Predictions : winners of the quarter finals will be Holland and Germany. I'm unsure about the other ones. Colombia will pull it off if the referee doesn't comply with FIFA's strategy (Brazil has to go to the finals, it has been blatantly obvious in the past few games, especially the opening game) and the same, to a lesser extent, can be said of Belgium versus Argentina. I still fear Messi, at any rate!

Just my guesses, obviously.

Brazil has been pretty weak so far.

Biggest surprise to me would be if Costa Rica beat Holland.

Also, responding to Hectis' question about the US : I think the US have done fairly well. It is important to keep in mind that reaching the actual World Cup tournament is a success in and of itself for a lot of countries. The US have consistently been competing in the World Cup since the nineties. I respect that. (The last time Belgium participated was in 2002. See what I'm getting at?) And then reaching the round of 16. Not bad at all!

Hectis, teams like Belgium and Holland's highest realistic hope for this tournament was reaching the round of 16. So for the USA to reach that round as well is quite good.

So Brazil finally decided to start playing. For 45 minutes. It's a shame. I wish Columbia had reached the next round.

i said in the beginning of the world cup in this thread that i was supporting france and spain but my predictions from the start were brazil vs. argentina in the final and germany taking third place

Lol Brazil, i guess there game plan was to kick the shit out of James Rodriguez. How many times was he fouled? Fernandihno didn't even get a yellow card, i mean come on he should have been booked in the first half. He did the same shit in the Chile game. Ref's are way to lenient with Brazil, they are letting them get away with a shitload of fouls and not carding their players.

What a goal from Davis Luiz though, man of the match today.

Germany - France was boring as hell, the Germans scored and in the 2nd half just killed the game. France really didn't have any clear cut chances, they were never gonna beat Neuer from those angles.

I fully expect Germany to beat Brazil, in fact i hope Germany beat Brazil. This is the most unlikeable Brazil team ever, a lot of people gonna be rooting for Germany.
