Shades of Blue. Good show up until Jennifer Lopez decided to leave at the last minute.
Tales from the loop, Prime, scifi. Pilot was intriguing. Good use of music.

Escape to the country.
scifi about synthetic plants that have special olfactory capacities but can't reproduce/pollinate
good use of colour palets (greens and reds mostly) and interesting ways of framing shots (zooming in on objects instead of people). most of the acting is a bit off. Don't know whether this was done on purpose but it adds to the feeling of distance between movie and viewer and as such works well with the colours and framing. some of the lines are a bit on the nose as in they are (short) exposition dumps
the music throughout is remarkable with percussion, flutes and slightly disorienting zooming sounds
wouldn't call it a must see but it is an interesting watch
^^^
lol watched this with the gf on hulu.
interesting concept, we both ended up falling asleep to it though.
but the music was great for the film... especially the end credits.
we started watching LOST. i watched it while it aired and stopped watching it because i was younger and it got way too stupid for me, and some of the characters were pissing me off with how annoying they were lolz.
but figured id finally get around to giving it a full shake plus she was interested in it as well.
about half way though the second season atm. i forget how far i got while it was originally airing but it was farther than i am now.
Can someone recommend a good drama? 2020 - 2021. Something recent an American film.
also Bad Education
this looks like a good drama list

lol so many good movies I still have to watch
Da 5 Bloods. Disappointing to me. Three different genres rolled into one (I didn't feel like it gelled) and overly long. The acting is great though.
Sha this is pretty random but Thor Ragnarok was on the telly here yesterday. Jeff Goldblum was hilarious in it haha, he aced it. Ever seen the movie? This one was way better than the other two Thor movies. The second one was particularly dreary. Ragnarok brought the comedy
^ I heard that was good. I think I'm just way too jaded on superhero films at this point.
Maybe I'll take a look at that one at some point.
Dangerous Liaisons - Great actors. I still think Cruel Intentions is more entertaining.
^^I taped it from the BBC this week. I saw it with subs ages ago, now it's time to watch it again. And yes, Cruel Intentions was good too.
After work I like to watch 'Ronnie O'Sullivan's American Hustle' (History Channel). The Rocket learns about American history and shoots pool with locals, visits some pool related factories.
Super relaxing show. Too bad there's only a few eps. I saw Chicago and Memphis so far.
^ I was watching the Snooker world championship this week too. Ronnie went out in the quarter finals I think, gonna watch the final now.
simbasible.com has very solid movie reviews. it discusses movies both old (e.g. the forties) and new (e.g. John Wick 3). I like it for the old movies, to help me find something original to watch on streaming platforms

Promising Young Woman - Interesting film. I think it's really intended for a female audience, but I thought it was entertaining anyway, the lead actor sold it well.
Supervillain, the making of Takashi 6×9. Not a fan of his, but this is an interesting documentary.
The Terror, period drama slash slow horror burner about two ships on the Arctic in the 1850s. Four episodes in I'd give this 3 out of 5 stars.
I watched all of Downton Abbey for the first time over the last two weeks or so. Addictive. Now I need to get my hands on the follow up movie.
I watched a few episodes of The Terror. Slow going so I gave upon it.
Watching Kolchak:The Night Stalker. A sci fi/supernatural series lasted one season in 1974/75. But has cult following and influenced other sci fi series over the years. Starring Darren McGavin, great actor in the lead role.

.
That sounds like an interesting show
Can I have suggestions for anything quality on Amazon prime video?
The Loop if you're into scifi. Each episode has a different story in the same village. It's slow though.
The Boys. Great superhero stuff and very graphic.
The Man In The High Castle. Alt history where the Germans and Japanese occupy the US
Other people will have more and better suggestions, I've only had Prime for two or three months now.
Jamestown, which I watched on a different streaming platform before is good too. You gotta be into history though to enjoy it I think
Money plane. Terrible movie hahaha. Kelsey Grammer is great in this as a bad guy though
This review in dialogue form is hilarious https://uproxx.com/movies/money-plan...elsey-grammer/
^ where is this available to be seen? Any stream available?
Streamz+ (Belgian) so not on a US streaming platform I'm aware of
Just watched Cosmic Sin (new movie) starring Bruce Willis on Prime. This scifi flick has extremely lazy script writing and just doesn't come off right. When's the last time Bruce Willis was in a good movie? Better stay away from this one.
I'll check out Night Stalker
Two new superhero shws I just started on : 'Jupiter's Legacy' (3 eps in, entertaining - on Netflix) and 'The Nevers' (very good pilot written and directed by Joss Whedon - on HBO Max)
The Mitchells vs The Machines is a lot of fun. The first five minutes might give you a seizure but things slow down and proceed logically afterwards. I like the humour they injected into the proceedings
I guess this would be a good movie to watch with your kids, it has jokes and storylines for all ages
it's on Netflix. Danny McBride does the dad's voice (can't comment, only available in Dutch dubs for the kiddies down here)
Breaking the Band on Reelz. Basically, a basic doc. on why any popular group/band broke up in last 40 years or so.
